The Northern Cricket League Review

The Northern Premier League 2025 season Round 8. Kendal defeat Fulwood & Broughton and go top after defeats for Garstang and Netherfield. Longridge beat Garstang, Netherfield lose by one run to Settle. there were also wins for Blackpool and Leyland

Fleetwood are losing ground at the bottom.

In Division 2 St Annes make it eight out of eight, Carlisle and Euxton are at two and three on the same points, Barrow and Vernon Carus were the other winners on the day.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 8

Fleetwood v Blackpool

Blackpool won the toss at Broadwater and chose to bat first, Kasim Munir and Ben Howarth opened, Ben Howarth went early caught behind by Harry McAleer off Hassan Mughal for 10 (15 balls)(1x6), 17-1.

Andrew Needham came in at three and with Munir moved the score along until he was caught behind by Harry McAleer off Jeremey Davies for 10 (19 balls), 42-2. Joshua Boyne was the new batsman but soon lost Kasim Munir caught behind by Harry McAleer off Jeremy Davies for 17 (43 balls)(3x4), 52-3.

The man next in was Ali Usman but he was out lbw to Matthew Siddall for 7 (29 balls), 83-4. Dylan Henshall joined Joshua Boyne and they were going well, Declan Clerkin broke the partnership having Dylan Henshall caught and bowled for 51 (41 balls)(3x4, 5x6), 149-5.

Omar Tauqir came to the wicket but was Declan Clerkin's next wicket lbw for 7 (24 balls), 17-6, Jake Muncaster replaced Tauqir but was quickly out bowled by Matthew Siddall for 0 (4 balls), 171-7. Matthew Grindley was the new batsman but with only two runs added saw Joshua Boyne out caught by Andy Drake off Declan Clerkin for 48 (83 balls)(4x4), 173-8.

Matthew Siddall cleaned up the Blackpool tail bowling Matthew Grindley for 1 (7 balls), 175-9 he then had number eleven Jamie Thomson caught by Woody Wilson for 0 (4 balls) as Blackpool were bowled out for 179 in 46.1 overs with Arran Lewin 6no (10 balls).

The Fleetwood bowling was Matthew Siddall 4-48 from 12.1 overs, Declan Clerkin 3-30 off 9, Jeremy Davies 2-27 from 7, Hassan Mughal 1-18 off 5, Michael Rippon 0-25 from 7 and Luke Wilkinson 0-29 off 6.

The hosts got off to a bad start losing Tomas King in the second over bowled by Jamie Thomson for 1 (3 balls), 4-1, The man in at three was Harry McAleer but was soon out caught by Dylan Henshall off Jamie Thomson for 0 (11 balls), 19-2, Matthew Grindley struck taking two wickets in an over, bowling new man Michael Rippon for 0 (6 balls), 20-3, four balls later having Charlie Clark caught by Omar Tauqir for 0 (4 balls) 22-4.

Andy Drake joined Jeremy Davies and they began to rebuild the innings, Joshua Boyne broke the partnership having Jeremy Davies caught behind by Ben Howarth for 23 (81 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 69-5. Declan Clekin was next in but fell one run later caught by Kasim Munir off Ali Usman for 0 (3 balls), 70-6.

Wood Wilson replaced Clerkin but disaster for the hosts with Ali Usman taking two wickets in two balls, he bowled Andy Drake for 28 (72 balls)(4x4), 87-7, Hassan Mughal followed next ball caught and bowled for 0 (1 ball), 87-8.

Matthew Siddall came to the wicket and with Wilson took the score past the hundred when he was out caught by Joshua Boyne off Arran Lewin for 4 (12 balls), 105-9. Number eleven Luke Wilkinson was the last man out lbw to Ali Usman for 3 (15 balls) as Fleetwood were bowled out for 122 in 42.4 overs with Woody Wilson 22no (51 balls)(4x4).

All the Blackpool bowlers took a wicket lead by Ali Usman 4-29 from 13.4 overs, with Matthew Grindley 2-15 off 8, Jamie Thomson 2-31 from 10, Arran Lewin 1-4 off 3 and Joshua Boyne 1-28 from 8.

Garstang v Longridge

Longridge won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and elected to bat first, They lost Joshua Mullin off the first ball of the second over bowled by Corey Cater for 0 (1 ball), 12-1.

