The Northern Premier League 2025 season Round 11

Kendal continue on their winning ways but bottom club Fleetwood gave them a fright, Settle lost to Leyland but remain second and Netherfield beat Longridge and are third. Blackpool defeated Garstang and move up to fifth and Fulwood & Broughton won against Chorley,

In Division 2 St Annes won the 1st v 3rd battle by 2 runs against Carlisle, Euxton won against Vernon Carus to remain second, Penwortham's one run win against Thornton Cleveleys moves them to fourth, Great Eccleston beat Barrow and Carnforth won against Mawdesley.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 11

Blackpool v Garstang

Blackpool won the toss at Stanley Park and elected to bat first, Jake Muncaster and Ben Howarth gave them a good start, Danny Gilbert made the breakthrough having Jake Muncaster caught by Mark Walling for 15 (53 balls), 52-1.

Andrew Needhan was in at three, Sumit Ruikar replaced Corey Cater in the attack and in his second over had Andrew Needham caught behind by Mattew Crowther for 1 (8 balls), 58-2, Ali Usman was the new batsman but soon lost Ben Howarth caught by Tom Higson off Sumit Ruikar for 36 (61 balls)(4x4), 65-3.

Matthew Taafe came to the wicket but with only two runs added Danny Gilbert bowled Ali Usman for 6 (9 balls), 67-4.

Next in was Omar Tauqir who quickly became Sumit Ruikar's third wicket stumped by Matthew Crowther for 1 (2 balls), 68-5.

Kasim Munir replaced Tauqir and with Matthew Taafe leading the way began to rebuild the innings, Ian Walling was introduced into the attack and in his first over bowled Kasim Munir for 9 (52 balls), 99-6.

Stuart Ashford joined Taafe but became wicket number four for Sumit Ruikar stumped by Matthew Crowther for 4 (21 balls), 107-7.

Matthew Grindley came in next and was scoring at a run a ball when he fell caught by Sumit Ruikar off Ian Walling for 10 (10 balls), 126-8.

Arran Lewin was Taafe's new partner and they saw Blackpool close on 142-8 in their 50 overs with Matthew Taafe 43no (84 balls)(2x4, 1x6) and Arran Lewin 1no (4 balls).

The Garstang bowling was Sumit Ruikar 4-29 from 15 overs, Ian Walling 2-19 off 4, Danny Gilbert 2-33 from 15, Corey Cater 0-30 off 8 and Tom Higson 0-30 from 8

Garstang got off to a terrible start losing Tom Higson off the first ball of the innings caught by Arran Lewin off Matthew Grindley for 0 (1 ball) 0-1. Number three was Joseph Pearson but he was soon out bowled by Jamie Thomson for 1 (14 balls), 19-2.

Matthew Crowther joined Michael Wellings and they were making progress until Ali Usman was brought into the attack, in his second over he had Michael Wellings lbw for 28 (46 balls), 46-3. Mark Walling was the new batsman but two runs later lost Matthew Crowther caught behind by Ben Howarth off Jamie Thomson for 10 (38 balls), 48-4.

Sumit Ruikar replaced Crowther but lost Mark Walling caught by Kasim Munir off Ali Usman for 5 (23 balls), 60-5. next in was Dan Curwen but like Walling fell to Ali Usamn lbw for 3 (16 balls), 88-6.

The game was drifting away from the visitors and nine runs later new batsman Ernie Collinson was out lbw to Ali Usman for 4 (7 balls), 97-7. Ian Walling joined Ruikar but four runs later Ali Usman claimed his fifth wicket the vital one of Sumit Ruikar bowled for 39 (56 balls)(6x4), 101-8

Ian Walling and Danny Gilbert were at the crease but the return of Matthew Grindley to the attack had instant success bowling Danny Gilbert for 3 (7 balls), 114-9. Corey Cater came to the wicket but saw Ian Walling fall caught and bowled by Matthew Grindley for 17 (19 balls)(3x4) to give victory to the hosts as Garstang were bowled out for 121 with Cory Cater 1no (7 balls).

Ali Usman took 5-21 from 13 overs, Matthew Grindley 3-35 off 8.3, Jamie Thomson 2-45 from 15 and Arran Lewin 0-16 off 3.

