The Northern Cricket League Review

The Northern Premier League 2025 season round 4 matches suffered with the weather meaning that the majority of matches played reduced overs

Kendal's win over neighbours Netherfield saw them got top of the league, Garstang continue their winning ways and are second. Longridge beat Chorley and Settle beat champions Fleetwood. Blackpool played on Sunday and defeated Fulwood & Broughton.

In Division 2 St Annes remain 100% beating Euxton, Carlisle moved into second place with a win over Carnforth, there were also wins for Barrow, Mawdesley and Vernon Carus.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 4

Garstang v Leyland

Leyland won the toss in a 84 over match at the Riverside Sports ground and put the hosts into bat, Mark Walling was soon out lbw to Ross Bretherton for 4 (6 balls), 18-1.

Joseph Pearson was the new batsman and with Tom Higson were making good progress until Tom Higson was out caught by Karl Cross off Luke Hands for 30 (28 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 34-2.

Geeth Kumara replaced Higson and with Pearson had a stand of 160 broken when Geeth Kumara was caught by Michael Pallett off Andrew Jacques for 76 (87 balls)(5x4, 5x6), 194-3.

Michael Walling joined Joseph Pearson and they saw Garstang close on 221-3 in their 42 overs. Joseph Pearson was 84no (122 balls)(7x4, 2x6) and Michael Walling 10no (9 balls).

The Leyland bowling was Ross Bretherton 1-20 from 13 overs, Andrew Jacques 1-42 off 9, Luke Hands 1-58 from 8, Michael Pallett 0-23 off 2, Sam Oldham 0-36 from 4 and Ned Patterson 0-39 off 6.

The Leyland reply got off to a bad start losing Karl Cross caught by Geeth Kumara off Corey Cater for 4 (10 balls), 11-1, Number three was Sam Oldham and with Alexander Eyre got the innings back on track, Corey Cater removed both batsmen, bowling Alexander Eyre for 25 (45 balls)(4x4), 52-2, Sam Oldham followed caught by Mark Walling for 25 (58 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 61-3.

The two new batsmen were Luke Hands and Lloyd Tennant and they were keeping the scoreboard ticking over, Danny Gilbert swung the game in the hosts favour with two quick wickets, he had Luke Hands caught by Michael Walling for 15 (25 balls)(2x4), 85-4, three runs later he trapped new man Andrew Makinson lbw for 0 (11 balls), 88-5.

Ned Patterson joined Lloyd Tennant and together they tried to rebuild the innings but were behind the run rate, their partnership was 60 when Tom Higson bowled Ned Patterson for 20 (32 balls)(2x4), 148-6.

Ross Bretherton replaced Patterson but lost his partner Lloyd Tennant caught and bowled by Corey Cater for 54 (48 balls)(5x4, 2x6), 156-7. Adam Sexton was in next but soon became Cory Cater's fifth wicket bowled for 3 (6 balls), 170-8.

Tom Higson bowled the last over of the innings and mopped up the two remaining wickets, Andrew Jacques was caught by Joseph Pearson for 1 (2 balls), 171-9, off the final ball he had Michael Pallett caught by Danny Gilbert for 1 (3 balls) as Leyland were bowled out for 173 in their 42 overs, Ross Bretherton was 13no (14 balls).

Corey Cater took 5-43 from 12 overs, Tom Higson 3-15 off 4, Danny Gilbert 2-41 from 11, Joe Barlow 0-11 off 2, Ian Walling 0-22 from 6 and Geeth Kumara 0-35 off 7.

Longridge v Chorley

Chorley won the toss at the Newsham Memorial ground and chose to bat first in a 40 over match, Miller Childs fell caught by Ian Simpson off Kieran Mcclintock for 0 (4 balls), 2-1.

Will Moulton came in at three and with Keegan Petersen were going well scoring at a run a ball, Gabriel Dowthwaite was the man to make the breakthrough having Keegan Petersen caught and bowled for 36 (32 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 78-2.

Maxwell Seedall was the new batsman but with only seven runs added Gabriel Dowthwaite struck again taking the wicket of Will Moulton caught by Rob Hollinghurst for 33 (28 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 85-3.