Luke Platt was in at three and with Taariq Chiecktey were going along nicely until Tom Higson was brought on to bowl and with the last ball of his first over he trapped Taariq Chiecktey lbw for 28 (41 balls)(4x4), 62-2, Zac Christie was next in and was finding runs hard to come by, he lost his partner Luke Platt caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Sumit Ruikar for 37 (56 balls), 77-3.

Zach Proctor came to the wicket but with only nine runs added two wickets fell, Zach Proctor was caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Tom Higson for 2 (18 balls), 86-4, the struggling Zac Christie was next out caught by Ernie Collinson off Sumit Ruikar for 9 (67 balls), 88-5.

We now had two new batsmen Tom Howarth and Kieran McClintock and they took the score past the hundred, Ernie Collinson was introduced into the attack and in his second over had Tom Howarth caught by Joseph Pearson for 15 (34 balls), 103-6. Rhys Morgan replaced Howarth but quickly became wicket number two for Ernie Collinson lbw for 0 (7 balls), 105-7.

Gabriel Dowthwaite joined Kieran McClintock and they saw the visitors reach 164-7 in their 50 overs, Kieran McClintock was 33no (39 balls)(2x4)(1x6) and Gabriel Dowthwaite 27no (40 balls)(2x4).

Ernie Collinson took 2-20 from 6 overs, Sumit Ruikar 2-24 off 15, Tom Higson 2-26 from 14, Corey Cater 1-28 off 6, Michael Walling 0-15 from 2, Ian Wallin 0-17 off 4 and Danny Gilbert 0-27 from 3.

The Garstang reply got off on the wrong foot losing both openers early, Tom Higson went off the first ball of the innings bowled by Jonathan Millward for 0 (1 ball), 0-1, Joseph Pearson came in at three and saw Michael Walling fall bowled by Kieran McClintock for 2 (5 balls), 11-2.

Mark Walling was in next and with Pearson began to repair the damage, Ollie Mullin changed things take two wickets in three balls, he bowled Joseph Pearson for 10 (36 balls), 39-3. two balls later incoming batsman Sumit Ruikar was caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey for 0 (2 balls), 39-4.

Thing got worse for the hosts with the loss of two wickets for one run, new batsman Matthew Crowther was caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey off Tom Howarth for 1 (3 balls), 44-5, Dan Curwen joined Walling but one run later he was out lbw to Ollie Mullin for 0 (5 balls), 45-6. Ernie Collinson replaced Curwen and with Mark Walling doubled the score, Gabriel Dowthwaite broke the partnership having Ernie Collinson caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey for 14 (52 balls), 91-7.

Ian Walling came to the wicket but soon became Gabriel Dowthwaite's second wicket caught by Luke Platt for 7 (13 balls), 107-8. Danny Gilbert was Mark Walling's new partner and they were beginning to look a threat until both fell on the same score, Danny Gilbert fell lbw to Ollie Mullin for 10 (23 balls), 136-9. in the next over Mark Walling's fighting innings came to an end caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey off Kieran McClintock for 64 (118 balls)(7x4) as Garstang were bowled out for 136 in 43.1 overs number eleven Corey Cater was 0no (1 ball).

Each of the Longridge bowlers took a wicket, Ollie Mullin 4-37 from 11 overs, Kieran McClintock 2-30 off 6.1, Gabriel Dowthwaite 2-32 from 8, Jonathan Millward 1-11 off 3 and Tom Howarth 1-24 from 15.

Kendal v Fulwood & Broughton

Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and decided to take first knock, their opening pair Maximus Winskill and Darren Nightingale gave them a good foundation, Maxiimus Winskill was the first out caught by Dom Jackson for 25 (40 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 55-1.

Finlay Richardson was in at three but fell five runs later caught behind by James McWilliam off Cameron Port for 1 (5 balls), 60-2. Cole Abrahams was in next and they were keeping the score moving nicely, Lewis Wellings claimed his second wicket bowling Darren Nightingale for 49 (40 balls)(4x4, 4x6), 88-3.

Freddie Fallows joined Abrahams and they were making good progress until Cameron Port bowled Freddie Fallows for 24 (19 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 133-4. the new man in was Bradley Earl who was scoring at a run a ball, he was out caught by Cameron Port off Todd Winder for 20 (19 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 161-5. James Bowman replaced Earl but lost his partner Cole Abrahams bowled by Ewen Mansford for 41 (54 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 177-6.