Fulwood & Broughton v Chorley

Chorley won the toss at the Highfield ground and invited the hosts to bat first, They got off to a good start with an opening stand of 55 broken with Sam Steeple bowling Matt Smith for 36 (35 balls)(6x4, 1x6), 55-1.Ben Parkinson was the hosts's number three and with Ewen Mansford doubled the score, Will Moulton made the breakthrough bowling Ben Parkinson for 25 (47 balls)(6x4, 1x6), 114-2.

Ben Rosbotton was next in and with Mansford made steady progress, Stuart Naden was brought into the attack and had Ewen Mansford caught by Kieran Yould for 59 (95 balls)(9x4), 138-3, Simon Kerrigan replaced Mansford but with only four runs added Ben Rosbottom was cauught by Maxwell Seedall off Edwin Moulton for 13 (33 balls), 142-4.

James McWilliam joined Kerrigan and they were going along nicely when Edwin Moulton trapped Simon Kerrigan lbw for 14 (27 balls), 185-5. Muhammad Zaid came to the wicket but did not last long out caught by Will Moulton off Edwin Moulton for 1 (7 balls), 189-6. That was the last success for the visitors as new batsman Lewis Wellings 8no(11 balls) and James McWilliam 68no (47 balls)(6x4, 4x6) saw Fulwood & Broughton close on 235-6 in their 50 overs.

For Chorley Edwin Moulton took 3-66, Sam Steeple 1-23 off 8, Will Moulton 1-48 from 11, Stuart Naden 1-53 off 10 and Miller Childs 0-42 from 7

The Chorley reply got off to a bad start losing three wickets for four runs, Khalil Patel the man doing the damage taking a wicket in three consecutive overs, Maxwell Seedall was the first to go caught and bowled for 4 (8 balls), 17-1, three runs later Miller Childs went the same way caught and bowled for 14 (18 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 20-2, his third wicket was Keegan Petersen caught behind by James McWilliam for 0 (5 balls), 21-3.

The two new batsmen were Edwin Moulton and Will Moulton but with only ten runs added Edwin Moulton was caught behind by James McWilliam off Khalil Patel for 2 (5 balls), 31-4. Alfie Dobson joined Will Moulton and they had doubled the score and were moving on until in Simon Kerrigan's third over he bowled Alfie Dobson for 31 (27 balls)(5x4, 1x6), 78-5.

Kieran Yould replaced Dobson but soon lost Will Moulton, wicket number five for Khalil Patel caught behind by James McWilliam for 25 (42 balls)(5x4), 91-6. Stuart Naden came to the wicket but disaster for the visitors he was run out by James McWilliam for 1 (2 balls), 104-7. Ben Simpkins was the new batman but quickly became another Khalil Patel victim caught by Simon Kerrigan for 0(6 balls), 112-8.

Sam Steeple was Kieran Yould's new partner and with Yould leading the way they were approaching the 150 when Kieran Yould was out caught by Matt Smith off Lewis Wellings for 53 (42 balls)(3x4, 5x6), 148-9.

The Chorley innings closed on 150 all out in 33.5 overs with Sam Steeple out hit wicket off Simon Kerrigan for 8 (24 balls) with number eleven James Lee 1no (4 balls).

Khalil Patel took 6-67 form 15 overs, Simon Kerrigan 2-31 off 6.5, Lewis Wellings 1-2 from 1, Chris Brookes 0-22 off 7 and Cameron Port 0-22 from 4.

Kendal v Fleetwood

Fleetwood won the toss at Shap Road and chose to bat first, Jeremy Davies and Declan Clerkin got them off to a good start Declan Clerkin being the first man out caught by Sam Sharp off Joe Davies for 36 (57 balls)(5x4, 1x6), 69-1.

Harry McAleer came in at three and with Davies were going well approaching the 150 when Jeremy Davies was caught by Sam Sharp off Bradley Earl for 42 (106 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 140-2. Michael Rippon was next in but he soon lost Harry McAleer caught by Bradley Earl off Freddie Fallows for 43 (56 balls)(3x4, 3x6). 153-3.

Charlie Clark replaced McAleer and continued the momentum until he was stumped by Finlay Richardson off Freddie Fallows for 21 (28 balls), 199-4. The next man in was Adam Sharrocks and he lost Michael Rippon in the last over caught by Bradley Earl off Louis Backhouse for 47 (42 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 234-5. Nathan Bend came to the wicket and with Sharrocks saw Fleetwood close on 243-5 in their 50 overs with Adam Sharrocks 22no (11 balls)(2x4, 1x6) and Nathan Bend 1no (1 ball).