Edwin Moulton came in but was soon out lbw to Gabriel Dowthwaite for 7 (8 balls), 99-4. Stuart Naden was next in, Maxwell Seedall was the next man out caught by Rob Hollinghurst off Ollie Mullin for 16 (14 balls), 104-5.

James Dunn replaced Seedall and sooon became Ollie Mullin's second wicket lbw for 9 (10 balls), 116-6, Joseph Tiffin was Stuart Naden's new partner, with two balls to go Stuart Naden was run out by Ian Simpson for 15 (16 balls), 131-7. Ben Simpkins came in and hit the last ball for four as Chorley closed on 135-7 in their 20 overs, Joseph Tiffin was 3no (7 balls) and Ben Simpkins 4no (1 balls).

The Longridge bowling was Gabriel Dowthwaite 3-27 from 6 overs, Ollie Mullin 2-35 off 5, Kieran McClintock 1-30 from 5, Ian Simpson 0-7 off 1 and Jacob Proctor 0-29 from 3.

The Lonridge openers Taariq Chiecktey and Joshua Mullin took control with Taariq Chiecktey leading the way and claimed victory on 136-0 in 17.3 overs, Taariq Chiecktey was79no (62 balls)(7x4, 4x6) and Joshua Mullin 38no (44 balls)(4x4).

The bowling was James Dunn 0-10 from 1, Will Moulton 0-13 off 2, Miller Childs 0-14 from 2, Sam Steeple 0-29 off 6 and Edwin Moulton 0-36 from 4.3.

Netherfield v Kendal

Netherfield won the toss at Parkside Road in a 92 over game and invited the visitors to bat first, they had early success with two wickets in the same over, Josh Wills was the man, he had Maximus Winskill caught behind by Will Beeden for 5 (10 balls), 12-1. three balls later number three Finlay Richardson was caught by Oli Wileman for 0 (3 balls), 12-2.

Darren Nightingale was joined by Freddie Fallows and they moved the score along until Josh Wills had Darren Nightingale lbw for 15 (29 balls)(2x4). 48-3. next in was Cole Abrahams and with Freddie Fallows leading the way were keeping the scoreboard ticking over, Josh Wills struck again taking his fourth wicket Cole Abrahams caught by Ben Barrow for 3 (11 balls), 72-4.

Bradley Earl replaced Abrahams and with the score approaching the hundred both men were out on the same score, Matt Jackson bowled Freddie Fallows for 55 (42 balls)(8x4, 2x6), 97-5, Bradley Earl was caught by Cole Mcconchie off Lee Hogg for 7 (12 balls), 97-6.

James Bowman and Lewis Richardson were the new batsmen, they moved the score along but with their partnership on 64 Lewis Richardson was caught by Ben Barrow off Oli Wileman for 24 (49 balls), 161-7, next in was Sam Sharp who was soon out lbw to Cole Mcconchie for 2 (11 balls), 164-8.

Christopher Miller was James Bowman's new partner and took the score to 199 when Josh Wills claimed his fifth wicket James Bowman caught by Ben Barrow for 57 (76 balls)(5x4, 3x6), 199-9.

Kuldeep Singh came in at eleven and with Christopher Miller saw Kendal close on 210-9 in their 46 overs, Christopher Miller was 15no (25 balls)(3x4) and Kuldeep Singh 9no (7 balls).

Josh Wills took 5-48 from 12 overs, Lee Hogg 1-17 off 4, Matt Jackson 1-43 from 7, Oli Wileman 1-46 off 9 and Cole Mcconchie 1-56 from 14.

Reece Irving and Ben Barrow were the Netherfield openers, Reece Irving was the first man out bowled by Kuldeep Singh for 11 (16 balls)(2x4), 19-1, coming in at three was Cole Mcconchie who was quickly out caught behind by Finlay Richardson off Sam Sharp for 1 (10 balls), 25-2.

John Huck was next in but soon fell lbw to Sam Sharp for 2 (11 balls), 29-3. Richard Everett joined Ben Barrow and they steadily moved the score along, Lewis Richardson broke the partnership having Richard Everett caught behind by Finlay Richardson for 12 (39 balls)(2x4), 50-4.

