The Northern Cricket League Review

The Northern Premier League Division 1 Round 6 saw no change of the top three, Blackpool won at Chorley, Garstang beat St Annes and Carlisle defeated Netherfield

Leyland's victory over Settle saw them move to fourth and Longridge's win at Kendal moved them up to fifth.

In Division 2 Round 7 saw Euxton win at Fulwood & Broughton so Euxton go top and Fulwood & Broughton drop to third, Fleetwood beat Pemwortham and move to second, Barrow defeated Great Eccleston and go fourth.

Lytham's win against Thornton Cleveleys moves them to fifth. Morecambe were the other winners on the day beating Preston.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND

Carlisle v Netherfield

Carlisle won the toss at Edenside and elected to bat first, they lost both openers early, Zephania Arinaitwe was the first out caught behind by Richard Everett off Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 4 (6 balls)(1x4), 4-1, Calum Rowe came in at three but quickly lost his partner Marc Brown caught by Charlie Parkinson off Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 3 (7 balls), 7-2.

Michael Slack was next in and with Calum Rowe had a partnership of 203. Calum Rowe reached his century and was out in the next over caught by Josh Wills off Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 103 (134 balls)(8x4, 3x6), 210-3. The new batsman was Matthew Brown but lost Michael Slack caught by Josh Shorrock off Oli Wileman for 79 (131 balls)(11x4), 226-4.

Ben Davidson joined Brown and they saw Carlisle close on 250-4 in their 50 overs.

The Netherfield bowling figures were Abdu Dayyaan Galiem took 3-48 from 15 overs, Oli Wileman 1-80 off 13, Isaac Medhurst 0-28 from 9, Joe Shorrock 0-28 off 3 and Josh Wills 0-61 from 10.

The visitors got off to a terrible start losing two wickets in the first three balls of the innings bowled by Nico Watt, Charlie Parkinson was bowled second ball for 0 (2 balls), 0-1, Coming in at Three was Ben Barrow, he fell first ball lbw for 0, 0-2.

Bert Medhurst was the new batsman and with Richard Everett set about rebuilding the innings, they moved the score along and were approaching the hundred when two wickets fell, Nico Watt claimed his third and fourth wickets, Richard Everett was caught by Zephania Arinaitwe for 37 (71 balls)(2x4), 90-3, James Royce was next caught by M Brown for 1 (10 balls), 94-4.

Abdu Dayyaan Galiem joined Medhurst but when Michael Slack was introduced into the attack he had Abdu Dayyaan Galiem caught behind by Tom Benn for 15 (18 balls), 131-5. Lee Hogg came to the wicket and was scoring at a run a ball when he was caught by Zephania Arinaitwe off Calum Rowe for 23 (24 balls)(1x4), 176-6.

Oli Wileman replaced Hogg but soon after he lost Bert Medhurst caught by M Brown off Calum Rowe for 81 (155 balls)(6x4), 186-7. Josh Wills joined Wileman but he quickly became Calum Rowe's third victim caught by Ben Purdham for 9 (5 balls)(1x4), 202-8.

Isaac Medhurst came to the wicket and with Oli Wileman saw Netherfiel close on 204-8 in their 50 overs, Oli Wileman 11no (10 balls)(1x4) and Isaac Medhurst 2no (4 balls).

The Carlisle bowling figures were Nico Watt took 4-55 from 15 overs, Calum Rowe 3-35 off 6, Michael Slack 1-14 from 8, Ben Davidson 0-13 off 1, Johnny Westgarth 0-22 from 8 and Ben Purdham 0-54 off 12.

Chorley v Blackpool

Chorley won the toss at Windsor Park and invited the visitors to bat first, Ben Howarth and Dylan Henshall got them off to a steady start, Toby Johnston made the breakthrough Ben Howarth caught by Keegan Petersen for 15 (24 balls)(3x4), 37-1. Coming in at three was Andrew Needham and with Henshall were approaching the hundred when Dylan Henshall was bowled by Luca Doyle for 40 (52 balls)(4x4,1x6), 90-2.

Ali Usman was the new batsman but he became wicket number two for Luca Doyle stumped by Harry Barclay for 25 (45 balls)(3x4), 137-3. Matthew Taaffe joined Needham and they were making good progress until Ed Catt bowled Matthew Taaffe for 17 (37 balls)(1x4), 191-4, Kasim Munir replaced Taaffe but was soon out caught by Ed Catt off Toby Johnston for 4 (9 balls), 209-5.

Tom Myerscough came to the wicket and supported Needham, unfortunately he was run out by Ed Catt for 14 (11 balls(2x4), 240-6. Alex Ryder came to the wicket with seven balls remaining, Andrew Needham reached his century and Blackpool closed on 244-6 in their 50 overs, Andrew Needham was 101no (119 balls)(9x4,3x6) and Alex Ryder 2no (3 balls).