The Kendal bowling was Freddie Fallows 2-55 from 15 overs, Bradley Earl 1-12 off 3, Joe Davies 1-24 from 6, Louis Backhouse 1-85 off 13 and Sam Sharp 0-61 from 13.

The Kendal openers Maximus Winskill and Darren Nightingale gave them a very good foundation, Matthew Siddall was introduced into the attack with immediate success having Darren Nightingale caught by Woody Wilson for 37 (37 balls)(1x4,1x6), 82-1. Finlay Richardson came in at three and with Winskill were going well when two wickets fell for one run, Maximus Winskill fell caught behind by Harry McAleer off Matthew Siddall for 53 (66 balls)(4x4), 118-2.

Cole Abrahams was the next man in but with only one run added he was bowled by Michael Rippon for 0 (4 balls), 119-3. Freddie Fallows was the new batsman but disaster for the hosts he was run out by Matthew Siddall for 6 (2 balls), 125-4.

Bradley Earl joined Richardson, Matthew Siddall struck having Finlay Richardson caught by Michael Rippon for 29 (50 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 139-5.

James Bowman replaced Richardson but on reaching 11 (23 balls) became wicket number four for Matthew Siddall caught behind by Harry McAleer, 176-6, Harry Temperton came in but was quickly out lbw to Jeremy Davies for 1 (6 balls), 179-7.

Sam Sharp was Earl's new partner and they looked to be on the road to another win when he was stumped by Harry McAleer off Declan Clerkin for 26 (40 balls)(2x4), 220-8. Louis Backhouse was in at ten and was out three runs short of victory when he fell to the McAleer/Clerkin combination, stumped McAleer bowled Clerkin for 2 (10 balls). 241-9.

Joe Davies in at eleven and the last over, Earl and he both took singles and with the scores level Bradley Earl hit a six to give Kendal the victory closing on 249-9 in 49-4 overs, Bradley Earl was 62no (59 balls)(2x4, 4x6) and Joe Davies 1no 1 (ball).

Matthew Siddall took 4-43 from 15, Declan Clerkin 2-71 off 12, Michael Rippon 1-36 from 6, Jeremy Davies 1-64 off 12.4 and Hassan Mughal 0-27 from 4.

Netherfield v Longridge

Longridge won the toss at Parkside Road and decided to bat first, The lost Luke Platt early lbw to Samuel Medhurst for 0 (2 balls), 8-1. The visitors number three was Kieran McClintock but he was soon out caught by Matt Jackson off Isaac Medhurst for 3 (14 balls), 25-2.

Zac Christie was next in but he too was quickly out caught behind by Will Beeden off Samuel Medhurst for 7 (9 balls), 40-3.

Joshua Holt Jnr was the new batsman and with Chiecktey made steady progress until Taariq Chiecktey was caught by Cole Mcconchie off Matt Jackson for 43 (52 balls)(8x4), 72-4. Tom Howarth joined Holt Jnr and they were going well until Isaac Medurst bowled Joshua Holt Jnr for 45 (74 balls)(8x4, 127-5.)

Gabriel Dowthwaite replaced Holt Jnr and kept the scoreboard ticking over, unfortunately for the visitors he was run out by Will Beeden for 24 (28 balls), 184-6. New man Rhys Morgan was soon out bowled by Samuel Medhurst for 8 (12 balls), 182-7,

Tom Howarth had a new partner in Ollie Mullin and they took the score to two hundred when Tom Howarth was caught by Cole Mcconchie off Samuel Medhurst for 41 (84 balls)(5x4), 201-8. Jake Durnell came in at ten but was out caught behind by Will Beeden off Oli Wileman for 2 (9 balls), 215-9.

The Longridge innings closed without further addition on 215 all out in 49-2 overs with number eleven Jonathan Millward run out for 0 by Oli Wileman, Ollie Mullin was 22no (14 balls)(3x4, 1x6).

For Netherfield Samuel Medhurst took 4-61 from 14 over, Isaac Medhurst 2-46 off 9, Matt Jackson 1-29 from 9, Oli Wileman 1-34 off 8.2, Reece Irving 0-16 from 1 and Cole Mcconchie 0-23 off 8.