Josh Dixon came to the wicket but with only four runs added he was stumped by Finlay Richardson off Freddie Fallows for 1 (8 balls), 54-6. Will Beeden was the new man in and with Ben Barrow were going well until the return of Sam Sharp to the attack, he had Will Beeden caught by Cole Abrahams for 22 (31 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 98-6.

Josh Wills replaced Beeden and continued to make progress, with the score approaching the 150 Sam Sharp struck again, Josh Wills caught by Cole Abrahams for 35 (23 balls)(4x6), 149-7. Lee Hogg was next tin but soon became wicket number five for Sam Sharp caught by James Bowman for 4 (7 balls), 157-8.

Oli Wileman came in at ten but lost his partner Ben Barrow bowled by Freddie Fallows for 75 (111 balls)(5x4, 26), 180-9. Netherfield were bowled out for 184 in 43.1 overs when Oli Wileman was out lbw to Christopher Miller for 2 (4 balls) with last man Matt Jackson 0no (1 ball).

Sam Sharp had the figures of 5-68 from 14 overs, with Freddie Fallows 2-60 off 14, Christopher Miller 1-11 from 2.1, Lewis Richardson 1-18 off 7 and Kuldeep Singh 1-19 form 6.

Settle v Fleetwood

Settle won the toss at Edenside and put the visitors into bat, Tomas King and Joseph Davis opened and were soon separated, Tom Davidson took two wickets in three balls, he trapped Joseph Davis lbw for 0 (3 balls), 12-1. two balls later he had number three Charlie Clark caught by John Davidson for 0 (2 balls), 12-2.

Michael Rippon came in next and with Tomas King put on 60, their partnership ended with Tomas King out lbw to Tom Davidson for 33 (47 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 72-3. Harry McAleer was the new man in, the score had just passed the hundred when Harry McAleer fell lbw to William Davidson for 13 (15 balls)(3x4), 104-4.

Jeremy Davies joined Michael Rippon, Amar Ulllah was brought into the attack with immediate success, he had Jeremy Davies caught by Guatam Waghela for 8 (17 balls), Spencer Evans came to the wicket but was quickly out lbw to William Davidson for 0 (3 balls), 116-6.

Declan Clerkin replaced Evans but he went cheaply caught by Benjamin Hulse off Amar Ullah for 0 (5 balls), 117-7, Nathan Bend was the new batsman, Amar Ullah then claimed the prize wicket of Michael Rippon out caught for 46 (54 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 133-8.

Hassan Mughal was Bend's new partner but with only two runs added the visitors lost their last two wickets, William Davisdon had Nathan Bend caught by Benjamin Hulse for 9 (15 balls), 135-9, Matthew Siddall came to the wicket and saw Hassan Mughal out caught by Will Vause off Amar Ullah for 2 (12 balls) as Fleetwood were bowled out for 135 in 29 overs.

Amar Ullah took 4-9 from 6 overs with William Davidson 3-22 off 6, Tom Davidson 3-39 from 9, Will Vause 0-17 off 3.2 and Eddy Read 0-37 from 4.4.

In reply the Settle opening pair William Davidson and Benjamin Hulse gave them a brilliant start, Will Davidson was the man in charge, Matthew Siddall broke the partnership having Benjamin Hulse caught behind by Harry McAleer for 12 (42 balls), 97-1.

John Davidson was in at three but was quickly out caught behind by Harry McAleer off Jeremy Davies for 1 (5 balls), 98-2. Gautam Waghela was the new batsman but lost William Davidson bowled by Jeremy Davies for 90 (66 balls)(13x4, 3x6), 115-3.

That was the last success for the visitors as Amar Ullah and Guatam Waghela saw Settle home on 136-3 in 23.5 overs, Gautam Waghel was 17no (21 balls) and Amar Ullah 5 no (12 balls),.

For Fleetwood Jeremy Davies took 2-7 from 5, Matthew Siddall 1-39 off 7, Michael Rippon 0-26 from 2, Declin Clerkin 0-28 off 4.5 and Hassan Mughai 0-31 from 5.