The incoming batsman was Harry Temperton but with only four runs added he was caught and bowled by James Lupton for 0 (2 balls), 181-7. Sam Sharp was in next but when the score had just pasted the two hundred Ewen Mansford had James Bowman caught by Ben Parkinson for 22 (34 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 204-8.

Louis Backhouse was Sam Sharp's new partner but qucikly became Ewen Mansford's next wicket bowled for 5 (7 balls), 216-9. The Kendal innings came to a close on 223 in 41.1 overs with Sam Sharp bowled by Ewen Mansford for 21 (25 balls(2x4, 1x6) with number eleven Joseph Dodds 0no (3 balls).

Ewen Mansford took 4-23 from 6.1 overs, Lewis Wellings 2-53 off 12, Cameron Port 2-72 from 11, James Lupton 1-18 off 3, Todd Winder 1-22 from 6 and Dom Jackson 0-32 off 3.

The visitors reply got off to a poor start losing both openers cheaply, Matt Smith was first out caught by Harry Temperton off Louis Backhouse for 1 (4 balls), 6-1. Ewen Mansford was out soon after bowled by Sam Sharp for 7 (14 balls), 13-2.

The two new batsmen were Ben Parkinson and Ben Rosbottom, Louis Backhouse struck again bowling Ben Parkinson for 10 (21 balls), 35-3. James McWilliam replaced Parkinson but lost Ben Rosbottom caught by Bradley Earl off Freddie Fallows for 19 (42 balls), 53-4

Lewis Wellings came to the wicket but with only six runs added James McWilliam fell lbw to Bradley Earl for 9 (26 balls), 59-5.

Cameron Port was the next man in and again with only four runs added he was run out by Louis Backhouse for 0 (5 balls), 63-6.

Dom Jackson joined Lewis Wellings but did not last long bowled by Freddie Fallows for 4 (4 balls), 68-7. Bradley Earl then mopped up the tail, he bowled James Lupton for 5 (5 balls), 75-8, he then took two wickets in two balls to close the innings, Mayank Singh was bowled for 0 (2 balls), 79-9. next ball Todd Winder was bowled for 0 (1 ball) as Fulwood & Broughton were bowled out for 79 in 24.3 overs leaving Lewis Wellings stranded on 13no (23 balls)(2x4).

Bradley Earl had figures 4-21 from 5.3 overs, Louis Backhouse 2-15 off 8, Freddie Fallows 2-18 from 6 and Sam Sharp 1-21 off 5./p>

Leyland v Chorley

Chorley won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and chose to bat first, They got off to a fair start losing Miller Childs caught by Sam Oldham off Ross Bretherton for 11 (16 balls)(2x4), 24-1.

Edwin Moulton was the Chorley number three and with Stuart Naden kept the scoreboard ticking over, Ross Bretherton took his second wicket having Stuart Naden caught by Sam Oldham for 17 (54 balls), 67-2. Keegan Petersen was the new batsmen and with Moulton were making good progress, Andrew Jacques broke the partnership trapping Edwin Moulton lbw for 58 (117 balls)(6x4, 1x6), 132-3.

Next in was Maxwell Seedall, the visitors had a disastrous three overs losing three wickets, Luke Hands was brought into the attack and in his first over had Keegan Petersen caught behind by Adam Sexton for 36 (45 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 146-4.

Will Moulton joined Seedall but was soon out caught by Alexander Eyre off Ned Patterson for 3 (7 balls), 149-5. Joseph Tiffin was the new batsman but only one run added was run out by Michael Pallett for 0 (3 balls), 150-6. Ben Simpkins replaced Tiffin and raised the run rate, Maxwell Seedall was the next man out caught by Ned Patterson off Luke Hands for 24 (24 balls)(2x4, 2x6), 173-7.

We were now into the last three overs and in going for the runs the wickets fell, Ned Patterson claimed his second wicket Ben Simpkins caught by Luke Hands for 20 (15 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 196-8, Joe Dunn was run out by Luke Hands for 2 (4 balls), 196-9.

Matt Dawson joined Sam Steeple. Ned Patterson had Sam Steeple caught by Sam Oldham for 1 (7 balls) as Chorley were bowled out for 208 in 49.4 overs with Matt Dawson 5no (7 balls).

Leyland only used four bowlers and they all took a wicket, Ned Patterson took 3-41 from 9.4 overs, Ross Brotherton 2-38 off 15, Luke Hands 2-69 from 10 and Andrew Jacques 1-54 off 15.