Like the visitors the hosts lost an early wicket, Ben Barrow caught by Luke Platt off Jonathan Millward for 1 (9 balls), 4-1. Cole Mcconchie came in at three and with Reece Irving took the score to the hundred when he was out caught by Joshua Holt Jnr off Jake Durnell for 66 (57 balls)(11x4), 104-3.

John Huck replaced Mcconchie and with Irving kept the score moving at a good rate until Jake Durnell bowled Reece Irving for 50 (80 balls)(5x4), 160-3. Richard Everett joined Huck and they scored quickly and saw the hosts home on 216-3 in 35.4 overs, John Huck was 57no (51 balls)(2x4, 5x6) and Richard Everett 21no (23 balls)(2x4, 1x6).

The Longridge bowling was Jake Durnell 2-67 from 12.4 overs, Jonathan Millward 1-26 off 6, Gabriel Dowthwaite 0-23 from 3, Kieran Mcclintock 0-32 off 5, Ollie Mullin 0-32 off 4 and Tom Howarth 0-38 from 5.

Settle v Leyland

Settle won the toss at the Marshfield ground and elected to bat first, William Davidson and Zane Nirodi gave them a good start, William Davidson was the first man out caught by Sam Oldham off Ross Bretherton for 27 (39 balls)(5x4), 45-1.

Amar Ullah was the hosts number three but soon lost Zane Nirodi bowled by Ned Patterson for 26 (38 balls)(5x4), 67-2. Gautam Waghela joined Ullah and they took control with a partnership of 141 broken when Amar Ullah was caught by Lloyd Tennant off Ned Patterson for 65 (78 balls)(3x4, 3x6), 211-3. John Davidson replaced Ullah, Gautam Waghela reached his century and was then out stumped by Adam Sexton off Sam Oldham for 100 (108 balls)(8x4, 3x6), 239-4.

Tom Davidson was the new batsman but with only ten runs added lost John Davidson caught by Reiss Carrington off Andrew Jacques for 9 (18 balls), 249-5. James Snowden came to the wicket with two overs remaining and was quickly out caught by Ned Patterson off Sam Oldham for 1 (2 balls), 252-6.

Benjamin Hulse was next in but was bowled by Andrew Jacques for 1 (2 balls), 263-7. Joe Pickles was in at nine and with Tom Davidson saw Settle close on 275-7 in their 50 overs, Tom Davidson was 30no (14 balls)(3x4, 2x6) and Joe Pickles 1no (1 ball).

The Leyland bowling figures were Andrew Jacques 2-58 from 11 overs, Sam Oldham 2-65 off 13, Ned Patterson 2-75 from 14, Ross Bretherton 1-46 off 8 and Will Smith 0-26 from 4.

The Leyland openers gave the team a good foundation with a partnership of 44, Reiss Carrington was out first caught by Amar Ullah off William Davidson for 19 (28 balls)(2x4), 44-1. Sam Oldham came in at three but was soon out bowled by Eddy Read for 7 (10 balls), 53-2.

Jacob Wright joined Alexander Eyre and took control scoring at a good rate, their partnership was broken by Benjamin Hulse having Jacob Wright caught by Joe Pickles for 92 (85 balls)(7x4, 4x6), 243-3.

Lloyd Tennant replaced Wright, Alexander Eyre reached his century and with Tennant saw the visitors home on 276-3 in 47.1 overs, Alexander Eyre was 128no (150 balls)(11x4, 3x6) and Lloyd Tennant 21no (11 balls)(1x4, 2x6).

For Settle Benjamin Hulse took 1-17 from 3 overs, Eddy Read 1-39 off 5, William Davidson 1-60 from 15, Tom Davidson 0-46 off 7, Gautam Waghela 0-50 from 10 and Amar Ullah 0-62 off 7.1.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 11

Barrow v Great Eccleston

Great Eccleston won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and chose to bat first, They lost Basit Sultan caught by Simon Chadd off Sam Henderson for 16 (29 balls)(2x4), 38-1.

The visitors number three was Alexander Rhodes and with Nisanth Nithian took the score past the hundred, Alexander Rhodes fell lbw to Toby Mowat for 37 (42 balls)(6x4), 115-2. Mohammed Fazil was in next and with Nithian kept the scoreboard ticking over until he was bowled by Simon Chadd for 26 (40 balls)(3x4), 182-3.

Mohamed Nadeem joined Nithian, disaster struck for Nisanth Nithian and the visitors as he fell two short of his century lbw to Simon Chadd for 98 (115 balls)(14x4, 1x6), 197-4.