Sunday 15th June

Fulwood & Broughton v Blackpool

Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at the Highfield ground and asked the visitors to bat first, They lost an early wicket Dylan Henshall caught behind by James McWilliam off Lewis Wellings for 9 (8 balls)(2x4), 10-1.

The Blackpool number three was Andrew Needham and with Kasim Munir took the score past fifty, Simon Kerrigan was introduced into the attack and in his first over had Kasim Munir caught by Lewis Wellings for 10 (35 balls), 54-2.

Matthew Taaffe was next in but soon lost his partner Andrew Needham caught by Lewis Wellings off Simon Kerrigan for32 (48 balls)(5x4), 60-3, one run later and Simon Kerrigan had Matthew Taaffe caught behind by James McWilliam for 1 (12 balls), 61-4.

Joshua Boyne and Ali Usman were the two new batsmen, they were going steadily along until Cameron Port bowled Joshua Boyne for 18 (41 balls)(1x4,1x6), 101-5. Ben Howarth came in but was soon out lbw to Simon Kerrigan for 2 (8 balls), 109-6.

Tom Myerscough replaced Howarth but fell two runs later on the dreaded nelson bowled by Cameron Port for 0 (6 balls), 111-7. Matthew Grindley came to the wicket and was Simon Kerrigan's fifth wicket caught by Lewis Wellings for 2 (5 balls), 115-8.

The visitors number ten was Case Lynch and with Ali Usman had put on thirty runs when Ali Usman was bowled by Lewis Wellings for 44 (91 balls)(3x4, 3x6), 145-9.

James Thomson joined Lynch and they took Blackpool to 182-9 in their 50 overs with Case Lynch 18no (32 balls) and Jamie Thomson 19 no (19 balls)(2x6).

Simon Kerrigan took 5-19 from 15 overs, Lewis Wellings 2-41 off 10, Cameron Port 2-61 from 11, Ewen Mansford 0-7 off 1, Todd Winder 0-22 from 5 and Marcus Allen 0-20 off 8.

The host's innings followed that of the visitors losing an early wicket, Matt Smith was the man out caught by Joshua Boyne off Jamie Thomson for 5 (15 balls), 10-1, Number three was Ben Parkinson but he soon became wicket number two for James Thomson caught behind by Ben Howarth for 5 (15 balls), 22-2.

Ben Rosbottom was the new batsman and with Ewen Mansford took the score past fifty, Ali Usman broke the partnership bowling Ewen Mansford for 7 (49 balls), 53-3. Simon Kerrigan replaced Mansford but before he had settled in he was bowled by Ali Usman for 6 (6 balls), 63-4.

James McWilliam joined Rosbottom but with only two runs added he was out lbw to Ali Usman for 0 (7 balls), 65-5, next in was Charlie Rossiter who soon became wicket number four for Ali Usman bowled for 0 (5 balls), 67-6.

Cameron Port was the new batsman but did not fare any better lbw to Joshua Boyne for 0 (4 balls), 72-7. Lewis Wellings replaced Port, Ben Rosbottom had been watching the collapse at the other end but it was now his turn lbw to Joshua Boyne for 34 (70 balls), (4x4), 77-8.

Lewis Wellings had a new partner in Marcus Allen, they put on fifteen runs then Ali Usman took the remaining two wickets in two balls, for his fifth wicket he had Marcus Allen caught by Joshua Boyne for 5 (12 balls)m 92-9. next ball number eleven Todd Winder was out lbw for 0 (1 balls) as Fulwood & Broughton were bowled out for 92 in 32 overs. Lewis Wellings was 8no (9balls)(2x4).

Ali Usman took 6-20 from 9 overs, Jamie Thomson 2-18 off 9, Josjua Boyne 2-26 from 8 and Matthew Grindley 0-24 off 6.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 4

Barrow v Thornton Cleveleys

Thornton Cleveleys won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and put the hosts into bat in a 68 over game, They got off to a good start, Drew Postlethwaite was the first man out caught behind by Sam Curwen off Daniel Howard for 25 (21 balls)(3x4,1x6), 32-1.

The Barrow number three was Sam Dutton, opener Simon Chadd had been tied down and eventually fell bowled by Joshua Sackfield for 7 (39 balls), 52-2. Toby Mowat was in next and soon became wicket number two for Joshua Sackfield caught by Ethan Elphick for 10 (14 balls)(2x4), 70-3.

