The Northern Cricket League Review

The Northern Premier League 2025 season Round 13 in Division 1 saw the top two win, Kendal at home to Chorley and Netherfield away at Garstang, Blackpool won at Settle and move into third

Fulwood & Broughton won at Leyland and Longridge won the battle berween the bottom two at Fleetwood.

In Division 2 St Annes get back to winning ways at Great Eccleston, Second place Euxton lost to Barrow who move up to fourth, Carlisle won at Penwortham and remain third but close the gap to Euxton.

In the other matches Thornton Cleveleys defeated Carnforth and Vernon Carus beat bottom side Mawdesley.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 13

Fleetwood v Longridge

Longridge won the toss at Broadwater and chose to bat first, they made 130 in 43.4 overs with number seven Rob Hollinghurst top scoring with 52 supported by Luke Platt 33.

The Fleetwood bowling was Matthew Siddall 5-24 from 15 overs, Declan Clerkin 3-42 off 13, Jeremy Davies 1-7 from 2.4, Hassan Mughal 1-43 off 7 and Michael Rippon 0-13 from 6.

In reply Fleetwood were bowled out for 121 in 32.5 overs just nine runs short, the Fleetwood tail gave them a chance with number eight Nathan Bend 30 and number nine Matthew Siddall 27no. Declan Clerkin made 18.

Jake Durnell was the Longridge match winner with 5-46 from 13.5 overs supported by Jonathan Millward 3-20 off 10, Ollie Mullin 1-17 from 4, Kieran McClintock 0-4 off 2 and Tom Howarth 0-23 from 3.

This win moves Longridge closer to the other teams in the fight against relegation.

Garstang v Netherfield

Garstang won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and invited the visitors to bat first, Corey Cater made the early breakthrough having Reece Irving caught behind by Dan Curwen for 4 (19 balls), 9-1.

Coming in at number three was Cole Mcconchie, he lost Ben Barrow bowled by Joe Barlow for 9 (16 balls), 18-2, John Huck was next in but quickly became Joe Barlow's second wicket lbw for 1 (9 balls), 29-3.

Richard Everett joined Mcconchie and they moved the score along until Cole Mcconchie fell lbw to Ian Walling for 28 (24 balls)(5x4), 60-4. Josh Dixon was the new batsman and with Everett took the score to the hundred when Josh Dixon was bowled by Sumit Ruikar for 12 (30 balls)(2x4),101-5.

Will Beeden replaced Dixon and with Everett kept the scoreboard ticking over, Sumit Ruikar struck having Richard Everett lbw for 48 (81 balls)(7x4), 129-6, Oli Wileman came to the wicket and with Beeden were making progress when they both were out, Will Beeden was the first to go caught by Tom Higson off Sumit Ruikar for 31 (58 balls)(2x4), 168-7. two runs later Corey Cater bowled Oli Wileman for 24 (41 balls)(1x6), 170-8.

The two new batsmen were Isaac Medhurst and Samuel Medhurst, Cory Cater took his third wicket bowling Isaac Medhurst for 1 (7 balls), 182-9. Matt Jackson was in at eleven and with Medhurst saw Netherfield close on 187-9 in their 50 overs with Samuel Medhurst 12no (9 balls) and Matt Jackson 1no (1 ball).

For Garstang Sumit Ruikar took 3-28 from 15 overs, Corey Cater 3-41 off 12, Joe Barlow 2-37 from 7, Ian Walling 1-43 off 9, Tom Higson 0-12 from 2 and Ernie Collinson 0-21 from 5

In reply the hosts lost an early wicket Tom Higson caught behind by Will Beeden off Isaac Medhurst for 11 (10 balls)(2x4), 11-1. number three was Joseph Pearson and with Michael Walling were making good progress until they lost three wickets for two runs. Isaac Medhurst had Joseph Pearson caught by John Huck for 18 (28 balls)(4x4), 47-4. Ernie Collinson was next in but one run later was caught behind by Will Beeden off Samuel Medhurst for 0 (2 balls), 46-3. Mark Walling replaced Collinson but again one run later was bowled by Isaac Medhurst for 0 (6 balls), 47-4.