For Chorley Toby Johnston took 2-55 from 10, Luca Doyle 2-64 off 15, Ed Catt 1-43 from 11, Maxwell Seedall 0-32 off 7 and James Lee 0-46 from 7.

The host's got off to a bad start losing Alfie Dobson bowled first ball by Khalil Patel for 0 (1 ball), 0-1. Amaan Sarguru came in at three and with Harry Barclay began to turn the game around, Steven Mercer was brought into the attack and with his second ball bowled Amaan Sarguru for 34 (32 balls)(4x4), 64-2.

Keegan Petersen was next in but with only five runs added he was caught by Ali Usman off Khalil Patel for 5 (12 balls)(1x4), 69-3. Miller Childs replaced Petersen and with Barclay took the score past the hundred, Steven Mercer broke the partnership having Miller Childs caught by Dylan Henshall for 20 (56 balls)(1x4,1x6), 115-4

Kieran Yould joined Barclay but he was bowled by Steven Mercer for 2 (6 balls), 121- 5, Luca Doyle was next in but disaster struck for the hosts Harry Barclay was caught by Dylan Henshall off Steven Mercer for 67 (108 balls)(7x4,2x6), 142-6.

In Steven Mercer's next over he claimed his fifth wicket incoming batsman Ed Catt bowling him for 2 (9 balls), 148-7. In the next over Ali Usman then brought proceedings to an end by completing the hat-trick, first ball he bowled Luca Doyle for 13 (13 balls)(3x4), 148-8, second ball new batsman Toby Johnston was stumped by Ben Howarth for 0 (1 balls), 148-9, third ball number eleven Maxwell Seedall fell lbw for 0 (1 ball) as Chorley were 148 all out in 40.3 overs, James Lee was 0no (4 balls).

The Blackpool bowling was Steven Mercer took 5-35 from 15 overs, Ali Usman 3-48 off 10.3 (including hat-trick), Khalil Patel 2-26 from 10 and Alex Ryder 0-38 off 5.

Garstang v St Annes

Garstang won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and asked the visitors to bat fist, Zain Abbas and Ashton Charles got them off to a good start with an opening stand of 60, Ashton Charles was the man out caught by M Walling off Waris Khan for 22 (46 balls)(4x4), 60-1, Evan Dobson was number three and was supporting Zain Abbas, he fell lbw to Cory Cater for 9 (24 balls), 84-2.

Lukman Vahaluwala was the new batsman but was soon out bowled by Cory Cater for 2 (15 balls), 96-3. Adam Patel joined Abbas, Abbas reached his fifty but was then out caught by M Walling off Lahiru Madushanka for 56 (101 balls)(3x4,2x6), 125-4.

Harry Birkman was next in but four runs later lost Adam Patel caught by Cory Cater off Tom Higson for 13 (26 balls), 129-5. James Bradley came to the wicket and the score was just past the 150 when Harry Birkman fell lbw to Cory Cater for 17 (45 balls)(2x4), 156-6.

Rory Urquhart replaced Birkman but was soon out caught by M Walling off Tom Higson for 11 (9 balls), 170-7. Alex Urquhart was James Bradley's new partner and they saw St Annes close on 173-7 in their 50 overs, James Bradley was 13no (36 balls) and Alex Urquhart 1no (1 ball).

For Garstang Cory Cater took 3-53 from 15 overs, Tom Higson 2-23 off 8, Waris Khan 1-26 from 4, Lahiru Madushanka 1-36 off 15 and Ian Walling 0-29 from 8.

The hosts got off to a poor start losing Michael Walling bowled by Muhammed Patel for 2 (3 balls), 12-1, Number three was Joseph Pearson and with Tom Higson were steadily building the score, Tom Higson was the next man out caught and bowled by Zain Abbas for 26 (34 balls)(2x4), 48-2.

Lahiru Madushanka was next in and was scoring well until he was caught by Zain Abbas off Adam Patel for 25 (21 balls), (3x4,1x6), 87-3. Theo Smith joined Pearson and they took the score to the hundred, Muhammed Patel broke the partnership having Joseph Pearson caught behind by James Bradley for 31 (78 balls)(4x4), 102-4.

Mark Walling joined Smith and were in sight of victory when Adam Patel bowled Mark Walling for 27 (44 balls)(3x4,1x6), 161-5. Nisanth Nithian was the new batsman and with Smith saw Garstang home closing on 176-5 in 43.5 overs, Theo Smith was 39no (78 balls)(4x4,2x6) and Nisanth Nithian 9no (9 balls)(1x6).

For St Annes Muhammed Patel took 2-43 from 10overs, Adam Patel 2-68 off 13, Zain Abbas 1-21 from 8.4, Lukman Vahaluwala 0-18 off 7 and Rory Urquhart 0-19 from 5.

Kendal v Longridge

Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and put the visitors into bat, They lost an early wicket Luke Platt caught behind by Finlay Richardson off Louis Backhouse for 3 (10 balls), 11-1. Matthew De Villiers was the Longridge number three and with Joshua Mullin took the score past the hundred, Freddie Fallows broke the partnership Matthew De Villiers caught by Bradley Earl for 56 (63 balls)(7x4), 104-2.