Dikshant Vairagi was the new batsman, disaster struck for the hosts losing three wickets for 5 runs, Dikshant Vairagi was the first to go caught by Josh Borrell off Jake Apperley for 9 (14 balls), 83-4, four runs later and incoming batsnman Jack Singleton was bowled by Jake Apperley for 1 (7 balls), 87-5.

Luke Callow was the next man in but with only one run added he was caught and bowled by Joshua Sackfield for 1 (5 balls), 88-6, Dary Wearing replaced Callow but soon lost his partner Sam Dutton bowled by Joshua Sackfield for 29 (41 balls)(3x4), 95-7.

Sam Henderson came in but was run out by Jake Apperley for 0 (3 balls), 97-8. Number ten Ben Carr joined Darly Wearing but with only seven runs added Joshua Sackfield claimed his fifth wicket Daryl Wearing caught by Joshua Rolinson for 7 (23 balls), 104-9.

In at eleven was Gary Collins and with Carr saw Barrow close on 120-9 in their 34 overs, Ben Carr was 7no (24 balls and Gary Collins 8no (13 balls).)

Joshua Sackfield took 5-32 from 11 overs, Jake Apperley 2-28 off 10, Daniel Howard 1-23 from 7 and Joshua Rolinson 0-31 off 6.

The visitors reply got off to a disastrous start losing five wickets for sixteen runs, both openers went with the score on 5, Joshua Rolinson was caught by Toby Mowat off Sam Henderson for 4 (6 balls), 5-1, Joshua Sackfield followed caught by Toby Mowat off Daryl Wearing for 0 (2 balls), 5-2.

The two new batsmen were Kai Collinge and Josh Borrell, Josh Borrell was soon out lbw to Sam Henderson for 1 (7 balls), 9-3, Daryl Wearing then struck with two quick wickets, Kai Collinge caught by Toby Mowat for 4 (15 balls), 15-4, one run later incoming batsman Richard Jenkinson was lbw for 0 (6 balls), 16-5.

Sam Curwen and Christopher Hedges had the job of rebuilding the innings, Sam Henderson had other ideas bowling Sam Curwen for 8 (33 balls)(2x4), 22-6. Daniel Howard joined Christoper Hedges and they had doubled the score when Christopher Hedges fell lbw to Darly Wearing for 11 (38 balls), 44-7.

Jake Apperley replaced Hedges but was soon out stumped by Drew Postlethwaite off Dikshan Vairagi for 3 (5 balls), 47-8. Ethan Elphick was the new batsman and with Daniel Howard were scoring at a good rate until Ethan Elphick was caught by Gary Collins off Dikshant Vairagi for 20 (10 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 85-9.

One run later number eleven Anthony Ellison was bowled by Gary Collins for 0 (9 balls) as Thornton Cleveleys were bowled out for 86 in 27.5 overs with Daniel Howard 31no (37 balls)(4x4, 1x6).

The Barrow opening bowlers did the damage, Daryl Wearing 4-17 from 11 overs, Sam Henderson 3-23 off 10 supported by Dikshant Vairagi 2-19 from 4 and Gary Collins 1-26 off 2.5.

Carnforth v Carlisle

Carnforth lost the toss at Lodge Quarry and were put in to bat, they got off to a bad start losing two wickets with the score on nine, Brodie Glendinning did the damage with two wickets in one over, Lewis Spurr was caught by Nico Watt for 0 (7 balls), 9-1, four balls later Bradley Hoyle was caught by Matthew Brown for 0 (4 balls), 9-2.

James Park-Johnson was the new batsman and with Freddie Whatmuff took the score to 51 when James Park-Johnson fell lbw to Nico Watt for 14 (33 balls)(2x4), 51-3, Dylan Conroy joined Whatmuff and were approaching the hundred when Dylan Conroy was caught by Ben Davidson off Jared Kuhl for 26 (24 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 97-4.

Chris Park-Johnson replaced Conroy and with Whatmuff leading the way moved the score along, Ben Davidson broke the partnership having Chris Park-Johnson caught and bowled for 4 (15 balls), 130-5.