Reiss Carrington and Alexander Eyre opened for the hosts, They got off to a quick start, Reiss Carrington was the first man out in the third over caught by Miller Childs off Edwin Moulton for 20 (14 balls)(5x4), 25-1.

Sam Oldham came in at three but was soon out bowled by Edwin Moulton for 1 (8 balls), 31-2, Luke Hands was next in but with only five runs added he was caught by Will Moulton off Joe Dunn for 5 (3 balls), 36-3.

Karl Cross joined Alexander Eyre and they were making progress when Alexander Eyre was run out for 16 (22 balls), 61-4. Jacob Wright came to the wicket but he soon lost his partner Karl Cross caught behind by Ben Simpkins off Sam Steeple for 22 (26 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 75-5.

Ned Patterson joined Jacob Wright and they were going well with Patterson leading the way, Joseph Tiffin made the breakthrough bowling Jacob Wright for 18 (47 balls), 132-6, Ross Bretherton replaced Wright and backed up Patterson until he was out caught behind by Ben Simpkins off Sam Steeple for 7 (34 balls), 169-7.

Adam Sexton came to the wicket with 40 runs required but was soon out lbw to Sam Steeple for 3 (4 balls), 181-8. Michael Pallett was in at ten and dug in leaving the scoring to Ned Patterson, their efforts were rewarded as they reached their target 212 for 8 in 43.1 overs, Ned Patterson was hero with 94no (78 balls)(11x4, 3x6) with Michael Pallett 8no (25 balls).

The Chorley bowling was Sam Steeple 3-47 from 10 overs, Edwin Moulton 2-35 off 8, Joseph Tiffin 1-31 from 7.1, Joe Dunn 1-41 off 7, Miller Childs 0-14 from 1 and Matt Dawson 0-19 off 3.

Settle v Netherfield

Settle won the toss at the Marshfield ground and decided to bat first, openers William Davidson and Benjamin Hulse gave them a great start with an opening partnership of 109 broken when Benjamin Hulse was out lbw to Cole Mcconchie for 21 (73 balls)(2x4).

Zane Nirodi was in at three , William Davidson was approaching his century when he was bowled by Cole Mcconchie for 98 (68 balls)(9x4, 7x6), 132-2, Gautam Waghela was the new batsman but he lost Zane Nirodi lbw to Reece Irving for 11 (19 balls)(2x4), 140-3.

Amar Ullah came to the wicket but with only one run added Gautam Waghela was caught behind by Will Beeden off Cole Mcconchie for 2 (7 balls), 141-4.

Will Vause joined Ullah but Cole Mcconchie struck again having Amar Ullah caught behind by Will Beeden for 2 (14 balls). John Davidson was the new batsman and on reaching 13 (20 balls) was caught by Reece Irving off Oli Wileman , 176-6.

James Snowden replaced Davidson but with only eight runs added was caught and bowled by Oli Wileman for 10 (22 balls), 184-8. Joe Pickles came in at nine, Will Vause had been keeping one end going but he was out next caught by Ben Barrow off Oli Wileman for 28 (58 balls)(3x4), 196-8.

Eddy Read was next in but soon became Oli Wileman's fourth wicket caught by Ben Barrow for 8 (8 balls), 213-9, Naoh Smith joined Joe Pickles and they saw Settle close on 215-9 in their 50 overs, Joe Pickles was 10no (22 balls) and Noah Smith 1no (3 balls),

For Netherfield Oli Wileman took 4-28 from 12 overs, Cole Mcconchie 4-55 off 15, Reece Irving 1-8 from 3, Josh Wills 0-25 off 3, Isaac Medhurst 0-40 from 10 and Matt Jackson 0-52 off 7.

The visitors opening pair Ben Barrow and Reece Irving got off to a good start and were going well until Amar Ullah was brought into the attack, in his first over he had Ben Barrow caught by James Snowden for 26 (35 balls)(4x4), 57-1.

Cole Mcconchie was number three, Amar Ullah struck again having Reece Irving caught by Will Vause for 26 (35 balls)(4x4), 68-2. John Huck was the new batsman, the score was approaching the hundred when John Huck fell lbw to Amar Ullah for 9 (25 balls), 96-3.

Richard Everett was in next and with Mcconchie had a partnership of 87 broken when Richard Everett was caught by Eddy Read off Benjamin Hulse for 33 (67 balls)(3x4), 183-4.