Sumit Ruikar joined Michael Walling and they began to rebuild the innings, Cole Mcconchie was brought into the attack and in his first over had Michael Walling caught by Oli Wileman for 27 (49 balls)(5x4), 68-5. Dan Curwen was the new batsman but soon became Cole Mcconchie's second victim lbw for 7 (16 balls), 82-6.

Ian Walling came to the wicket and was scoring at a run a ball until he was out lbw to Cole Mcconchie for 15 (16 balls), 104-7, next in was Michael Wellings who went on the attack and they were making good progress when Samuel Medhurst was brought back into the attack and immediately had Sumit Ruikar caught by Ben Barrow for 27 (65 balls), 139-8.

Cory Cater was Michel Wellings's new partner and they set about chasing down the score, they were going very well and took the score to within eleven runs of victory when disaster fell, Michael Wellings was caught by Josh Dixon off Cole Mcconchie for 39 (24 balls)(5x4. 2x6), 177-9, two runs later Corey Cater was caught by Cole Mcconchie off Isaac Medhurst for 27 (36 balls)(3x4) as Garstang were bowled out for 179 in 43.3 overs just nine runs short, Joe Barlow was 0no (11 balls).

The Netherfield bowling figures were Isaac Medhurst 4-42 from 10.3 overs, Cole Mcconchie 4-50 off 14, Samuel Medhurst 2-50 from 11, Oli Wileman 0-17 off 2 and Matt Jackson 0-18 from 6.

Kendal v Chorley

Chorley won the toss at Shap Road and decided to bat first, Maxwell Seedall and Miller Childs were the opening pair, Maxwell Seedall was the first out bowled by Sam Sharp for 5 (17 balls), 14-1.

The Chorley number three was Edwin Moulton but he was soon out lbw to Louis Backhouse for 2 (8 balls), 28-2. Keegan Petersen was the new batsman but eight runs later lost Miller Childs bowled by Sam Sharp for 19 (38 balls), 36-3.

Alfie Dobson replaced Childs and with Petersen were going well and approaching the hundred when Alfie Dobson was caught by Maximus Winskill for 24 (52 balls)(3x4), 99-4, Kieran Yould joined Petersen and carried on supporting him, Sam Sharp broke the partnership having Kieran Yould caught behind by Finlay Richardson for 27 (40 balls)(2x4), 158-5.

Stuart Naden came to the wicket but disaster for the visitors he was run out by Sam Sharp for 10 (16 balls), 180-6. James Dunn was the new batsman and with the score on two hundred was caught by Bradley Earl off Sam Sharp for 8 (12 balls), 200-7.

Ben Simpkins came in at nine, Keegan Petersen hit two runs off the last ball of the innings to reach his century and see Chorley close on 217-7 in their 50 overs with Keegan Petersen 100no (116 balls)(9x4, 3x6)and Ben Simpkins 1no (4 balls).

Sam Sharp took 4-60 from 15 overs, Christopher Miller 1-43 off 10, Louis Backhouse 1-46 from 12, Joe Davies 0-15 off 3 and Freddie Fallows 0-51 from 10.

The hosts like the visitors lost an early wicket, Darren Nightingale caught by Edwin Moulton off Miller Childs for 12 (9 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 19-1. Finlay Richardson was number three and with Maximus Winskill were going very well and their partnership was 96 when Joseph Tiffin had Maximus Winskill lbw for 38 (60 balls)(7x4), 115-2.

Henry Copper joined Richardson and shortly afterwards Joseph Tiffin bowled Finlay Richardson for 70 (74 balls)(10x4), 137-3. Freddie Fallows was in next, Joseph Tiffin claimed his third wicket Henry Cooper caught by Stuart Naden for 17 (24 balls)(3x4), 157-4.