Shane Dixon was the new batsman and he was scoring at a run a ball but lost his partner Freddie Whatmuff bowled by Nico Watt for 74 (135 balls)(9x4), 186-6. next in was Zack Dodds who supported Dixon until with three overs to go two wickets went in Ben Davidson's over, Zack Dodds was caught behind by Tom Benn for 16 (13 balls)(2x6), 215-7. Romario Brathwaite came in scored nine in three balls then was stumped by Tom Benn, 9 (4 balls)(1x6), 225-8.

Carnforth were going for the runs and Shane Dixon was next out caught by Jared Kuhl off Brodie Glendinning for 55 (54 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 225-9.

Tom Parkinson and Jack Thompson were the last pair, Jack Thompson was bowled by Bruce Davidson for 4 (6 balls) as Carnforth were bowled out for 236 in 49.4 overs with Tom Parkinson 7no (3 balls).

Ben Davidson took 4-68 from 12.4 overs with Brodie Glendinning 3-54 off 13, Nico Watt 2-44 from 14, Jared Kuhl 1-18 off 2 and Johnny Westgarth 0-45 from7.

The Carlisle reply got off to a bad start losing Marc Brown caught behind by Shane Dixon off James Park-Johnson for 0 (1 ball), 5-1. Matthew Brown came in at three, James Park-Johnson struck again, Tom Benn suffering the same fate as his opening partner, caught behind by Shane Nixon for 11 (21 balls)(2x4), 26-2.

Muhammed Jamal was the new batsman and with Brown were looking good, their partnership of 131 was broken with the run out of Matthew Brown by Shane Dixon for 61 (85 balls)(9x4), 157-3.

Ben Davidson replaced Brown but he was run out by Lewis Spurr for 6 (15 balls), 170-4, Alex Raybould was the new batsman, he was soon out bowled by Dylan Conroy for 2 (7 balls), 181-5, next in was Brodie Glendinning and with Jamal were swinging the game in the visitors favour when he fell lbw to Jack Thompson for 21 (38 balls)(3x4), 218-6.

Nico Watt was next in but just eleven runs short of victory lost Muhammed Jamal caught by Freddie Whatmuff off James Park-Johnson for 93 (123 balls)(9x4, 2x6), 226-7. Logan Edgar joined Nico Watt and hit three fours to claim victory for Carlisle closing on 239-7 in 47.5 overs with Nico Watt 4no (1 ball).

The Carnforth bowling was James Park-Johnson 3-63 from 15 overs, Jack Thompson 1-25 off 2.5, Dylan Conroy 1-59 from 15, Zack Dodds 0-14 off 4, Tom Parkinson 0-23 from 4, Freddie Whatmuff 0-24 off 4 and Romario Brathwaite 0-24 from 3.

Euxton v St Annes

Euxton won the toss at Balshaw Park in a 96 over game and invited the visitors to bat first, they had early success Nathan Armstrong caught behind by Jack Morgan off Joseph Barker for 1 (3 balls), 17-1.

The St Annes number three was Madhav Kaushik, he had reached 9 (10 balls)(2x4) when he was caught by Ben Houghton off James Bone, 40-2. Luke Jardine joined Lukman Vahaluwla and they were approaching the hundred when Lukman Vahaluwala was caught by Louis Sweeney off Joseph Barker for 54 (68 balls)(6x4, 1x6), 91-3.

Ashton Charles was the new batsman and with Luke Jardine were making steady progress until he was caught by Josh Tolley off James Bone for 18 (30 balls)(3x4), 126-4. next in was Alex Urquhart who kept the scoreboard ticking over, he was the next man out caught by Ben Houghton off Olly Hyde for 14 (30 balls), 165-5.

Jevan Isidore replaced Urquhart and was scoring at a run a ball until he was bowled by Joseph Barker for 23 (21 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 214-6. Luke Jardine had been holding the innings together but with just over two overs left he was caught by Ben Houghton off Louis Sweeney for 88 (113 balls)(9x4, 2x6), 218-7.

We had two new batsmen Ryan Birkman and Mitch Bolus, with only three runs added Mitch Bolus was caught behind by Jack Morgan off Joseph Barker for 1 (2 balls), 221-8.