Josh Dixon replaced Everett and with Mcconchie took the score to 206 with two overs to go, nine runs required with six wickets in hand, William Davidson with his third ball bowled Cole Mcconchie for 77 (105 balls)(2x4, 3x6), 206-5.

Will Beeden came to the wicket and scored four runs off the remaining three balls, Gautam Waghela bowled the last over six runs required with five wickets in hand, Josh Dixon took a run off the first ball, five required, Will Beeden was run out by Will Vause on the second run, 212-6. four required, Gautam Waghela bowled new man Oli Wileman first ball for 0 212-7, still four required. three balls left. Josh Wills took a run off the next ball three required, Josh Dixon took a run two required off the last ball, Josh Wills was run out for 1 (2 balls) as Settle won by one run as Netherfield closed on 214-8 in their 50 overs with Josh Dixon 12no (18 balls).

The Settle bowlng was Amar Ullah 3-45 from 15 overs, Benjamin Hulse 1-16 off 3, William Davidson 1-39 from 9, Gautam Waghela 1-68 off 15 and Eddy Read 0-36 from 8.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 8

Barrow v Mawdesley

Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and chose to bat first, Simon Chadd was an early victim caught by Aneeq Hassan for 2 (8 balls), 7-1.

Number three was Sam Dutton but lost Drew Postlethwaite bowled by Joshua Adamson for 13 (14 balls)(2x4), 22-2. the new batsman was Dikshant Vairagi, they had nearly doubled the score when Sam Dutton was caught by Joshua Adamson off Oliver Ellicott for 8 (28 balls), 43-3.

Toby Mowat joined Vairagi but shortly afterwards two wickets fell for one run, Joshua Adamson had Dikshant Vairagi lbw for 19 (19 balls), 56-4, next in Jack Singleton fell one run later lbw to Oliver Ellicott for 0 (2 balls), 57-3.

Cameron McDougal replaced Singleton but with only six runs added was bowled by Oliver Ellicott for 5 (14 balls), 63-6. Glenn Kermode joined Mowat and were approaching the hundred when Oliver Ellicott struck again having Toby Mowat caught by Aneeq Hassan for 19 (48 balls), 94-7.

Daryl Wearing was the new batsman but was soon out caught and bowled by Kasim Masood for 6 (8 balls), 107-9. Oliver Elllicott bowled the next over and claimed his fifth wicket Glenn Kermode caught by Aneeq Hassan for 20 (48 balls)(3x4), 107-9.

Sam Henderson and Gary Collins were the last pair, Kasim Masood bowled Sam Henderson for 4 (7 balls) as Barrow were bowled out for 111 in32.5 overs with Gary Collins 0no (2 balls).

Oliver Ellicott took 5-43 from 15 overs, Joshua Adamson 2-39 off 12, Kasim Masood 2-11 from 4.5 and Edward Hurst 0-15 off 1.

The Mawdesley reply did not start very well losing four early wickets, Daniel Unsworth and Aneeq Hassan opened but Daryl Wearing soon accounted for Daniel Unsworth bowling him for 8 (16 balls), 13-1.

Kasim Masood was in at three, Four runs had been added when Aneeq Hassan was bowled by Sam Henderson for 8 (14 balls)(2x4), 17-2, Nathan Trengove was in next, disaster struck for the visitors losing two wickets on the same score, Nathan Trengove was run out by Jack Singleton for 4 (2 balls), 21-3, in the next over Kasim Masood was caught by Sam Henderson off Daryl Wearing for 0 (10 balls), 21-4.

Lee Berrie and Fyffe Dennis were the two new batsmen, the batted carefully and were beginning to take the game in favour of the visitors when Sam Dutton was introduced into the attack and in his first over had Lee Berrie caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite for 31 (49 balls)(7x4), 78-5.

Will Caunce came to the wicket and soon lost his partner Fyffe Dennis lbw to Dikshant Vairagi for 26 (51 balls)(3x4), 87-6, Oliver Ellicott was next in but two runs later Will Caunce was run out by Sam Henderson for 1 (8 balls), 89-7.

Dikshant Vairagi then took charge mopping up the visitors tail, he bowled Edward Hurst, for 4 (10 balls), 93-8, Lewis McKinnon was out lbw for 0 (10 balls), 97-9. finally he bowled Joshua Adamson for 2 (18 balls) as Mawdesley were bowled out for 103 in 36.4 overs with Oliver Ellicott 9no (33 balls).