Bradley Earl came to the wicket and with Fallows had put on 40 runs when he fell lbw to Edwin Moulton for 20 (22 balls)(3x4), 197-5. James Bowman was Fallows's new partner and they saw the hosts to victory closing on 219-5 in 39.4 overs, Freddie Fallows was 39no (46 balls)(1x4, 3x6) and James Bowman 2no (10 balls).

The Chorley bowling figures were Joseph Tiffin 3-67 from 12.4 overs, Miller Childs 1-21 off 4, Edwin Moulton 1-29 from 8, James Lee 0-13 off 3, James Dunn 0-39 from 6 and Stuart Naden 0-44 off 6.

Leyland v Fulwood & Broughton

Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and elected to bat first, They got off to a very good start with Ewen Mansford and Matt Smith, they were looking good until Ned Patterson was introduced into the attack, in his first over he had Ewen Mansford caught by Lloyd Tennant for 26 (48 balls)(6x4), 54-1.

Ben Parkinson was three and with Smith kept the scoreboard ticking over until Ned Patterson struck again having Matt Smith caught by Sam Oldham for 44 (61 balls)(5x4, 2x6), 80-2. Parshwar Sandeep Panchwatkar was in next but on nelson he was caught by Ned Patterson off Andrew Jacques for 17 (33 balls)(2x4), 111-3.

James McWilliam joined Ben Parkinson and they were approaching the 150 when Will Smith bowled Ben Parkinson for 36 (72 balls)(4x4), 145-4. Usama Abrar replaced Parkinson and pushed on with McWilliam, In the last over Usama Abrar was run out by Adam Sexton for 37 (30 balls)(1x4, 2x6), 221-5.

Lewis Wellings came to the wicket and saw Fulwood & Broughton close on 226-5 in their 50 overs with James McWilliam 51no (55 balls)(2x4, 2x6) and Lewis Wellings 4no (1 ball).

The Leyland bowling was Ned Patterson 2-68 from 13 overs, Will Smith 1-37 off 7, Andrew Jacques 1-43 from 13, Karl Cross 0-19 off 5, Ross Bretherton 0-27 from 6 and Sam Oldham 0-30 off 6.

The hosts did not get off to the best of starts, Karl Cross was caught by Ewen Mansford off Khalil Patel for 8 (4 balls)(2x4), 8-1, coming in at three was Sam Oldham but soon lost his partner Alexander Eyre bowled by Lewis Wellings for 9 (8 balls), 23-2.

The new batsman was Jacob Wright but three runs had been added when Sam Oldham was caught behind by James McWilliam off Lewis Wellings for 5 (11 balls), 26-3. Lloyd Tennant came to the wicket but fell caught by Ewen Mansford off Khalil Patel for 5 (13 balls), 35-4.

Ned Patterson joined Jacob Wright and they began make good progress, Cameron Port broke the partnership having Ned Patterson caught by Khalil Patel for 34 (35 balls)(6x4), 90-5.

Ross Bretherton replaced Patterson but he was out bowled by Ewen Mansford for 12 (25 balls), 118-6. Andrew Makinson came to the wicket and with Wright kept the score moving along, Cameron Port made the vital breakthrough having Jacob Wright caught by Usama Abrar for 54 (106 balls)(5x4), 148-7.

Will Smith was next in and was scoring at a run a ball until disaster struck he was run out by Lewis Wellings for 17 (15 balls)(3x4), 193-8, Andrew Jacques walked to the wicket with 34 runs required from 26 balls, he lost Andrew Makinson caught behind by James McWilliam off Khalil Patel for 45 (72 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 207-9.

Number eleven was Adam Sexton with 19 required but only ten were scored so Leyland were 8 runs short and finished on 218-9 in their 50 overs with Andrew Jacques 14no (11 balls)(1x6) and Adam Sexton 1no (3 balls).