Number ten was Rory Urquhart run out for 0 (1 ball) in the last over, James Bradley came in scored one run and left Ryan Birkman to hit a six off the last ball as St Annes closed on 230-9 in their 48 overs, Ryan Birkman was 11no (10 balls)(1x6) and James Bradley 1no (1 ball).

Joseph Barker took 4-56 from 12 overs, James Bone 2-66 off 13, Olly Hyde 1-18 from 5, Louis Sweeney 1-46 from 11 and Ben Houghton 0-32 off 7.

Josh Tolley and Max Harper were the Euxton openers, Josh Tolley was the first man out caught by Ashton Charles off Mitch Bolus for 11 (14 balls)(2x4), 24-1,James Bone was in at three and with Harper took the score past the hundred, Alex Urquhart broke the partnership, James Bone lbw for 39 (77 balls)(4x4), 108-2.

Hakeem Perryman was the new batsman but was soon out caught by Ryan Birkman off Rory Urquhart for 1 (6 balls), 112-3, Ben Houghton was next in, disaster struck for the home side with the loss of their last seven wickets for ten runs.

Max Harper was the first to go bowled by Rory Urquhart for 55 (101 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 132-4, Will Joy came to the wicket but lost his partner Ben Houghton caught by Alex Urquhart off Madhav Kaushik for 12 (13 balls)(2x4), 132-5, Mark Winrow joined Joy but with only one run added was bowled by Lukman Vahaluwala for 1 (4 balls), 133-6.

Jack Morgan was the new batsman, Madhav Kaushik then took two wickets in one over, Will Joy bowled for 0 (3 balls), 133-7. in came Joseph Barker bowled for 0 (5 balls), 134-8. Lukman Vahaluwala then cleaned up the tail, bowling Jack Morgan for 0 (5 balls), 134-9, he then trapped Olly Hyde lbw for 6 (10 balls) as Euxton were bowled out for 142 in 41 overs with Louis Sweeney 2no (7 balls).

All the St Annes bowlers took a wicket lead by Lukman Vahaluwala with 3-39 from 12, supported by Madhav Kaushik 3-40 off 12, Rory Urquhart 2-14 from 6, Alex Urquhart 1-23 off 4 and Mitch Bolus 1-26 from 7.

Mawdesley v Penwortham

Penwortham won the toss at Rectory Field and asked the hosts to take first knock, Ryan Roberts made an early breakthrough bowling Ben Munslow for 7 (18 balls), 15-1.

Aneeq Hassan was the hosts number three and was going steadily along until he was bowled by Ryan Roberts for 14 (25 balls)(3x4), 39-2. Daniel Unsworth was next in and with Fyffe Dennis took the score past 50 only for Daniel Unsworth to fall caught by Joseph Bradshaw off Ashley Billington for 8 (23 balls), 55-3.

Lee Berrie replaced Unsworth but with only four runs added Fyffe Dennis was caught by Nathan Walmsley off Ryan Maddock for 13 (65 balls), 59-4. Oliver Ellicott joined Berrie and they were making progress when two wickets fell for one run, Oliver Ellicott was out lbw to Nathan Walmsley for 6 (24 balls), 87-5, one run later new man Joshua Unsworth suffered the same fate lbw to Ryan Maddock for 0 (8 balls), 88-6.

Trevor Webster came in but soon became Nathan Walmsley's second wicket out caught by Rory Ryding for 5 (16 balls), 97-7, two balls later Joshua Adamson the new batsman was run out by Robbie Sumner for 0 (2 balls), 97-8.

Number ten was Neil O'Malley, he was the next one out caught by Ashley Billington off Nathan Walmsley for 1 (5 balls). 105-9.

The Mawdesley innings came to a close on 116 all out in 42.5 overs with Lee Berrie 37 (65 balls)(5x4) out lbw, Louis Royal was 0no (9 balls).

The Penwortham bowling was Nathan Walmsley 3-14 from 11 overs, Ryan Robert 3-21 off 9.5, Ryan Maddock 2-30 from 8, Ashley Billington 1-17 off 8 and Matthew Finnerty 0-30 from 6.