Dikshant Vairagi took 4-17 from 12.4 overs, Daryl Wearing 2-16 off 7, Sam Dutton 1-20 from 8, Sam Henderson 1-31 off 6 and Gary Collins 0-17 from 3.

Great Eccleston v Carlisle

Carlisle won the toss at Hall Lane and elected to bat first, Zephania Arinaitwe and Tom Benn opened but lost Zephania Arinaitwe after three overs lbw to Alexander Rhodes for 16 (9 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 25-1.

Oliver Spedding came in at three and had doubled the score when Tom Benn was caught by Will Turnbull off Jim Proctor for 22 (26 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 50-2. Kieran Grimshaw was in next and with Spedding were going well until he was caught by Matthew Lawrenson off Phil Booth for 30 (56 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 128-3.

Alex Raybould was the new batsman and he continued to support Oliver Spedding scoring at a run a ball, he was the next man out caught by Will Metcalf off Phil Booth for 31 (31 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 184-4, Jared Kuhl joined Spedding and kept up the run rate until he was caught by Mohamed Nadeem off Mohammad Fazil for 22 (16 balls)(1x4, 2x6), 229-5.

Brodie Glendinning replaced Kuhl but was quickly out caught by Mohamed Nadeem off Alexander Rhodes for 1 (7 balls), Alexander Rhodes two balls later bowed Logan Edgar for 0 (2 balls), 233-7.

Nico Watt came the the wicket and continued to support Oliver Spedding who reached his century and then went on the attack scoring 33 runs in the last two overs as Carlisle closed on 318-7 in their 50 overs with Oliver Spedding 145no (142 balls)(22x4, 4x6) and Nico Watt 19no (16 balls)(1x4, 1x6).

The Great Eccleston bowling was Alexander Rhodes 3-88 from 10 overs, Phil Booth 2-55 off 15, Jim Proctor 1-29 from 6, Mohammad Fazil 1-49 off 5, Mohamed Nadeem 0-30 from 6 and Will Turnbull 0-30 off 4.

The hosts got off to a good start with Nisanth Nithian and Matthew Lawrenson, Matthew Lawrenson was the first to go caught by Ben Purdham off Brodie Glendinning for 24 (45 balls)(2x4), 62-1.

The hosts's number three was Alexander Rhodes who soon lost his partner Nisanth Nithian lbw to Kieran Grimshaw for 42 (49 balls)(9 balls), 78-2. Mohammad Fazil joined Rhodes and they took the score past the hundred only for Alexander Rhodes to fall caught and bowled by Nico Watt for 30 (30 balls)(2x4, 2x6), 112-3.

Mohamed Nadeem was the new batsman and with Fazil were approaching the 150 when Mohamed Nadeem was caught by Logan Edgar off Brodie Glendinning for 14 (29 balls), 149-4. Richard Booth was the new batsman, Brodie Glendinning claimed his third and vital wicket Mohammad Fazil lbw for 35 (54 balls)(4x4), 166-5.

Isaac Crosbie was next in but was bowled by Nico Watt for 7 (18 balls), 180-6, Will Metcalf joined Booth but their partnership was short lived as he was bowled by Jared Kuhl for 0 (10 balls), 192-7.

Will Turnbull replaced Metcalf but lost his partner Richard Booth caught by Kieran Grimshaw off Nico Watt for 29 (29 balls)(3x4), 198-8, in the next over Will Turnbull fell lbw to Jared Kuhl for 0 (6 balls), 198-9.

The last pair were Phil Booth and Jim Proctor but with only ten runs added Phil Booth was caught by Oliver Spedding off Nico Watt for 6 (4 balls) as Great Eccleston were bowled out for 208 in 46.2 overs with Jim Proctor 4no (4 balls).

For Carlisle Nico Watt took 4-73 from 13.2 overs, Brodie Gendinning 3-40 off 8, Jared Kuhl 2-5 from 2, Kieran Greimshaw 1-32 off 7, Johnny Westgarth 0-16 from 6 and Ben Purdham 0-39 off 10.

Penwortham v St Annes

St Annes won the toss at the Middleforth Green ground and decided to bat first, Lukman Vahaluwala and Nathan Armstrong were the openers, Ryan Roberts made the breakthrough having Lukman Vahaluwala caught behind by Robbie Sumner for 9 (12 balls)(2x4), 18-1.