Joe McMillan came to the wicket and pushed the score along but lost Mohamed Nadeem stumped by Drew Postlethwaite off Simon Chadd for 10 (20 balls), 210-6. Richard Booth was the new batsman and he was scoring at a run a ball when he was stumped by Drew Postlethwaite off Greg Reynolds for 17 (19 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 243-6.

Phil Booth replaced Richard Booth but one run later was caught by Sam Dutton off Dikshant Vairagi for 0 (2 balls), 244-7. Alex Swale came to the crease but lost Joe McMillan caught by Toby Mowat off Greg Reynolds for 37 (28 balls)(6x4), 258-8.

Will Thistlethwaite was in at ten and with Alex Swale saw Great Eccleston close on 263-8 in their 50 overs, Alex Swale was 5no (5 balls) and Will Thistlethwaite 1no (1 ball).

The Barrow bowling was Simon Chadd 3-45 from 7 overs, Greg Reynolds 2-54 off 13, Toby Mowat 1-31 from 7, Sam Henderson 1-34 off 7, Dikshant Vairagi 1-66 from 11 and Daryl Wearing 0-28 off 5.

The Barrow reply saw Simon Chadd fall bowled by Alexander Rhodes for 11 (19 balls), 28-1, Number three was Toby Mowat and with Drew Postlethwaite were going along nicely until Drew Postlethwaite was out lbw to Phil Booth for 33 (56 balls)(4 x4), 85-2.

Dikshant Vairagi was the new batsman but disaster struck for the hosts with Toby Mowat run out by Basit Sultan for 37 (40 balls)(5x4), 99-3. Sam Dutton was next in but soon became Phil Booth's second wicket caught by Joe McMillan for 5 (13 balls), 106-4.

Jack Singleton replaced Dutton but lost his partner Dikshant Vairagi caught by Mohammed Fazil off Mohamed Nadeem for 12 (31 balls), 118-5. one run later new batsman Greg Reynolds was bowled by Phil Booth for 0 (2 balls), 119-6.

Cameron McDougall joined Jack Singleton but he became Phil Booth's fourth victim lbw for 4 (23 balls), 134-7, next in was Matthew Adams who was soon out caught behind by Will Thistlethwaite off Mohamed Nadeem for 2 (5 balls), 139-8

Number ten was Daryl Wearing and with Jack Singleton dug in and moved the score along until Mohamed Nadeem bowled Jack Singleton for 31 (45 balls), 171-9.

Sam Henderson came to the wicket and saw Daryl Wearing fall caught by Nisanth Nithain off Mohammad Fazil for 33 (27 balls)(1x4, 3x6) as Barrow were bowled out for 183 in 46.4 overs with Sam Henderson 0no having not faced a ball.

The bowling figures were Phil Booth 4-48 from 15 overs, Mohamed Nadeem 3-51 off 15, Mohammad Fazil 1-22 from 2.4, Alexander Rhodes 1-23 off 5 and Jim Proctor 0-37 from 9.

Euxton v Vernon Carus

Vernon Carus won the toss at Balshaw Park and invited the hosts to bat first, Josh Tolley and Ben Houghton got off to a good start, Josh Tolley was the first to go caught by Kashif Jamil off Matthew Timms for 32 (33 balls)(8x4), 45-1.

James Bone was the Euxton number three but with only seven runs added Ben Houghton was caught by Kashif Jamil off Jacob Holland for 15 (40 balls)(3x4), 53-2. Max Harper was the next man in and with Bone took the score to the hundred when he was out lbw to Jaxon Cornford for 24 (51 balls)(2x4), 102-3.

Hakeem Perryman was the new batsman and with Bone took the score approaching the two hundred when James Bone was caught by Jacob Holland off Jaxon Cornford for 83 (109 balls)(13X4), 199-4. Jack Shovelton replaced Bone but was soon out caught by Robert Bridges off Jacob Holland for 9 (8 balls)(2x4), 214-5.

Jack Morgan joined Hakeem Perryman but lost Perryman with eight balls left caught by Fraser Young off Jacob Holland for 31 (42 balls)(3x4), 227-6.

Joseph Barker came to the wicket and with Morgan saw Euxton close on 235-6 in their 50 overs. Jack Morgan was 13no (15 balls) and Joseph Barker 5no (4 balls).