The Penwortham reply got off to a steady start, Neil O'Malley made the breakthrough having Robbie Sumner caught by Oliver Ellicott for 6 (25 balls), 27-1.

Jonathon Hothersall was in at three, disaster struck for the visitors with the loss off three wickets for two runs, opener Ryan Dimasi was bowled by Joshua Adamson for 35 (37 balls)(2x4, 3x6), 47-2, next in was Ryan Maddock who lost his partner Jonathon Hothersall bowled by Neil O'Malley for 6 (14 balls), 47-3.

The new batsman was Joseph Bradshaw but with only two runs added Ryan Maddock was bowled by Joshua Adamson for 0 (5 balls), 49-4. Rory Ryding joined Bradshaw, matters just got worse with the loss of three wickets on the same score, Oliver Ellicott took two wickets in the same over, Joseph Bradshaw caught by Trevor Webster for 16 (19 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 67-6, next in Harish Humsa caught behind by Fyffe Dennis of 0 (4 balls), 67-6. Ryan Ryding followed lbw to Neil O'Malley for 3 (27 balls), 67-7.

We now had two new batsmen Nathan Walmsley and Ashley Billington who six runs later were both out, Neil O'Malley had Nathan Walmsley caught behind by Fyffe Dennis for 2 (9 balls), 73-8, Ashley Billington was bowled by Oliver Ellicott for 3 (15 balls), 73-9.

The Penwortham innings came to a close on 81 all out in 32.2 overs with Oliver Ellicott bowling Matthew Finnerty for 3 (19 balls) leaving Ryan Roberts 5no (20 balls).

Oliver Ellicott took 4-10 from 7.2 overs, Neil O'Malley 4-41 off 15, Joshua Adamson 2-29 from 9 and Aneeq Hassan 0-1 off 1.

Vernon Carus v Great Eccleston

Vernon Carus won the toss at Factory Lane and put the visitors into bat, Matthew Timms took an early wicket Will Thistlethwaite caught behind by Haren Shetty for 4 (12 balls), 10-1. Alexander Rhodes came in at three and with Nisanth Nithian were going well when he was caught by Matthew Timms off Muhammad Patel for 28 (28 balls)(5 x4), 49-2.

Mohamed Nadeem was next in but soon lost Nisanth Nithian caught by Oliver Whalley off Jacob Holland for 27 (38 balls)(3x4), 68-3. the incoming batsman was Muhammed Fazil but he was quickly out caught behind by Haren Shetty off Muhammad Patel for 0 (7 balls), 84-4.

Rishit Sharma joined Mohamed Nadeem and they took the score past the hundred when disaster struck Mohamed Nadeem was run out by Daniel Gray for 34 (49 balls)(64), 107-5. Joe McMillan was the incoming batsman but was soon out bowled by Jacob Holland for 3 (12 balls), 114-6.

Will Turnbull replaced McMillan and were going well when the wheels came off losing their last four wickets for five runs, Muhaammad Patel started the collapse having Rishit Sharma caught by Jaxon Cornford for 24 (57 balls)(3x4), 144-7. one run later new batsman Sandeep Gorige was bowled by Muhammad Patel for 0 (1 ball), 145-8.

Number ten was Phil Booth who fell caught behind by Haren Shetty off David Fisher for 0 (5 balls), 146-9. The Penwortham innings came to a close on 149 all out in 42.2 overs with Will Turnbull being caught by Muhammad Patel off David Fisher for 16 (43 balls)(2x4), last man Jim Proctor was 1no (5 balls).

Muhammad Patel took 4-31 from 10 over, David Fisher 2-8 off 3.2, Jacob Holland 2-32 from 14, Matthew Timms 1-34 off 5, Jaxon Cornford 0-16 from 5 and Ian Dunn 0-26 off 5.

The Vernon Carus reply got off to a bad start losing Hasan Zaman caught behind by Will Thistlethwaite off Phil Booth for 1 (8 balls), 1-1. Haren Shetty joined Matthew Timms and they took over and remained undefeated to see the hosts home on 150-1 in 25.2 overs, Matthew Timms was 81no (62 balls)(10x4, 3x6) with Haren Shetty 52no (82 balls)(2x4).