Rob Hollinghurst was in next but one run later was bowled by Christopher Miller for 0 (7 balls), 105-3, James Whitehead replaced Hollinghurst and supported Joshua Mullin, He fell caught by Freddie Fallows off Christopher Miller for 7 (19 balls), 126-4.

Alex Mason was the new batsman and he supported Mullin, Christopher Miller made the breakthrough Alex Mason stumped by Finlay Richardson for 12 (24 balls)(2x4), 162-5, Christopher Miller struck again incoming Kieran McClintock caught by Louis Backhouse for 6 (11 balls), 190-6.

Joshu Mullin's new partner was Louie Trayers and they saw Longridge close on 202-6 in their 50 overs, Joshua Mullin was 92no (144 balls)(7x4) and Louie Trayers 6no (5 balls)(1x4).

The Kendal Bowling figures were Christopher Miller took 4-61 from 13 overs, Louis Backhouse 1-29 off 5, Freddie Fallows 1-46 from 14, Matt Jackson 0-16 off 5 and Kuldeep Singh 0-43 from 9.

The Kendal reply did not start well with the loss of early wickets, Jonathan Millward had Ikram Ullah caught by Alex Mason for 2 (14 balls), 7-1, number three was Finlay Richardson but he lost Darren Nightingale caught behind by Louie Trayers off Kieran McClintock for 5 (12 balls), 17-2.

Cole Abrahams was in next but disaster for the hosts Finlay Richardson was run out by Jake Durnell for 4 (18 bals)(1x4), 21-3. Freddie Fallows was the new batsman but was quickly out bowled by Jonathan Millward for 3 (6 balls), 25-4.

James Bowman joined Abrahams and they slowly began to rebuild the innings, they looked to be making progress when James Bowman was caught by Jake Durnell off Jonathan Millward for 27 (50 balls)(3x4), 83-5. Bradley Earl came to the wicket but disaster for the hosts with only six runs added Cole Abrahams was caught by Jonathan Millward off Alex Mason for 31 (57 balls)(3x4), 89-6.

Chrisopher Miller replaced Abrahams but shortly afterwards three wickets fell for two runs, Bradley Earl was out lbw off Alax Mason for 7 (12 balls)(1x4), 97-7, one run later incoming batsman Louis Backhouse was caught by Joshau Mullin off Matthew De Villiers for 1 (4 balls), 98-.8

Matt Jackson was next in but in the next over he fell lbw to Alex Mason for 1 ( 5 balls), 99-9. The Kendal number eleven was Kuldeep Singh and he soon became Alex Mason's fourth wicket bowled for 2 (7 balls) as Kendal were bowled out for 111 in 33.4 overs, Christopher Miller was 15no (25 balls)(1x6).

For Longridge Alex Mason took 4-24 from 7 overs, Jonathan Millward 3-30 off 10, Kieran McClintock 1-14 from 6, Matthew De Villiers 1-38 off 10.

Leyland v Settle

Leyland won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground invited the visitors to take the first knock, They got a steady start with Will Davidson and Noah Smith, Sam Oldham broke the partnership having Noah Smith caught by Taj Ballantyne for 7 (31 balls), 26-1, Benjamin Hulse was number three but disaster struck the visitors losing three wickets for one run, Will Davidson was bowled by Sam Oldham for 25 (39 balls)(2x6), 33-2. Andre Roach came to the wicket but one run later Liam Hurt bowled Benjamin Hulse for 0 (8 balls), 34-3, Harvey Green was next in but in Liam Hurt's next over was bowled for 0 (6 balls), 34-4.

James Snowden replaced Green and ten runs had been added when Andre Roach was caught by Karl Cross off Sam Oldham for 3 (21 balls), 44-5. Sunny Singh came to the wicket and Oldham struck again with his fourth wicket having Sunny Singh caught by Karl Cross for 5 924 balls , 55-6.

James Snowden had a new partner in Harry Snowden and they set about turning the game around, with their partnership on 90 James Snowden was caught by Andrew Jacques off Liam Hurt for 54 (90 balls)(6x4,1x6), 145-7. John Davidson was the new batsman but was quickly out caught by Sam Oldham off Taj Ballantyne for 0 (3 balls), 146-8.

Tom Davidson came to the crease and was out on the last ball of the innings caught by Andrew Jacques off Liam Hurt for 2 (4 balls) as Settle closed on 151-9 in their 50overs, Harry Snowden 43no (77 balls)(4x4).

The Leyland bowling was Liam Hurt took 4-28 from 12 overs, Sam Oldham 4-41 off 15, Taj Ballantyne 1-20 from 6, Will Smith 0-24 off 6 and Andrew Jacques 0-33 from 11.