Khlail Patel took 3-67 from 14 overs, Cameron Port 2-50 off 15, lewis Wellings 2-52 from 10 and Ewen Mansford 1-49 off 11.

Settle v Blackpool

Settle won the toss at Marshfield and chose to bat first, they got of to a bad start losing William Davidson off the first ball of the second over of the innings caught by Kasim Munir off Jamie Thomson for 0 (2 balls), 1-1. Amar Ullah was the Settle number three, he fell in the next over bowled by Matthew Grindley for 0 (7 balls), 4-2.

Gautam Waghela joined Zane Nirodi, Matthew Grindley struck again having Gautam Waghela caught by Jake Muncaster for 3 (4 balls), 16-3. Benjamin Hulse came to the wicket but disaster struck the hosts with Zane Nirodi run out by Matthew Taaffe for 16 (43 balls)(3x4), 28-4.

John Davidson replaced Nirodi but before he could settle in both he and Benjamin Hulse were out, John Davidson was bowled by Ali Usman for 10 (13 balls)(2x4), 43-5, four runs later Benjamin Hulse was bowled by Matthew Grindley for 9 (51 balls), 47-6.

Tom Davidson and James Snowden had the task of rebuilding the innings, Tom Davidson took charge and they began to keep the scoreboard ticking over, Ali Usman broke the partnership, James Snowden was caught by Matthew Taaffe for 8 (19 balls), 76-7. Will Vause was next in and held his end up, Ali Usman once again made the breakthrough having Will Vause caught and bowled for 8 (12 balls)(1x6), 90-8.

Eddy Read was in at ten but Tom Davidson's fighting innings came to an end lbw to Josh Boyne for 48 (52 balls)(7x4, 2x6), 112-9. Noah Smith was number eleven and with Eddy Read added eight runs before the Settle innings came to a close on 120 all out in 38 overs when Eddy Read was caught by Andrew Needham off Ali Usman for 8 (20 balls)(1x6) with Noah Smith 0no (6 balls).

The Blackpool bowling was Ali Usman 4-20 form 10 overs, Matthew Grindley 3-47 off 15, Josh Boyne 1-21 from 4 and Jamie Thomson 1-28 off 9.

Ben Howarth and Dylan Henshall opened for the visitors and got to 36 when Dylan Henshall was caught by William Davidson off Amar Ullah for 25 (17 balls)(5x4), 36-1, The Blackpool number three was Andrew Needham but he was soon out caught and bowled by Amar Ullah for 5 (12 balls), 58-2.

Ben Howarth was joined by Josh Boyne and they took the score in sight of victory when Ben Howarth was caught behind by Noah Smith off Will Vause for 37 (47 balls)(8x4), 111-3. Ali Usman replaced Howarth and with Josh Boyne saw Blackpool home on 121-3 in 17 overs, Josh Boyne was 26no (21 balls)(5x4) and Ali Usman 8no (6 balls)(2x4).

For Settle Amar Ullah took 2-23 from 5 overs, Will Vause 1-20 off 2, Gautam Waghela 0-13 from 2, William Davidson 0-14 off 3, Eddy Read 0-17 from 3 and Tom Davidson 0-29 off 2.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 13

Barrow v Euxton

Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and elected to bat first, openers Drew Postlethwaite and Simon Chadd got off to a good start until Drew Postlethwaite was caught by Ben Houghton off Joseph Bowden for 34 (34 balls)(7x4), 37-1.

Number three was Toby Mowat and with Chadd were moving the score along, James Bone broke the partnership bowling Simon Chadd for 19 (49 balls)(3x4), 88-2. Dikshant Vairagi joined Mowat and they were going well with Mowat leading the way, Jack Shovelton made the breakthrough bowling Dikshant Vairagi for 25 (50 balls)(3x4), 163-3.

