Another last gasp win for Penrith



Lukman Vahaluwala took 4-24 at Lancaster

Penrith again had a nail biting finnish to their game bowling out Chorley needing 2 runs for victory. St Annes beat Lancaster and Barrow had a winning draw at Fleetwood. All the remaing games were abandoned

DIVISION ONE:

Blackpool v Kendal:

the match was abandoned at Stanley Park with Blackpool 25-2 after 14 overs. Adam Cowperthwaite removed the two openers and finnished with 2-14

Both sides took 4 points

Darwen v Preston:

The game between was abandoned without a ball being bowled 4 points to both sides

Fleetwood v Barrow:

Barrow batted first and made 124-4 in 25overs with Dean Williams leading the way with 42.

In reply Fleetwood could only manage 101-8 in their 25 overs. Graham Dawson 5-55 and Greg Reynolds 3-19 doing the damage for Barrow

Lancaster v St Annes:

Lancaster were asked to bat and were bowled out for 105 in 39.1 ovvers. Iain Burstow top scored with 30 and Lukman Vahaluwala with 4-24 off 15 and Mitch Bolus 3-25 were St Annes best bowlers

St Annes were made to fight for their win and chasing a reduced total due to rain reached their target of 90-7 in 30.5 thanks to a stand by Mikey Harling 13no and wicketkeeper David Watson 10no. Liam Moffat with 4-42 off 15 and professional Michael Barry 3-31 also off 15 gave St Annes a fight

Leyland v Morecambe:

Morecambe were 21 -1 from 7 overs when rain stopped play. Yakub Bhamji was 17 not out and Daniel Lamb took the wicket

Penrith v Chorley

Another nail biting finnish for Penrith. Chorley won the toss and put Penrith in to bat. They made 148-8 in their 42 overs Jonathan Osborne top scored with 33. Billy Smith was Chorley's best bowler with 5-51 off 21overs

Penrith bowled Chorley out 147 1 run short, Jack Catterall with 40 kept Chorley in with a chance but professional Paul Hindmarch 5-43 and Jack White 4-53 saw Penrith home

Barrow v Fleetwood

Fleetwood won the toss and invited Barrow to bat. Thet were 124-4 in their 45 overs. Anthony Ellison taking 4-31.

Fleetwood were bowled out for 96. Fleetwood started well 41- 1 Michael Clinning 18 and Chris Stanhope made 27 but Ian Allington with 4-42 and Paul Riley 3-21 saw Barrow through to victory

Chorley v Penrith:

The match was abandoned without a ball being bowled

Kendal v Blackpool:

Kendal won the toss and invited Blackpool to bat and made 177-7 in 43 overs. Sam Owen 42 Joshua Boyne 38 and Craig Brown 34no were Blackpool's main run makers

Kendal were 119-7 at the close after 31 overs. Richard Herron 33 and Shane Hyland 32 lead the Kendal chase. Jamie Thomson was Blackpool's best bowler with 3-27

Morecambe v Leyland:

Leyland batted first and made 156-3 in 39 overs thanks to Sam Oldham 66 and Jonathan Mote 52.

In a rain effected match Morecambe were set 133 in 31 overs. They reached their target in 22.5 overs, Gareth Pedder 64 laid the foundations and Craig Atkinson 34no and Gulam Maje 15no saw them home

Preston v Darwen:

The match was abandoned without a ball being bowled. 4 points for each side

St Annes v Lancaster:

Lancaster were 42-1 after 13 overs when rain stopped play. Kiran Moffat was 25 not out and Tom Bradley took the wicket for St Annes