The Leyland reply got off to a bad start losing both openers cheaply, Harry Snowden bowled Xander Eyre for 0 (2 balls), 1-1, Karl Cross was the Leyland number three and saw Harry Snowden strike again bowling Zak Willox for 2 (16 balls), 15-2.

Sam Oldham joined Cross with the job of rebuilding the innings, they were going well until Sunny Singh trapped Karl Cross lbw for 37 (50 balls)(6c4), 86-3. Jacob Wright replaced Cross and with Oldham saw Leyland to victory closing on 154-3 in 31.5 overs, Sam Oldham was 67no (76 balls)(9x4) and Jacob Wright 29no (48 balls)(4x4).

The Settle bowling figures were Harry Snowden took 2-22 from 5 overs, Sunny Singh 1-39 off 11, John Davidson 0-7 from 2, John Hughes 0-25 off 6,James Snowden 0-26 from 2.5 and Tom Davidson 0-32 off 5.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 4

Barrow v Great Eccleston

Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and invited the visitors to bat first, They got off to a terrible start losing three wickets with the score on 7, Daryl Wearing started the mini collapse trapping Matthew Lawrenson lbw for 3 (8 balls), 7-1, Alexander Rhodes was in at three but in the next over lost Will Smith bowled by Hardus Coetzer for 5 (11 balls)(1x4), 7-2.

Tyler McGladdery joined Lawrenson but Daryl Wearing struck again bowling Alexander Rhodes for 0 (11 balls), 7-3. Mohammed Fazil was next in but he too did not last long lbw to Hardus Coetzer for 4 (11 balls), 15-4.

Will Turnbull was the new batsman and with McGladdery leading the way kept the scoreboard moving, disaster struck the visitors with Will Turnbull run out by Jack Singleton for 10 (46 balls), 89-5. Matt Moat replaced Turnbull but two runs later was caught by Jack Singleton off Simon Chadd for 1 (8 balls), 91-6,

Joe McMillan came to the wicket but in the next over fell lbw to Declan Tyson for 1 (7 balls), 92-7. Tyler McGladdery had a new partner in Phil Booth and with McGladdery taking most of the strike kept the runs coming. Declan Tyson broke the partnership bowling Phil Booth for 1 (31 balls), 123-8, History repeated itself for in the next over incoming batsman Jim Proctor was bowled by Hardus Coetzer for 0 (5 balls), 124-9.

Emran Patel was the number eleven, Tyler McGladdery reached his century but in the next over was caught by Simon Chadd off Hardus Coetzer for 106 (134 balls)(9x4,6x6) as Great Eccleston were bowled out for 146 in 46.4 overs with Emran Patel 1no (9 balls).

Hardus Coetzer lead the Barrow bowling taking 4-18 from 11.4 overs, Daryl Wearing 2-29 off 11, Declan Tyson 2-38 from 9, Simon Chadd 1-18 off 7, Dan Adams 0-13 from 2 and Sam Henderson 0-23 off 6.

The Barrow reply got off to a poor start losing two early wickets, Alexander Rhodes bowled Simon Chadd for 4 (6 balls)(1x4), 5-1, Oliver Whalley was the hosts number three but quickly fell bowled by Alexander Rhodes for 2 (8 balls), 15-2.

Hardus Coetzer joined Luke Callow but four runs later Luke Callow was caught by Phil Booth off Jim Proctor for 5 (8 balls)(1x4), 20-3. Sam Dutton was the new batsman and with Coetzer were in sight of victory when Alexander Rhodes bowled Hardus Coetzer for 38 (70 balls)(3x4,1x6), 142-4.

Jack Singleton was next in and saw Sam Dutton hit the winning runs as Barrow closed on 149-4 in 33.5 overs with Sam Dutton 89no (105 balls)(11x4,2x6) and Jack Singleton 1no (6 balls).

The Great Eccleston bowling was Alexander Rhodes took 3-48 from 10 overs, Jim Proctor 1-24 off 5, Mohammed Fazil 0-14 from 1.5, Tyler McGladdery 0-17 off 5, Phil Booth 0-21 from 7 and Will Smith 0-25 off 5

Fulwood & Broughton v Euxton

Fulwood and Broughton won the toss at the Highfield ground and elected to bat first, they lost two early wickets, Ewen Mansford was caught and bowled by Josh Boyden for 6 (7 balls)(1x4), 7-1, number three Ben Rosbottom fell one run later caught by James Bone off Joseph Bowden for 0 (6 balls), 8-2.

Charlie Rossiter joined Matt Smith and they were going well, James Bone broke the partnership having Matt Smith caught by Josh Tolley for 53 (72 balls)(7x4,2x6), 102-4. Clayton Stone was the new batsman but five runs later was bowled by James Bone for 3 (9 balls), 107-4.

Simon Kerrigan replaced Stone and with Rossiter continued to make good progress, Jame Bone once again made the breakthrough Charlie Rossiter caught by Nishan Peiris for 78 (95 balls)(10x4,4x6), 168-5. James McWilliam came to the wicket and kept the scoreboard ticking over, Simon Kerrigan was next out caught and bowled by Josh Boyden for 40 (41 balls)(4x4,1x6), 199-6.