The Vernon Carus bowling was Jacob Holland 3-65 from 15 overs, Jaxon Cornford 2-66 off 12, Matthew Timms 1-40 from 12, Fraser Young 0-19 off 4 and Kashif Jamil 0-35 from 7.

The Vernon Carus reply got off to a good start with Hasan Zaman and Will Adams, their partnership was broken by James Bone having Will Adams caught by Jack Shovelton for 16 (47 balls)(2x4), 50-1.

Haren Shetty came in at three and with Zaman were making progress until Hasan Zaman was caught behind by Jack Morgan off Joseph Barker for 40 (79 balls)(6x4), 78-2.

The incoming batsman was Jaxon Cordford and with Shetty were scoring at a good rate until Josh Tolley was brought into the attack, in his first over he bowled Haren Shetty for 62 (74 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 176-3.

Robert Bridges replaced Shetty but was soon out caught by Hakeem Perryman off Joseph Bowden for 12 (11 balls)(2x4), 202-4. next in was Jamie Rigby but with only four runs added lost Jaxon Cornford caught by Ben Houghton off Josh Tolley for 0 (2 balls), 206-5.

Ben Thomas came to the wicket but one run later Jamie Rigby was caught by Ben Houghton off Josh Tolley for 0 (2 balls), 207-6. Jacob Holland joined Ben Thomas but he soon lost him run out by Elliott Mackrael for 6 (4 balls), 212-7.

Matthew Timms came in at nine and with Holland saw the visitors close on223-7 in their 50 overs with Jacob Holland 7no (10 balls) and Matthew Timms 2no (6 balls).

Josh Tolley took 3-20 from 4 overs, Joseph barker 1-15 off 6, James Bone 1-52 from 15, Joseph Bowden 1-67 off 14, Jack Shovelton 0-22 from 6 and Lou9s Sweeney 0-38 off 5

Mawdesley v Carnforth

Mawdesley won the toss at Rectory Field and decided to bat first, Fyffe Dennis and Nathan Trengove gave them a good start, Freddie Whatmuff broke the partnership having Nathan Trengove caught by James Parkinson for 39 (69 balls)(4x4), 78-1.

The hosts had Aneeq Hassan coming in at three but with only three runs added Fyffe Dennis became Freddie Whatmuff's second wicket lbw for 34 (69 balls)(4x4), 81-2. Daniel Unsworth was the new batsman but was soon out caught by Sam Woodburn off James Parkinson for 2 (9 balls), 86-3.

Lee Berrie joined Hassan and they kept the scoreboard ticking over and had reached 150 when tragedy for the hosts Aneeq Hassan was run out by Stan Rich for 39 (64 balls)(4x4), 153-4. Lewis McKinnon replaced Hassan but lost Lee Berrie in the last over bowled by James Park Johnson for 42 (74 balls)(5x4), 181-5.

Joshua Unsworth came out for the last ball, there was no addition to the score so Mawdesley closed on 181-5 in their 50 overs with Lewis McKinnon 11no (17 ball) and Joshua Unsworth 0no (1 ball)

The Carnforth bowing figures were Freddie Whatmuff 2-43 from 15 overs, James Parkinson 1-35 off 15, James Park Johnson 1-64 from 12 and Dylan Conroy 0-38 off 8.

Carnforth got off to a poor start losing two early wickets, Lewis Spurr was out first ball bowled by Neil O'Malley for 0, 0-1, number three Ryan Nelson soon fallowed caught by Lee Berrie off Neil O'Malley for 5 (17 balls), 13-2.

James Park Johnson joined Freddie Whatmuff but became Neil O'Malley's third victim lbw for 17 (26 balls)(3x4), 39-3. Bradley Hoyle was next in and with Whatmuff were going well until Oliver Ellicott bowled Bradley Hoyle for 51 (62 balls)(9x4), 138-4.

Shane Dixon replaced Hoyle and with Whatmuff saw the visitors home on 184-4 in 40.3 overs with Freddie Whatmuff 81no (113 ball)(11x4) and Shane Dixon 6no (26 balls).

Neil O'Malley took 3-45 from 14 overs, Oliver Ellicott 1-59 off 10.3, Joshua Adamson 0-15 from6, Aneeq Hassan 0-17 off 3, Lee Berrie 0-21 from 4 and Daniel Unsworth 0-25 off 3.