Sam Dutton replaced Vairagi but he soon lost Toby Mowat caught by Max Harper off Elliot Mackrael for 77 (92 balls)(9x4, 2x6), 175-4, Jack Singleton was next in but with only ten runs added lost Sam Dutton bowled by Jack Shovelton for 10 (12 balls) 185-5.

Nishanth Arun was the new batsman, Jack Singleton was the next man out caught and bowled by James Bone for 6 (15 balls), 185-6, Cameron Dougall came to the wicket but became Jack Shovelton's third wicket bowled for 15 (23 balls)(2x4), 209-7.

Daryl Wearing was in next, Nishanth Arun was next out bowled by James Bone for 12 (10 balls), Sam Henderson came in at ten but lost his partner Daryl Wearing lbw to Jack Shovelton for 0 (4 balls), 213-8.

Ben Carr was number eleven and with Henderson saw Barrow close on 218-9 in their 50 overs, Sam Henderson was 4no (2 balls) and Ben Carr 1no (1 ball).

The Euxton bowling figures were Jack Shovelton 4-62 from 15 overs, James Bone 3-50 off 15, Elliot Mackrael 1-14 from 4, Joseph Bowden 1-41 off 8, Josh Tolley 0-25 from 5 and Joseph Barker 0-25 off 3.

Josh Tolley and Ben Houghton gave the visitors a good foundation to push on, Ben Hougthon was the first man out caught by Ben Carr off Sam Henderson for 15 (16 balls), 45-1. James Bone came in at three and with Tolley continued to make progress, Dikshant Vairagi made the breakthrough having Josh Tolley caught by Daryl Wearing for 48 (56 balls)(8x4), 86-2.

Max Harper was the new batsman but with only four runs added lost James Bone stumped by Drew Postlethwaite for 14 (35 balls)(2x4), 94-3. Hakeem Perryman came to the wicket, Dikshant Vairagi claimed his second wicket Max Harper caught and bowled for 8 (8 balls), 94-4.

Jack Morgan replaced Harper but was quickly out caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite off Sam Dutton for 0 (3 balls), 95-5. Jack Shovelton joined Perryman but he became victim number two for Sam Dutton caught by Toby Mowat for 6 (9 balls), 101-6.

Joseph Barker came to the wicket but with only six runs added Hakeem Perryman was bowled by Dikshant Vairagi for 4 (11 balls), 107-7. Danny Curtis was the new batsman, disaster struck for the visitors as Danny Curtis was run out by Dikshant Vairagi for 15 (10 balls)(3x4), 128-8.

Joseph Bowden came in at ten, Joseph Barker was next out lbw to Diksahnt Vairagi for 10 (30 balls), 131-9. In at eleven was Elliot Mackrael and with Bowden set about getting as close as possible to the hosts score, their partnership was 41 when Sam Dutton had Elliot Mackrael caught by Daryl Wearing for 15 (39 balls) as Euxton were bowled out for 172 in 41.1 overs with Joseph Bowden 24no (31 balls)(3x4).

Dikshant Vairagi and Sam Dutton did the damage for Barrow, Sam Dutton 4-38 from 10.1 overs, Dikshant Vairagi 4-52 off 15 supported by Sam Henderson 1-31 from 7, Simon Chadd 0-6 off 1, Ben Carr 0-20 from 5, and Dary Wearing 0-25 off 3.

Great Eccleston v St Annes

Great Eccleston won the toss at Hall Lane and decided to bat first, the hosts opening pair Nisanth Nithian and Matthew Lawrenson were going very well until the introduction of Promod Maduwantha into the attack, in his second over he had Nisanth Nithian caught by Alex Urquhart for 30 (40 balls)(5x4), 60-1. number three Matt Moat soon fell to Promod Maduwantha lbw for 0 (7 balls), 65-2.