Ben Parkinson was next in but the hosts lost four wickets in four overs, James Bone had James McWilliam caught by Jack Shovelton for 15 (21 balls), 211-7, in the next over Kashif Jamil was caught and bowled by Josh Boyden, James Bone claimed his fifth wicket Ben Parkinson lbw for 4 (14 balls), 212-9.

Marcus Allen had a new partner in Chris Brookes but was caught by Nishan Peiris off Josh Boyden for 0 (3 balls) as Fulwood and Broughton were bowled out for 212 in 46.1 overs with Chris Brookes 0no (3 balls).

The Euxton bowling figures were James Bone took 5-53 from 12 overs, Josh Boyden 4-38 off 14.1, Joseph Bowden 1-41 from 8, Joseph Barker 0-31 off 4 and Nishan Peiris 0-46 from 8.

Marcus Allen took an early wicket bowling Jack Morgan for 5 (24 balls)(1x4), 16-1, The Euxton number three was James Bone and with Josh Tolley moved the score along, Simon Kerrigan broke the partnership Josh Tolley caught by Charlie Rossiter for 36 (62 balls)(3x4,2x6), 93-2.

Ben Houghton was in next but was soon out caught by Charlie Rossiter off Simon Kerrigan for 4 (11 balls)(1x4), 102-3, Josh Boyden joined Bone and they were moving along nicely, Ben Rosbottom was brought on to bowl and with his second ball had Josh Boyden caught by Matt Smith for 16 (21 balls)(2x4), 134-4.

Nishan Peiris replaced Boyden and Ben Rosbottom struck again James Bone out caught by Simon Kerrigan for 73 (123 balls)(8x4), 160-5. Jack Shovelton was the new batsman and was scoring over a run a ball but fell caught behind by James McWilliam off Simon Kerrigan for 18 (14 balls)(1x4,2x6), 179-6.

Alfie Delve was Nishan Peiris's new partner, Nishan Peiris hit 17 runs off the 46th over leaving the visitors needing 14 runs off 18 balls with 3 wickets in hand, Simon Kerrigan bowled the next over and took wickets with his first and second balls, Alfie Delve was bowled for 2 (4 balls), 199-8, he also bowled incoming batsman Joseph Barker for his fifth wicket first ball for 0 (1 ball), 199-8.

Elliot Mackrael came to the wicket and played out the rest of the over, Nishan Peiris hit seven runs off the next over but Elliot Mackrael was run out on the fifth ball for 0 (5 balls), 206-9.

Joseph Bowden was number eleven, Nishan Peiris took a one off the last ball and faced Simon Kerrigan for the last over with six required for the win, off the second ball he hit the six and claimed victory for the visitors closing on 213-9 in 49.2 overs, Nishan Peiris was 40no (34 balls)(1x4,4x6) and Josph Bowden was 0no (did not face a ball).

The Fulwood & Broughton bowling was Simon Kerrigan took 5-66 from 13.2 overs, Ben Rosbottom 2-37 off 6, Marcus Allen 1-23 from 8, Chris Brookes 0-38 off 11 and Kashif Jamil 0-47 from 11.

Lytham v Thornton Cleveleys

Thornton Cleveleys won the toss at Church Road and put the hosts into bat, Guy Roberts and Ryan Norris were their opening batsmen, Ryan Norris was the first man out caught by Joshua Sackfield off Joshau Rolinson for 13 (39 balls)(1x4), 28-1. Archie Banks-Smith was in at three and with Roberts were making steady progress, Joshua Sackfield broke the partnership Guy Roberts caught and bowled for 47 (79 balls)(7x4), 95-2.

Henry Roberts was the new batsman but he soon lost Archie Banks-Smith lbw to Joshhua Rolinson for 38 (62 balls)(5x4), 118-3, Sahaan Sahaan joined Roberts but with only six runs added Henry Roberts was caught by Joshua Sackfield off Evan Martin for 14 (15 balls)(3x4), 124-4.

The next man in was Stewart Davison but with the score on 150 Sahaan Sahaan became Joshua Rolinson's third wicket caught by Joshua Sackfield for 15 (17 balls)(1x4,1x6), 150-5. Alex Higham replaced Sahaan but one run later was caught by Kai Collinge off Anthony Ellison for 1 (4 balls), 151-6.

Ben Saunders came to the wicket and with Davison were keeping the scoreboard ticking over until Anthony Ellison took two wickets in two balls, he bowled Ben Saunders for 11 (18 balls)(1x4), 172-7, incoming batsman James Fiddler was stumped by Sam Curwen next ball for 0 (1 ball), 172-8.