Penwortham v Thornton Cleveleys

Thornton Cleveleys won the toss at Middleforth Green and put the hosts into bat, Robbie Sumner and Ryan Dimasi were the opening pair, Robbie Sumner was the first man out caught by Jake Apperley off Joshua Rolinson for 10 (22 balls)(2x4), 37-1.

The hosts number three was Jonathon Hothersall and with Dimasi leading the way were approaching the hundred when Jonathon Hothersll was out caught behind by Sam Curwen off Joshua Sackfield for 13 (39 balls)(3x4), 96-2. Ryan Maddock was the new batsman but lost Ryan Dimasi stumped by Sam Curwen off Joshua Sackfiled for 68 (82 balls)(8x4, 3x6), 125-3.

The incoming batsman was Joseph Bradshaw but with only eight runs addded Joshua Sackfield claimed his third wicket Ryan Maddock caught behind by Sam Curwen for 13 (35 balls), 133-4. Martyn Brierley joined Bradshaw but saw Joshua Sackfield's claim his next wicket Joseph Bradshaw bowled for 19 (17 balls), 157-5.

Harish Humsa was next in and was scoring freely until he was caught by Joshua Rolinson off Daniel Howard for 21 (15 balls)(2x4, 2x6), 178-6. Ian Walmsley Jnr came to the wicket but with the score on two hundred was out lbw to Joshua Sackfield for 3 (13 balls), 200-7.

The man in at nine was Ryan Roberts but with only one run added Joshua Sackfield claimed his fifth wicket bowling Martyn Brierley for 29 (41 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 201-8. Nathan Walmsley came to the crease and went on the attack but lost his partner Ryan Roberts bowled by Joshua Rolinson for 0 (7 balls), 212-9.

Number eleven was Matthew Finnerty and he supported the attacking Walmsley, Natham Walmsley was out in the last over caught behind by Sam Curwen off Joshua Rolinson for 35 (21 balls)(1x4, 4x6) as Penwortham closed on 243 all out in 49.4 overs with Matthew Finnerty 5no (10 balls).

Joshua Sackfield took 5-58 from 15 overs, Joshau Rolinson 3-41 off 11.4, Jake Apperley 1-51 from 15, Daniel Howard 1-52 off 5 and Cameron Chisholm 0-32 from 3.

The visitors reply got off to a steady start but then lost six wickets for 26 runs, Josh Borrell and Joshua Sackfield had an opening partnership of 34 when Joshua Sackfield was caught by Jonathon Hothersall off Ryan Roberts for 12 (20 balls)(2x4), 34-1

Number three Joshua Rolinson lost Josh Borrell caught by Jonathon Hothersall off Ryan Roberts three runs later for 17 (31 balls)(4x4), 37-2, Will Weber was in at four, seven runs had been added when Joshua Rolinson was caught by Ian Walmsley Jnr off Ryan Roberts for 1 (16 balls), 44-3.

Cameron Chisholm replaced Sackfield, Ryan Maddock then took two wickets in three balls, Will Weber bowled for 5 (7 balls), 48-4, two balls later he had new batsman Jacob Sackfield lbw for 0 (2 balls), 48-5.

Richard Jenkinson joined Cameron Chisholm who became Richard Maddock's third wicket caught behind by Robbie Sumner for 9 (16 balls)(2x4), 60-6. Richard Jenkinson had a new partner in Daniel Howard, their task to score 184 runs in 33 overs with four wickets in hand. they set about their task but with the score on 163 Nathan Walmsley made the breakthrough having Richard Jenkinson caught behind by Robbie Sumner for 40 (73 balls)(6x4), 163-7.

Jake Apperley walked the the wicket and supported Daniel Howard, they were scoring well, Matthew Finnerty took the vital wicket of Daniel Howard caught by Harish Humsa for 76 (3 balls)(64, 6x6), 220-8.

The visitors required 24 runs from 5.3 overs with two wickets in hand, Sam Curwen was Jake Apperley's new partner but with only six runs added Jake Apperley was caught by Joseph Bradshaw off Ryan Roberts for 21 (19 balls)(4x4), 226-9. Evan Martin was number eleven with eighteen runs required, Ryan Maddock broke the visitors hearts trapping Sam Curwen lbw for 3 (8 balls)as Thornton Cleveleys were all out for 242 in 47.2 overs on two runs short of victory with Evan Martin 13no (12 balls)(3x4).