Mohamed Nadeem joined Lawrenson and they took the score past the hundred when Matthew Lawrenson was caught by Nathan Bolus off Alex Urquhart for 47 (84 balls)(7x4), 104-3. new man Chris Saunders was quickly out caught by Lukman Vahaluwala off Promod Maduwantha for 0 (6 balls), 108-4.

Joe McMillan replaced Saunders and with Nadeem moved the score along, their partnership was 72 when Joe McMillan was caught behind by James Bradley off Mitch Bolus for 40 (42 balls), 180-5, next in was Will Turnbull, Mitch Bolus claimed his second wicket Mohamed Nadeem caught behind by James Bradley for 50 (85 balls)(4x4), 191-6.

Isaac Crosbie was next in and with Turnbull saw Great Eccleston close on 229-6 in their 50 overs with Will Turnbull 19no (21 balls)(2x4) and Isaac Crosbie 18no (17 balls).

The St Annes bowling figures were Promod Maduwantha 3-53 from 15 overs, Mitch Bolus 2-77 off 12, Alex Urquhart 1-30 from 7, Ryan Birkman 0-22 off 5 and Lukman Vahaluwala 0-40 from 11.

Lukman Vahaluwala and Nathan Armstrong got them off to a quick start, Nathan Armstrong fell caught by Will Turnbull for 11 (17 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 32-1. Luke Jardine was the St Annes number three and with Vahaluwala were going well until he fell lbw to Will Turnbull for 20 (3x4), 88-2.

Promod Maduwantha joined Vahaluwala but when Lukman Vahaluwala reached 61 (50 balls)(7x4, 1x6), he retired hurt, Thomas Bradley replaced him and with Maduwantha saw the visitors to victory on 234-2 in 43.2 overs. Thomas Bradley was 75no and Promod Maduwantha 43no

For Great Eccleston Will Turnbull took 1-28 from 6 overs, Mohamed Nadeem 1-77 off 15, Matt Moat 0-10 from 0.2, Luca Swarbrick 0-21 off 2 and Phil Booth 0-42 from 9.

Penworthan v Carlisle

Carlisle won the toss at Middleforth Green and took first knock, they got off to a good start reaching 47 before a wicket fell, Marc Brown was the man out caught by Martyn James Brierley off Ryan Maddock for 13 (21 balls)(2x4), 47-1. The man in at three was Tom Benn but he was soon out lbw to Nathan Walmsley for 5 (11 balls), 60-2.

Michael Slack was next in but with only four runs added Ryan Maddock took two wickets in three balls, his first was Zephanai Arinaitwe bowled for 35 (36 balls)(7x4), 64-3. two balls later he bowled new man Ben Davidson for 0 (2 balls), 64-4.

Alex Raybould joined Slack but was quickly out caught by Ryan Maddock off Nathan Walmsley for 1 (7 balls), 71-5. the new batsman was Brodie Glendinning and he became wicket number three caught by Ryan Dimasi for 2 (14 balls), 85-6, next in Nico Watt did not fare any better lbw to Ed Cox for 6 (17 balls), 103-7.

Chris Blythe replaced Watt and with Michael Slack began to score more quickly, their partnership was 115 when both were out, Chris Blythe was first out caught by Charlie Parker off Nathan Walmsley for 58 (65 balls)(5x4, 3x6), 218-8.Michael Slack followed caught by Charlie Parker off Ryan Maddock for 64 (100 balls)(5x4, 2x6), 218-9.

Ben Purdham and Johnny Westgarth were the last two, Ryan Roberts had Johnny Westgarth caught behind by Robbie Sumner for 1 (5 balls) as Carlisle were bowled out for 225 in 47.3 overs with Ben Purdham 4no (8 balls).

The Penwortham reply got off to a poor start losing two early wickets, Robbie Sumner was caught behind by Tom Benn off Chris Blythe for 5 (29 balls), 15-1, Number three Martyn James Brierley fell one later lbw to Nico Watt for 0 (1 ball), 16-2.