Stewart Davison had a new partner in Antony Mulligan, Stewart Davison was the next man out lbw to Antony Ellison for 25 (43 balls)(1x4,1x6), 187-9. Sabbir Patel was in at eleven, Antony Mulligan was scoring at a run a ball until he was run out by Joshua Sackfield for 21 (20 balls)(2x4) as Lytham were bowled out for 204 in their 50 overs, Sabbir Patel was 1no (2 balls).

The Thornton Cleveleys bowling figures were Anthony Ellison took 4-36 from 8 overs, Joshua Rolinson 3-43 off 15, Even Martin 1-14 from 2, Joshua Sackfield 1-38 off 7,Christopher Hedges 0-18 from 3 and Jake Apperley 0-53 off 15.

The visitors reply got off to a poor start losing two early wickets, Kai Collinge was the first to go lbw to Sabbir Patel for 6 (20 balls), 9-1. The visitors number three was Sam Curwen who was quickly out caught by Henry Roberts off Antony Mulligan for 1 (9 balls),15-2.

Joshua Sackfield was next in and with Josh Borrell had doubled the score when Antony Mulligan took two wickets in two balls, Joshua Sackfield was caught by Henry Roberts for 6 (17 balls), 31-3, next ball incoming batsman Will Weber was trapped lbw for 0 (1 balls), 31-4.

Joshua Rolinson joined Borrell, but two runs later Josh Borrell was caught by Antony Mulligan off Sabbir Patel for 19 (54 balls)(1x4), 33-5. Christopher Hedges was the new batsman and with Rolinson dug in and tried to rebuild the innings, Sahaan Sahhan broke the partnership having Joshua Rolinson caught by Henry Roberts for 8 (40 balls), 49-6.

Jake Apperley came to the wicket and with Hedges were making progress, disaster struck the visitors losing three wickets for two runs, Jake Apperley fell lbw to Ben Saunders for 13 (29 balls)(2x4), 78-7, Evan Martin was the new batsman but in the next over Sahaan Sahhan took two wickets in three balls, Christopher Hedges was caught by Alex Higham for 18 (47 balls)(3x4), 78-8. Ethan Elphick came to the wicket took two runs off his first ball but was out caught by Archie Banks-Smith off his second ball for 2 (2 balls), 80-9.

The man in at eleven was Anthony Ellison who was soon out bowled by Sahaan Sahaan for 6 (10 balls) as Thornton Cleveleys were bowled out for 99 in 40.5 overs, Evan Martin was 8no (16 balls).

All the Lytham bowlers took a wicket, Sahaan Sahaan took 4-21 from 10.5 overs, Antony Mulligan 3-18 off 10, Sabbir Patel 2-41 from 15 and Ben Saunders 1-19 off 5.

Penwortham v Fleetwood

Penwortham won the toss at Middleforth Green and asked the visitors to bat first, Andy Drake and Jeremy Davies opened with Jeremy Davies the first man out caught by Matt Halliday off Nathan Elliott for 11 (15 balls)(2x4), 22-1. Muhammed Hurraira was in at three and with Andy Drake were going well, Nathan Walmsley made the breakthrough trapping Andy Drake lbw for 37 (62 balls)(4x4,1x6), 90-2.

Harry McAleer was next in but quickly out caught by Nathan Elliott off Kriston Yearwood for 0 (6 balls), 105-3. Wood Wilson replaced McAleer but he too was soon out lbw off Nathan Walmsley for 9 (14 balls)(2x4), 120-4.

Tomas King joined Hurraira and they had the scoreboard ticking over until they both fell, Muhammed Hurraira went first caught behind by Robbie Sumner off Nathan Walmsley for 74 (71 balls)(8x4,4x6), 163-5, Charlie Clark came to the wicket but three runs later Nathan Walmsley struck again Tomas King caught by Nathan Elliott for 16 (13 balls)(1x4,1x6), 166-6.

Declan Clerkin was next in and with Clark kept the score moving along, they took the score past the two hundred when Charlie Clark was caught by Nathan Elliott off Isaac Roberts for 17 (38 balls)(3x4), 211-7, Nathan Bend was the new batsman and with Clerkin continued to build the score, Nathan Elliott made the breakthrough having Declan Clerkin caught behind by Robbie Sumner for 52 (41 balls)(8x4,1x6), 262-8.

Hassan Mughal was Nathan Bend's new partner but with only four runs added Isaac Roberts took two wickets in three balls, Nathan Bend was caught by Kriston Yearwood for 19 (18 balls)(3x4), 266-9, Matthew Siddall was number eleven and he was bowled two balls later for 0 as Fleetwood were bowled out for 266 in 46.4 overs with Hassan Mughal 0no (did not face a ball).

The Penwortham bowling was Nathan Walmsley took 4-80 form 15 overs, Isaac Robert 3-65 off 12.4, Nathan Elliott 2-52 from 10, Kriston Yearwood 1-46 off 7 and Matt Halliday 0-20 from 2.