Coming in at three was Nathan Bolus but he was soon out to the Sumner/Roberts combination, caught behind by Robbie Sumner bowled by Ryan Roberts for 5 (18 balls), 26-2. Promod Maduwantha was in next and with Nathan Armstrong were going along nicely. Ryan Maddock struck with two wickets in one over, bowling Nathan Armstrong for 15 (20 balls)(2x4), 42-3, Luke Jardine was the new batsman but was bowled for 0 (5 balls), 42-4.

Jevan Isidore replaced Jardine but did not fare any better out lbw to Ryan Maddock for 5 (6 balls), 50-5. St Annes were in trouble with Thomas Bradley walking to the wicket, He combined with Maduwantha to take control and move the score along, their partnership was 135 when Thomas Bradley fell caught by Ashit Jariwala off Ryan Roberts for 58 (79 balls)(10 x4), 185-6.

Alex Urquhart joined Maduwantha and they kept the runs flowing, Promod Maduwantha reached his century but shortly afterwards Ryan Maddock took two wickets in an over, Promod Maduwantha became his fifth wicket bowled for 105 (108 balls)(12x4, 2x6), 216-7. three balls later new man Ethan Hill was caught by Ian Walmsley Jnr for 0 (3 balls),216-8

James Bradley joined Alex Urquhart and they got to the 49th over when Ryan Maddock claimed his sixth and seventh wickets, number six was Alex Urquhart caught by Ian Walmsley Jnr for 23 (30 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 254-9, next ball he bowled Rory Urquhart for 0 (1 ball) as St Annes were bowled out for 254 in 48.2 overs with James Bradley 5no (9 balls).

Ryan Maddock took 7-53 from 14.2 overs, Ryan Roberts 3-61 off 14, Asit Jariwala 0-16 from 2, Nathan Walmsley 0-35 off 7 and Ashley Billington 0-67 from 11.

Ryan Dimasi and Ian Walmsley Jnr opened the batting and with Ryan Dimasi leading the way made a great start, the introduction of Promod Maduwantha had an immediate reward as the had Ian Wamsley Jnr caught behind by James Bradley for 17 (31 balls)(2x6), 79-1.

The hosts number three was Robbie Sumner who was quickly out bowled by Lukman Vahaluwala for 0 (9 balls), 96-2. Ryan Maddock was in next but lost Ryan Dimasi bowled by Pormod Maduwantha for 60 (46 balls)(6x4, 5x6), 110-3. Joseph Bradshaw joined Maddock and their partnership was 50 when Joseph Bradshaw became wicket number three for Promad Maduwantha caught by Nathan Bolus for 34 (34 balls)(5x4, 1x6), 160-4.

Harish Hamsa replaced Bradshaw but with only nine runs added Ryan Maddock was caught by Thomas Bradley off Lukman Vahaluwala for 18 (44 balls), 169-5. Ryan Roberts was the new batsman but soon lost his partner Haris Hamsa bowled by Rory Urquhart for 14 (23 balls)(3x4), 185-6.

Declan Jones came in next but quickly became wicket number four for Promod Maduwantha caught by Alex Urquhart for 1 (8 balls), 196-7, disaster for the hosts as they lost two wickets in an over, incoming batsman Ashley Billington bowled by Thomas Bradley for 2 (9 balls), 199-8, four balls later number ten Ashit Jariwala was run out by Thomas Bradley for 2 (4 balls), 201-9.

The Penwortham innings came to a close on 220 all out in 46.1 overs with number eleven Nathan Walmsley bowled by Rory Urquhart for 8 (18 balls)(1x6) and Ryan Roberts 22no (52 balls)(2x4, 1x6),

Thornton Cleveleys v Euxton

Thornton Cleveleys won the toss at Illawalla and chose to bat first, Josh Borrell went early bowled by Jack Shovelton for 10 (6 balls)(2x4), 11-1, Sam Curwen was the man in at three and with Joshua Sackfield took the score past 50 when Joseph Barker took four wickets for 0 runs, Joshua Sackfield was his first victim caught by Josh Tolley for 18 (40 balls)(3x4), 53-2, in his next over he took two wickets in three balls, he bowled Richard Jenkinson for 1 (6 balls), 55-3, two balls later Cameron Chisholm was lbw for 0 (2 balls), 55-4. In his next over he had Rick Blampied caught by James Bone for 0 (4 balls), 59-5. Christopher Hedges was next in but with only four runs added lost Sam Curwen caught and bowled by James Bone for 22 (45 balls)(4x4), 63-6.