Joseph Bradshaw joined Jonathon Hothersall, Nico Watt struck taking two wickets in the same over, his first Jonathon Hothersall stumped by Tom Benn for 14 (34 balls)(3x4), 35-3. new batsman Ryan Maddock was bowled four balls later for 0 (4 balls), 35-4.

Charlie Parker replaced Maddock and with Bradshaw were making good progress until Michael Slack had Joseph Bradshaw caught by Ben Davidson for 50 (41 balls)(5x4, 4x6), 79-5. Harish Hamsa was next in and was scoring at a run a ball when he fell lbw to Brodie Glendinning for 16 (17 balls), 107-6.

Ryan Dimasi came to the wicket but lost his partner Charlie Parker caught behind by Tom Benn off Ben Purdham for 23 (42 balls)(3x4), 128-7. Ryan Roberts was the new batsman and became Nico Watt's fourth wicket caught and bowled for 16 (36 balls)(2x4), 164-9.

Nathan Walsmley came to the wicket with 61 runs required form 9 overs, he and Ryan Dimasi set about scoring the runs, they reached the 47th over requiring 13 runs, Michael Slack was the bowler, his first ball was hit for six by Ryan Dimasi, 7 required, second ball he bowled Ryan Dimasi for 49 (53 balls)(6x4, 1x6), number eleven Ed Cox came to the wicket and played two dot balls, the fifth ball saw Ed Cox out lbw for 0 (3 balls) as Penwirtham was bowled out for 219 in 47.5 overs 7 runs short, Nathan Walmsley was 29no (27 balls)(2x4,2x6).

The Carlisle bowling was Nico Watt 4-58 from 15 overs, Michael Slack 3-46 off 8.5, Brodie Glendinning 1-30 from 5, Ben Purdhan 1-36 off 7, Chris Blythe 1-43 from 11 and Johnny Westgarth 0-4 off 1.

Thornton Cleveleys v Carnforth

Carnforth won the toss at Illawalla and chose to bat first, They did not get off to a good start losing both openers early; Tom Parkinson was the first to go bowled by Joshua Rolinson for 0 (9 balls), 4-1, Ryan Nelson was in at three but lost Freddie Whatmuff bowled by Cameron Chisholm for 4 (16 balls), 12-2.

James Park Johnson was in next but he was soon out caught by J Sackfield off Joshua Rolinson for 9 (15 balls)(2x4), 26-3. Shane Dixon was the new batsman but with only eight runs added fell lbw to Jake Apperley for 5 (8 bslls), 34-4.

Dylan Conroy came to the wicket but two runs later he was bowled by Joshua Rolinson for 1 (9 balls), 36-5. Chris Park Johnson joined Ryan Nelson and they looked to be turning the game around when Ryan Nelson fell lbw to Joshua Sackfield for 27 (49 balls)(5 x4), 72-6.

Zack Dodds replaced Nelson but soon be came Joshua Sackfield's second wicket caught by Christopher Hedges for 6 (7 balls), 77-7. new man Lee Potter did not fare any better out first ball caught by Josh Borrell off Cameron Chisholm for 0, 77-8.

Lee Hodkinson was in at ten but six runs later lost Zack Dodds caught by Christopher Hedges off Joshua Sackfied for 6 (7 balls), 83-9, Alfie Hill came in at eleven, Carnforth were bowled out for 85 in 26.5 overs when Alfie Hill was bowled by Cameron Chisholm for 1 (9balls) with Lee Hodkinson 0no (2 balls).

All the Thornton Cleveleys bowlers took a wicket, Cameron Chisholm took 3-17 from 6.5 overs, Joshua Rolinson 3-26 off 8, Joshau Sackfield 2-10 from 5 and Jake Apperley 1-30 off 7.

The Thornton Cleveleys reply got off to a good start with Josh Borrell and Joshua Sackfield opening stand of 35, Joshua Sackfield was the man out caught by James Park Johnson off Dylan Conroy for 15 (16 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 35-1.

