Preston have first win

All Division one games have a result, Fleetwod go top even though they lost

DIVISION ONE:

Blackpool v Lancaster:

Lancaster batted first at Stanley Park and were 173-9 in their allotted 50 overs. Professional Michael Barry with 54 supported by Dylan Conroy 37no and Iain Burstow 26 set a total to defend. Christi Viljeon once again was in the wickets taking 5-46 with Steven Mercer taking 3-23

Blackpool were made to fight for their win and were indebted to Stepnen Twist 60 and Alex Smith 34 to set up the victory and Danny Gilbert 15no saw them home. Iain Perrieman with 3-30 was Lacaster's best bowler

Fleetwood v Penrith:

Fleetwod were put in to bat and were bowled out for 175, Juan-Pierre De Villiers 100 (his second century of the season) and Naveed Yousaf 24 were Fleetwood's main run makers. Paul Hindmarch, Kriss McLean and Jack White each took 3 wickets

Ryan Caruthers with 87 set up the Penrith victory with valuable contributions from Ben Davidson 28 and Jonathon Osborne 17. Naveed Yousaf 3-26 and Joe Bell 3-38 put Fleetwood in with a chance but the winning runs were scored in the last over

Kendal v Leyland:

Leyland won the toss and asked Kendal to bat. They were bowled out for 181 Jamie How 90 and Darren Braithwaite 40 their top scorers. Steven Pallett 3-21 and Karl Cross 3-49 were Leyland's main wicket takers

Leyland knocked off the runs in the 44th over, opener Daniel Lamb 60no ably supported by Alex Ross 54 and Nathan McDonnell 32no.

Morecambe v Chorley:

Chorley decided to bat and reached 182 - 9 at the close of their innings. Will Moulton and Gaurav Dhar the main run makers. Kelly Smuts took 3-50 for Morecambe

The Morcambe opening batsman Ikram Ullah with 47 steadied the ship after two early wickets and Lewis Edge 60no saw Morecambe home. Chris Harty was Chorley's best bowler with 3-29

Preston v Netherfield:

Netherfield asked Preston to bat first, Preston were all out for 169 their main run makers being Jibran Khan 34, Saeed Bariwala 31 and Soyeb Dukanwala 31.

In reply Netherfield were bowled out for 124, Ben Phiilips their Australian amateur making 49. The wickets were shared out between Afzal Kapadia 3-22, Saeed Bariwala 3-35 and Sarfarz Navaz Patel taking the wickets of 8,9 and 10

St Annes v Barrow:

Barrow won the toss and invited St Annes to bat, Thanks to Lukman Vahaluwala 91, Nathan Armstrong 58 and Nathan Bolus 33 St Annes were 255 - 7 in their alloted overs. Gary Collins took 3-100 in 19 overs for the visitors

Barrow went out for the win and 65 from Sam Dutton and a cavilier 74 from Graham Dawson put them in sight of victory but good catching by Matt Grindley and Matt Taaffe saw St Annes home

Sunday 18th May
Chorley v Lancashire Colts

Chorley became joint leaders of Division 1 with their 78 run win over the Lancashire Colts. After winning the toss they decided to bat and closed their innings on 210-9. The two top scorers from Saturday were again in the runs, Will Moulton 63 and Gaurav Dhar 43 with professional Mohammed Jamal joinging in with 49. Ben Saunders was the Colts best bowler with 3-62 off 18 overs

In reply the Colts were bowled out for 132, Michael Critchley was their outstanding batsman with 58. six of the batsmen failed to trouble the scorer. Gaurav Dhar with 5-42 and Will Moulton 3-43 destroyed the the Colts innings

Division Two Round Up

Barrow v St Annes

St Annes invited Barrow to bat and they were all out for 112 with Tom Milligan 41 their top scorer. Tom Bradley 4-25 and Kevin Reid 3-21 taking the wickets for St Annes

St Annes reached their winning target 114 - 5 in the 27th over, Tom Bradley putting an alround performance with 36no aided by Kushan Mirando 31 and 18no from David Bartholomew

Chorley v Morecambe:

Chorley batted first on a poor wicket at Windsor Park and were bowled out for only 36 runs (10 extras) Lewis Smith taking 5-8. It took only 9.3 overs for Morecambe to reach vitory at 40-3

Lancaster v Blackpool:

Blackpool won the toss and elected to bat making 118 - 9 in 45 overs. Lancaster were bowled out for 25 in 17 overs. Jamie Thomson taking 6-2

Leyland v Kendal:

There was a tight finnish at the Memorial ground with only one run separating the teams at the end. Leyland won the toss and decided to bat and made 156-8 thanks to Tom Reece 35, Sam Oldham 35 and Andrew Jacques 20no. Darren Nightingale 3-30 was Kendal's best bowler

Kendal made a great effort and were two runs away from victory when they ran out of overs. Paul Dowker 50 and Shane Hyland 46 lead the charge.

Netherfield v Preston:

Netherfield chose to bat first and went on a run spree, Runs from Joe Atkinson 100no, Liam Dugdale 80 and Craig Walmsley 49 enabling them to declare in the 35th over at 260 for 2.

Preston were bowled out for 64 Stuart Nixon 6-23 and Staurt Dixon 3-40

Penrith v Fleetwood:

Batting first Fleetwood reached 163 - 7 at the close of their innings Michael Clinning carrying his bat with 84no. Tom Wilson made 26.

Penrith were made to fight for their victory, Liam Trevaskis 60, Steve Nicholson 44 lay the foundation for the win with Will Tyson 19 and Robbie White 12no seeing them over the line