The hosts opening pair Kriston Yearwood and Ian Walmsley Jnr gave them a good start broken by Hassan Mughal having Ian Walmsley Jnr caught behind by Harry McAleer for 14 (28 balls)(1x4,1x6), 38-1. Matt Halliday was the number three but three runs later fell lbw to Matthew Siddall for 1 (5 balls), 41-2.

Edward Duckworth was the new batsman but he soon became wicket number two for Matthew Siddall caught by Muhammed Hurraira for 7 (15 balls)(1x4), 51-3, Robbie Sumner joined Yearwood but before he could settle was caught by Tomas King off Declan Clerkin for 6 (13 balls)(1x4), 69-4.

Kane Donaghy replaced Sumner but with only four runs added was bowled by Declan Clerkin for 4 (5 balls)(1x4), 73-5. Rayyan Tailor was Yearwood's new partner and they looked to be making some progress when Declan Clerkin struck having Rayyan Tailor caught behind by Harry McAleer for 19 (33 balls)(2x4,1x6), 105-7. Nathan Elliott came to the wicket but lost Kriston Yearwood whose battling innings came to an end caught by Hassan Mughal off Declan Clerkin for 43 (66 balls)(2x4,3x6), 110-7.

Isaac Richardson was the new batsman but saw Harry McAleer stump Nathan Elliott off Mathew Siddall for 1 (8 balls), 112-8, Nathan Wlmsley came to the wicket, Declan Clerkin claimed his fifth wicket Isaac Richardson caught behind by Harry McAleer for 1 (7 balls), 114-9.

The Penwotham last man was Isaac Roberts, in the next over Nathan Walmsley was out caught by Nathan Bend off Matthew Siddall for 2 (8 balls) as Penwortham ere bowled out for 114 in 31.2 overs with Isaac Roberts 0no (did not face a ball).

Declan Clerkin and Matthew Siddall did the damage for Fleetwood, Declan Clerkin took 5-28 from 9 over, Matthew Siddall 4-51 off 13.2 with Hassan Mughal 1-22 from 7 and Nathan Bend 0-11 off 2.

Preston v Morecambe

Morecambe won the toss at West Cliff and invited the hosts to bat first, They lost Sajid Patel on the fourth ball of the innings caught by Joel Creech off Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 0 (4 balls), 0-1, The Preston number three was Imran Mehmood who went on the attack but fell caught by Joe Davies off Michael Bland for 10 (7 balls)(2x4), 21-2.

Suhel Patel joined Imran Navazish Ali but he was soon out caught by Siddarth Ahhuja off Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 5 (16 balls), 38-3. Ahmed Saeed Bariwala was next in and with Ali looked to be making progress when Lloyd (Adam) Smith struck again having Navazish Ali caught by Siddarth Ahhuja for 38 (57 balls)(5x4,1x6), 61-4.

Sajid Nalbandh was the new batsman, Siddarth Ahhuja was introduced into the attack and in his first over had Sajid Nalbandh caught behind by Reuben Orr for 2 (9 balls), 71-5. next in was Basim Ali but in Siddarth Ahhuja's next over he took two wickets in three balls, Basim Ali was caught behind by Reuben Orr for 1 (6 balls), 73-6, incoming batsman Fazan Patel was bowled for 0 (2 balls), 73-7.

Ismail Patel was Ahmed Saeed Bariwala new partner and they had taken the score past the hundred when disaster struck with Ahmed Saeed Bariwala run out by Usman Haider for 26 (60 balls), 104-8. Talha Patel came to the wicket but one run later lost Ismail Patel was caught and bowled by Siddarth Ahhuja for 10 (30 balls), 105-9.

ShaidHusain Haji came in at eleven but lost his partner as Siddarth Ahhuja claimed his fifth wicket Talha Patel lbw for 3 (8 balls) as Preston were bowled out for 114 in 33.4 overs, ShaidHusain Haji was 7no (4 balls)(1x6).

For Morecambe Siddarth Ahhuja took 5-15 from 7.4 overs, Lloyd (Adam) Smith 3-58 off 13, Michael Bland 1-25 from 9 and Usamn Haider 0-15 off 4.

The Morecambe reply got off to a bad start losing two wickets with the score on nine, Imran Mehmood did the damage with two wickets in two balls, Andrew Creech was bowled for 2 (6 balls), 9-1, Joe Davies was the Morecambe number three and fell first ball lbw for 0, 9-2.

Siddarth Ahhuja joined Lewis Smith but Imran Mehmood struck again trapping Lewis Smith lbw for 7 (21 balls), 27-3. Joseph Bradshaw was the new batsman and with Ahhuja leading the way kept the scoreboard ticking over, Talha Patel was brought on to bowl and with his second ball bowled Joseph Bradshaw for 4 (29 balls), 59-4.

Joel Creech was next in but soon became wicket number two for Talha Patel bowled for 1 (16 balls), 73-5. Reuben Orr replaced Creech but with only six runs added disaster struck for the visitors Siddarth Ahhuja was bowled by Ismail Patel for 50 (57 balls)(6x4,2x6), 79-6.