Sam Curwen joined Borrell and they took the score past the fifty when Dylan Conroy claimed his second wicket Josh Borrell caught by Ryan Nelson for 31 (27 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 53-2. Jacob Sackfield replaced Borrell and with victory in sight lost Sam Curwen caught by James Parkinson off Alfie Hill for 19 (36 balls)(4x4), 73-3.

Joshua Rolinson came to the wicket and with Jacob Sackfield saw the hosts home on 86-3 in 19.4 overs, Jacob Sackfield was 9no (28 balls)(2x4) and Joshua Rolinson 3no (11 balls).

The Carnforth bowling figures were Dylan Conroy 2-35 from 10 overs, Alfie Hill 1-23 off 7, Freddie Whatmuff 0-9 from 0.4 and Tom Parkinson 0-17 off 2.

Vernon Carus v Mawdesley

Vernon Carus won the toss at Factory Lane and elected to bat first, Ian Dunn and Hasan Zaman gave them a great start, they had 114 on the scoreboard Hasan Zaman was caught behind by Fyffe Dennis off Neil O'Malley for 39 (71 balls)(7x4), 114-1, Wes Royle came in at three but shortly afterwards lost Ian Dunn caught behind by Fyffe Dennis off Neil O'Malley for 39 (87 balls)(6x4), 123-2.

Jaxon Cornford was in next and with Royle were going very well, their partnership was approaching the hundred when disaster struck with Jaxon Cornford run out by Edward Hurst for 55 (55 balls)(7x4, 3x6), 217-3, Robert Bridges was the new batsman and continued the momentum, he was out caught by Daniel Unsworth off Joshua Adamson for 18 (14 balls)(3x4), 257-4.

Jamie Rigby replaced Bridges and with Wes Royle saw Vernon Carus close on 289-4 in their 50 overs with Wes Royle 61no (69 balls)(9x4) and Jamie Rigby 23no (7 balls)(3x6).

The Mawdesley bowling was Neil O'Malley 2-34 from 15 overs, Joshua Adamson 1-78 off 13, Daniel Unsworth 0-22 from 2, Oliver Ellicott 0-26 off 1, Lewis MCKinnon 0-61 from 9 and Lee Berrie 0-62 off 10.

The Mawdeley reply got off to a bad start losing two early wickets, Fyffe Dennis was caught behind by Robert Bridges off Jacob Holland for 1 (5 balls), 2-1, number three was Aneeq Hassan who quickly became Jacob Holland's second victim caught by Hasam Zaman for 4 (8 balls), 16-2.

Lee Berrie had a new partner in Daniel Unsworth and they began scoring freely, they were approaching the hundred when tragedy for the visitors Lee Berrie was run out by Ian Dunn for 50 (52 balls)D(9x4a, 93-3, Edward Hurst came to the wicket but disaster struck with Daniel Unsworth run out by Jamie Rigby for 39 (47 balls)(7x4), 109-4.

Lewis McKinnon joined Hurst but with only four runs added Lewis McKinnon was run out by Robert Bridges for 2 (6 balls), 113-5. Oliver Ellicott was the new batsman but he became the fourth player to be run out this time by Fraser Young for 0 (3 balls), 120-6. next in was Will Caunce who two runs later was bowled by Jaxon Cornford for 0 (5 balls), 122-7.

The Mawdesley innings came to a close with the last three Mawdesley wickets falling on the same score, Edward Hurst was the first to go stumped by Robert Bridges off Jaxon Cornford for 23 (34 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 129-8, number ten Neil O'Malley was caught by Hasan Zaman off Jaxon Cornford for 0 (2 balls), 129-9. The Mawdesley innings closed on 129 all out in 28.2 overs with the fifth run out Joshua Adamson by Jacob Holland for 1 (8 balls), number eleven Theo Taylor was 0no (did not face a ball).