Joshua Rolinson joined Hedges but six runs later Joshua Rolinson was out lbw to James Bone for 6 (5 balls), 69-7. Jacob Sackfield replaced Rolinson and with Hedges put on 49 runs, Louis Sweeney broke the partnership having Jacob Sackfield caught by Jack Shovelton for 13 (45 balls)(2x4), 118-8.

Coming in at number ten was Rob Dingle who was out one run later lbw to James Bone for 0 (5 balls), 119-9. The Thornton Cleveleys innings closed on 120 all out in 36.3 overs with last man Jake Apperley caught behind by Jack Morgan off Louis Sweeney for 0 (6 balls) leaving Christopher Hedges 34no (56 balls)(7x4).

The Euxton bowling figures were Joseph Barker 4-35 from 8 overs, James Bone 3-33 off 13, Louis Sweeney 2-1 from 2.1, Jack Shovelton 1-17 off 4 and Joseph Bowden 0-32 from 9.

Josh Tolley and Jack Morgan opened for Euxton and went on the attack with Tolley leading the way, he fell caught by J Sackfield off Christopher Hedges for 51 (33 balls)(3x4, 5x6), 84-1.

James Bone joined Morgan and they quickly reached their target of 122-1 in 18.4 overs, Jack Morgan scored the winning runs and brought up his fifty finishing on 50no (62 balls)(9x4) with James Bone 8no (16 balls)(2x4).

Christopher Hedges took 1-32 from 3.4 overs, Joshua Sackfield 0-12 off 3, Joshua Rolinson 0-23 from 6, Cameron Chisholm 0-26 off 2 and Jake Apperley 0-29 from 4

Vernon Carus v Carnforth

Vernon Carus won the toss at Factory Lane and elected to bat first, openers Ian Dunn and Hasan Zaman gave them a great foundation with an opening stand of 105, Ian Dunn was the man out caught and bowled by Stan Rich for 38 (92 balls)(6x4), 105-1.

Haren Shetty was in next and continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over until Hasan Zaman fell caught by James Park-Johnson off Tom Parkinson for 53 (89 balls)(10 x4), 127-2. Wes Royle joined Shetty and their partnership continued to flourish until with three overs to go James Park- Johnson removed both of them in the same over, their stand was 103 when he caught and bowled Wes Royle for 48 (57 balls)(6x4), 230-3. he then had Haren Shetty caught by Bradley Hoyle for 75 (57 balls)(5x4, 5x6), 248-4.

Jaxon Cornford 23no (11 balls)(3x4, 1x6) and Robert Bridges 3no (3 balls) saw Vernon Carus close on 270-4 in their 50 overs.

For Carnforth James Park-Johnson took 2-63 from 15 overs, Stan Rich 1-23 off 6, Tom Parkinson 1-37 from 6, Zack Dodds 0-16 off 2, James Parkinson 0-27 from 5, Romario Brathwaite 0-33 off 3 and Freddie Whatmuff 0-70 from 13.

Carnforth got off to a steady start losing Tom Parkinson bowled by Muhammad Patel for 18 (28 balls)(3x4), 29-1, coming in at three was Ryan Nelson and with Freddie Whatmuff moved the score along until Fraser Young struck with two wickets in the same over, Freddie Whatmuff was the first to go caught and bowled for 10 (35 balls), 57-2, new man James Park-Johnson was out lbw three balls later for 4 (3 balls), 62-3.

Louis Potter joined Nelson and they took the score to 100. The visitors sufferd a terrible collapse as they lost their last seven wickets for five runs. Muhammad Patel started the collapse with two wickets in the same over, Louis Potter went first bowlled for 8 (31 balls), 100-4, four balls later Zack Dodds was bowled for 0 (4 balls), 100-4.

Lee Hodkinson was in next but with only one run added was caught by Jaxon Cornford off Kashif Jamil for 1 (7 balls), 101-6. Stan Rich replaced Hodkinson but four runs later fell lbw to Kashif Jamil.

In the next over Muhammad Patel claimed two wickets in two balls to close the innings on 105 all out in 29.2 overs. he bowled Ryan Nelson for 56 (62 balls)(9x4), 105-8, next ball he claimed his fifth wicket number ten James Parkinson was bowled for 0 (1 ball).105-9, Bradley Hoyle was unable to bat the leaving Romario Brathwaite 0no (1 ball).