All the Penwortham bowlers took a wicket, Ryan Roberts took 4-61 from 14 overs, Ryan Maddock 4-71 off 13.2, Matthew Finnerty 1-44 from 9 and Nathan Walmsley 1-57 off 11

St Annes v Carlisle

St Annes won the toss at Vernon Road and chose to bat first, Lukman Vahaluwala and Nathan Armstrong gave them a brilliant start, the introduction of Ben Davidson and Johnny Westgarth into the attack saw the run rate slow down, Lukman Vahaluwala was the first man out stumped by Tom Benn off Johnny Westgarth for 74 (96 balls)(12x4), 183-1.

Promod Maduwantha was in at three, Nathan Armstrong reached his century but shortly afterwards with the score on two hundred he fell lbw to Johnny Westgarth for 104 (111 balls)(17x4, 1x6), 200-2. Jevan Isidore came to the wicket but was soon out caught behind by Tom Benn off Ben Davidson for 1 (6 balls), 201-3.

Luke Jardine was the new batsman but on reaching 8 (14 balls) he was bowled by Ben Davidson, 225-4, Thomas Bradley came in next but with only seven runs added was bowled by Johnny Westgarth for 0 (4 balls), 232-5, Ashton Charles replaced Bradley but did not last long caught and bowled by Ben Davidson for 2 (5 balls), 237-6.

James Bradley came to the wicket but quickly became wicket number four for Johnny Westgarth bowled for 0 (4 balls), 242-7. Nathan Bolus was the new batsman but he too went early caught and bowled by Ben Davidson for 6 (6 balls), 249-8.

Alex Urquhart joined Maduwantha but with only eight runs added Alex Urquhart became Ben Davidson's fifth wicket caught by Zephania Arinaitwe for 2 (4 balls).

Mitch Bolus was in at eleven, the St Annes closed on 261 all out in 49.4 overs when Johnny Westgarth claimed his fifth wicket Promod Maduwantha caught by Nico Watt for 40 (46 balls)(4x4) leaving Mitch Bolus 2no (3 balls).

Ben Davidson took 5-55 from 13 overs, Johnny Westgarth 5-70 off 12.4, Brodie Glendinning 0-18 from 3, Ben Purdham 0-31 off 6, Chris Blythe 0-34 from 6 and Nico Watt 0-47 off 9.

The Carlisle reply got off to a bad start losing Marc Brown out first ball caught behind by James Bradley off Mitch Bolus for 0, 10-1The Carlisle number three was Tom Benn and with Zephania Arinaitwe leading the way were going well, Promod Maduwantha was brought into the attack and in his first over had Zephania Arinaitwe lbw for 69 (52 balls)(10x4, 2x6), 91-2.

Mohammed Jamal joined Tom Benn and they continued to make progress until Tom Benn fell caught by Thomas Bradley off Alex Urquhart for 25 (51 balls)(3x4), 135-3. Ben Davidson was the new batsman and supported Mohammed Jamil, they had a partnership of 49 broken by Alex Urquhart bowling Ben Davidson for 13 (29 balls), 184-4.

The next man in was Alex Raybould who was quickly out caught by Jevan Isidore off Thomas Bradley for 0 (5 balls), 185-5. Brodie Glendinning was the new batsman but two wickets fell for two runs, Brodie Glendinning was run out by Alex Urquhart for 3 (6 balls), 198-6. two runs later new man Nico Watt was caught and bowled by Promod Maduwantha for 0 (5 balls), 200-7.

Chris Blythe replaced Watt with 10.2 overs to go and 62 runs required, he held his end up but disaster struck for the visitors Chris Blythe was run out by Mitch Bolus for 15 (33 balls)(2x4), 242-8. Mohammed Jamal reached his century.

Ben Purdham came to the wicket with eight balls remaining and twenty runs required, Mohammed Jamal was facing and took 6 off the last to balls , 14 needed, Into the last over Ben Purdham took a run 13 needed. The prize wicket of Mohammed Jamal fell caught by Mitch Bolus off Promod Maduwantha for 106 (115 balls)(11x4, 2x6), 249-9

Johnny Westgarth was the last man in, with 13 required, ball three Westgarth takes two runs and there is a leg bye next ball, ten needed Ben Purdham hits ball number five for 6, four required off the last ball but only a leg bye scored as Carlisle close on 259-9 in their 50 overs losing by two runs, Ben Purdham was 7no (3 balls)(1x6) and Johnny Westgarth 2no (2 balls).
