Jamie How on his way to his third century for Kendal

Division 1 Action

Up to six players throughout the 1st and 2nd division ended up with centuries in what was another dramatic weekend in The Northern Cricket League

Kendal v Preaton

Two of those centuries came at Shap Road as Kendal got a winning draw with Preston. Kendal professional Jamie How started off proceedings hitting 112 off 104, which saw Kendal post a more than competitive total of 248-4.

How and Terry Hunte formed a 176 run partnership in 21 overs as Terry Hunte ended unbeaten on 88 off 79 balls.

In reply Preston Captain and Professional Lukman Vahaluwala hit a stunning 145 off 141 balls. The fantastic display was made even more special as Vahaluwala sustained a back injury in the first innings, which brought him out of the bowling attack.

Vahaluwalas 145 dragged Preston back into the game giving them a sniff of victory, as he and Charlie Williams formed a crucial 75 wicket partnership for the seventh wicket.

Chris Miller 5-69 and Stu Parkins 3-54 gave Kendal a chance of the win however Javaid Hussain and Andrew Starkie batted out 4 maidens for the draw

St Annes v Morecambe

Morecambe defeated St Annes by 83 runs at Vernon Road, with Morecambe Professional Umar Amin hitting 135 off 94, in Morecambes total of 242-7.

Amin's century as well as the 2nd wicket partnership of 137 with Mark Woodhead gave Morecambe a solid platform after the earlier loss of Josh Dixon for 0.

Dinuka Hettiarachchi returning figures of 4-83 for the defending champions.

In reply St Annes were all out for 159 off 44.1 overs, Gareth Pedder returning figures of 5-40, whilst St Annes Nanthesh Kiruparan top scored with 55 off 90 balls

Barrow v Lancaster

Barrow go further clear at the top after a comfortable 96 run victory over Lancaster at Ernest Pass.

Ryan Brown's 84 off 121 as well as Jonathan Miles 44 off 74 helping the hosts to a 1st innings of 221-8 off 50

Lancaster's Iain Perrieman returning figures of 5-43, whilst Professional Timycen Maruma ended with 2-92

The visitors were all out for 125 in reply with Barrow Professional Vaughn Van Jaarsveld taking 6-27.

Fleetwood v Blackpool

Fleetwood stay 2nd after a 20 run victory over Blackpool at Broadwater. The host's were all out for 116, with Blackpool's Steven Mercer taking 5-43

However Fleetwood Professional Shaun Leibisch (3-33), Sam Bell (4-30) and Adam Parker (3-32) all returned good figures as Blackpool were all out for 96

Chorley v Netherfield

Netherfield won by 48 runs at Chorley as they keep up the pressure on both Barrow and Fleetwood. 47 off 81 by professional Cobus Pienaar and 45 off 62 by Chris Williams helping the visitors to 193 for 6 off 50.

Chorley were all out in reply for 145 in 41.2 overs, Chris Williams with 4-25.. The host's were 96-8 at one stage but put up some resistance with Alex Weetman who ended unbeaten on 46

Darwen v Leyland

Leyland had to make do with a winning draw at Darwen, Henry Thompson unbeaten on 89, setting Darwen a chase of 222 for 5.

Darwen stuck in their with professional Shaun De Kock top scoring with 73 off 135. John Cordingleys 35 off 54, and Neil Cordingleys 30 off 44 as the hosts ended on 202 for 6

Carnforth v Lancashire Colts

On Sunday, The Lancashire Colts defeated Carnforth by 178 runs, The Colts batted first, as Fayez Ughradar hit 114 off 148, in the Colts first innings total of 267 for 4. Their were also runs from Jake Hooson ( 58 off 84 balls) and Adam Holt 79 off 61 balls.

In reply Carnforth were all out for 89, Michael Burns with 5-26 for the Colts

Barrow stay top after a comfortable 7 wicket win at Lancaster, the hosts shot out for 79 in just 21 overs. In reply Barrow reach 80 with the loss of just 3 wickets, further details of this game will be online later,

Netherfield v Chorley

Chorley remain 2nd and just one point behind the leaders after a hard fought 2 wicket win at Netherfield.

The hosts were all out for 180, Michael Mead returning figures of 4-49, with Netherfield offering resistance from Shane Dixon (41 off 71 balls), Mike Dugdale (39 off 72 balls), and Nathan Dixon (unbeaten on 32 off 48 balls)

In reply Chorley just got over the line reaching 182-8 off 43 overs, Steven Beck returning figures of 5-34. Nathan Chambers also impressed with figures of 3-50. Chorley's Edward Melling the top scorer with 64 off 99 balls

Blackpool v Fleetwood

Andy Singleton hit 101 as Fleetwood defeated Blackpool by 86 runs at Stanley Park. Singletons 101 helped Fleetwood to a first innings total of 232-7. Sam Owen returning 3-48.

Blackpool were all out in the 47th over for 146, Nicholas Wall 33, and Ash Moreau unbeaten on 47. With 4-21 by Tom Clarke and 4-28 by Joe Bell helping the visitors to victory

Darwen v Leyland

Karl Cross hit 113 as Leyland won by 128 runs at Darwen. The visitors declaring on 239 for 6, with Thomas Murray unbeaten on 50

6-16 by Stephen Cartwright as Darwen were bowled out for 111, with Zac Whalley the top scorer with 44 off 62 balls

Lancaster v Barrow

Lancaster werebowled out for 79 and Barrow knocked off the runs for the loss of only two wickets Rhys Studt making 49 not out

Morecambe v St Annes

St Annes got a winning draw at Morecambe, 61 off 54 by David Watson as St Annes ended the 1st innings on 235-9. Nick Milner with 4-67.

Morecambe held on reaching 182-6, Michael Fisher with 55 off 48,

Preston v Kendal

Preston defeated Kendal at West Cliff by 37 runs, Murtaza Hussain top scoring with 76, as well as Paul Mastersons unbeaten 22, as Preston were all out for 194

Kendal fought gallantly as they only had 10 players, Shane Hyland the top scorer with 67