Usman Haider joined Orr and they made life difficult for themselves with Reuben Orr being run out by Basim Ali for 6 (25 balls), 90-7. Lloyd (Adam) Smith came to the wicket with the game in the balance, the visitors requiring 35 runs with three wickets left in a low scoring match, Haider and Smith took the score to 100, Imran Mehmood claimed his fourth wicket Usman Haider caught behind by Basim Ali for 6 (22 balls), 100-8.

Steve Mawson was next in 15 required but with only two runs scored he was run out by Imran Mehmood for 1 (2 balls), 102-9, Michael Bland came in at eleven and with Lloyd (Adam) Smith saw Morecambe to victory closing on 115-9 in 36.4 overs with Lloyd (Adam) Smith 12no (29 balls)and Michael Bland 4no (12 balls).

The Preston bowling was Imran Mehmood took 4-39 from 13 overs, Talha Patel 2-18 off 6, Ismail Patel 1-29 from 12.4 and ShaidHusain Haji 0-16n off 5.

Whalley v Carnforth

Carnforth won the toss at Station Road and put the hosts into bat, openers Toby Birtwistle and Aman Singh got off to a steady start, Aman Singh was the first out caught by Tom Parkinson off James Park Johnson for 2 (16 balls), 25-1. The man in at three was Frankie Jackson but with only one run added he fell lbw to Alfie Hill for 0 (3 balls), 26-2.

Levi Wolfenden joined Birtwistle but James Park Johnson struck having Toby Birtwistle caught behind by Bradley Hoyle for 10 (53 balls), 47-3. Hamish Mullavey-Clark was next in and with Wolfenden had just taken the score past the hundred when Hamish Mullavey-Clark was bowled by Jaco Beneke for 32 (78 balls)(3x4), 107-4.

Ethan Jackson was the new batsman and with Wolfenden were making progress, Jaco Beneke broke the partnership having Levi Wolfenden caught by Joel Frith for 48 (89 balls)(3x4), 132-5. Thomas Cameron replaced Wolfenden, James Park Johnson returned to the attack and in his first over had Ethan Jackson caught by Sam Woodburn for 23 (28 balls)(1x6), 146-6.

Joshau Dentith came to the wicket but was quickly out caught behind by Bradley Hoyle off Jaco Beneke for 9 (5 balls)(1x6), 159-7. Ewan McDonald came in next but did not last long bowled by James Park Johnson for 1 (2 balls), 161-8.

Noah Thornton was Thomas Cameron's new partner and they saw Whalley close on 167-8 in their 50 overs, Thomas Cameron was 15no (23 balls)(2x4) and Noah Thornton 1no (2 balls).

The Carnforth bowling figures were James Park Johnson took 4-46 from 13 overs, Jaco Beneke 3-53 off 15, Alfie Hill 1-17 from 7 and Freddie Whatmuff 0-45 off 15.

In reply Carnforth lost the top three early, Joel Frith was caught behind by Thomas Cameron off Joshua Dentith for 1 (18 balls), 10-1, Number three was James Park Johnson who fell in Joshua Dentith's next over caught by Ewan McDonald for 0 (7 balls), 14-2..

Jaco Beneke was next in but saw Ryan Nelson bowled by Levi Wolfenden for 13 (41 balls)(2x4), 19-3. Freddie Whatmuff joined Beneke and they began to turn the innings around, Joshua Dentith broke the partnership having Jaco Beneke caught by Freddie Jackson for 9 (19 balls)(2x4), 53-4.

Tom Parkinson was the new batsman and with Whatmuff had nearly doubled the score when Tom Parkinson was out lbw off Levi Wolfenden for 24 (42 balls)(4x4), 102-5. Bradley Hoyle replaced Parkinson but the reurn of Hamish Mullavey-Clark to the attack saw Bradley Hoyle fall lbw for 9 (23 balls), 126-6.

Sam Frith came to the wicket but two runs later disaster for the visitors Freddie Whatmuff was out caught behind by Thomas Cameron off Levi Wolfenden for 64 (86 balls)(3x4,3x6), 128-7. Jack Huntington came to the wicket but was run out by Levi Wolfenden for 1 (6 balls), 134-8.

Sam Woodburn was Sam Frith's new partner but with only two runs added saw Sam Frith out caught by Joshua Dentith off Toby Birtwistle for 6 (8 balls)(1x4), 136-9. Alfie Hill was in at eleven but in the next over Sam Woodburn was caught by Aman Singh off Hamish Mullavey-Clark for 0 (4 balls) as Carnforth were bowled out for 136 in 42.3 overs, Alfie Hill was 0no (1 ball).

The Whalley bowling was Levi Wolfenden took 3-45 from 15 overs, Joshua Dentith 3-50 off 15, Hamis Mullavey-Clark 2-20 from 5.3, Toby Birtwistle 1-1 off 1 and Ewan McDonald 0-18 from 6.
