Division 1 Action

Barrow lead the way at the top of Division One after picking up maximum points in their weekend double header. However defending Champions Fleetwood suffered a shock defeat at Preston making it 2 defeats on the bounce.

Blackpool and Leyland also make it two from two with Netherfield closing in at the top in another entertaining weekend of Northern Cricket League.

DIVISION ONE:

Barrow v Kendal:

Barrow defeated Kendal by 5 wickets at Ernest Pass, Sub Professional Travis Townsend doing the business for the hosts with figures of 6-31 bowling Kendal out for 111 in 49 overs.

Kendal at one stage were 69-6, however 39 off 87 by Sub Professional Ryan Canning and a useful 26 off 80 by debutant Richard Herron saw the visitors reach 111.

In reply Kendal fought back having Barrow in trouble at 4-3 and then 36-4, however an unbeaten knock of 42 off 92 balls by Ryan Brown and a unbeaten 35 off 35 balls by Sam Dutton eased the hosts home in 31.3 overs as they reached 112-4.

Barrow v Lancashire Colts:

On Sunday Barrow made it the perfect weekend with a 22 run victory over the Lancashire Colts, Barrow batting first and were all out for 132, Sub Professional from Carlisle Saliya Saman top scoring with 66 off 98 balls.

Lancashire Colts Jamie Squires had the best figures of 3-31 for the Colts.

In reply the Colts were all out for 110 in 37.2 overs Saliya Saman striking with figures of 5-30, and Captain Daryl Wearing returning figures of 5-29.

Blackpool v St Annes:

Blackpool make it 2 from 2 following an 8 wicket win over St Annes at Stanley Park, the visitors were all out for 101 in 38.4 overs after opting to bat first. Blackpool Professional Richard Gleeson the top bowler returning figures of 6-32.

In reply Blackpool eased home in 26 overs, reaching 107-2, Stephen Twist's unbeaten 50 off 35 balls sealing the win.

Lancaster v Leyland:

Leyland also remain unbeaten after a comfortable 119 run victory at Lancaster, the visitors posting a commanding score of 215-5. Henry Thompson top scoring 67 and Luis Reece with 64.

Lancaster kept battling through Alex Metcalfe who returned figures of 3-49.

In reply Lancaster were all out for 96 in 36.5 overs, Luis Reece with figures of 5-24. Ben Simm with a flurry of runs for the hosts top scoring with 31

Preston v Fleetwood:

Defending Champions Fleetwood crashed to a shock 4 wicket defeat at Preston, Fleetwood all out for 114 in 35.1 overs, Professional Ian Holland with 40. However 3-35 by Andrew Starkie and 3-0 by Soyeb Dukanwala helped Preston to a chaseable target.

In reply an unbeaten 67 by Captain Sajid Patel saw Preston to victory as they reached 117-6 off 36.3 overs. Fleetwood Professional Ian Holland the top bowler with figures of 3-33.

Netherfield v Darwen:

A unbeaten 107 off 92 balls by John Huck helped Netherfield to a 7 wicket win over Darwen at Parkside Road.

Darwen setting Netherfield a target of 156-7, Neil Cordingley's flurry of 53 off 50 balls helping the visitors to the total.

Scott Clement (2-37) and Colin Ackermann (2-30) the best bowlers with a good disciplined bowling restricting Darwen.

In reply, Netherfield got off to a slow start losing Marc Brown and then Colin Ackermann, before Huck's 107 off 92 which included 6 fours and 9 sixes as Netherfield reached 157 for 3 off 40.2 overs.

Chorley v Morecambe:

Morecambe defeated Chorley by seven wickets at Windsor Park, the hosts all out for 136 after deciding ti bat first.

Gareth Pedder was Morecambe's top bowler with figures of 3-31, in reply Morecambe eased home in 32.1 overs thanks to Professional Vishal Tripathi with 89 off 77 balls supported with an unbeaten 40 off 108 balls by Suman Shrestha as Morecambe reached 139-3 off 32.1 overs.

Division 2 Round Up:

Kendal v Barrow:

Barrow won by 30 runs at Kendal, the visitors all out for 122, Captain Ian Allington the top scorer with 31 off 54 balls. Kendal's Ryan Nightingale returning figures of 3-31.

In reply Kendal were all out for 92 in 37 overs, Paul Riley returning figures of 4-17 and Glen Kermode 3-30.

Leyland v Lancaster:

Leyland's Chris Parkinson hit an unbeaten 105 off 109 balls as the defending Champions made light work of Lancaster in a dominant 175 run victory at Fox Lane.

The hosts declaring on 209-2, Jonathan Mote also contributing with 61 off 05 balls.

In reply Lancaster shot out in 17.1 overs for just 34,Steven Pallett with figures of 3-5, and 2 wickets each for Will Jacques, Alex Williams and Michael Borchall.

Darwen v Netherfield:

Netherfield won by two wickets at Darwen, the hosts making 178-5, Gary Jackson with 62 and Scott Jackson with an unbeaten 59. Muhammad Nazir returning figures of 3-29 for the visitors.

In reply Brendon Herron batted well for his 42, however it was the unbeaten 39 by Michael Dugdale and the 36 by Muhammad Nazir which set Netherfield up for the win.

Before Father and Son Mike and Liam Dugdale finished the job off as Liam Dugdale made a crucial unbeaten 24 as he and his dad saw Netherfield home reaching 182-8 in the 48th over.

Graham Ainslie had figures of 3-47 for Darwen.

Morecambe v Chorley:

Chorley got a winning draw at Morecambe the visitors all out for 169 in 43.4 overs, Stuart Naden top scoring with 69.

Morecambes Ayush Sharma returning figures of 4-22 and Sean Graves taking 3-44.

In reply Morecambe made 166-8, just falling short, Phil Thornton top scoring with 62, Chorley's Stuart Naden returning figures of 3-36.

Fleetwood v Preston:

Fleetwood defeated Preston by 4 wickets at Broadwater, the visitors all out for 121, Declan Clerkin returning figures of 4-16 for the hosts.

In reply Neil Jackson's 54 eased Fleetwood home to 122-6 in 37.3 overs, despite figures of 5-40 by Preston's Usman Alam.

St Annes v Blackpool:

St Annes made it 2 from 2 with a 7 wicket win over Blackpool at Vernon Road. The visitors making 152-8 off 45 overs. Gurmandeep Bains with 44 off 73 balls for the visitors.

Kevin Reid returning figures of 3-36 for the hosts, with David Bartholomew taking 2-18.

In reply St Annes eased home in 32.4 overs, reaching 158 for 3, Charles Boucher with 61 off 62 balls.

Blackpools Matthew Middlehurst returning figures of 3-25.
