The Northern Cricket League Review

It is Division 1 Round 4 of the Northern Premier Cricket League, The two newly promoted clubs stand at the head of the table and both played teams from Kendal, Carlisle won at Kendal to go top of the league and St Annes had a home win against Netherfield to go second, Leyland won the local derby against Chorley to go third.

In the other two games Garstang beat Longridge and Blackpool won at Settle.

In Division 2 Round 5 The top three all won, Fulwood & Broughton away win against Penwortham keeps them top, Fleetwood's home win against Lytham moves them up to second, Euxton won at Morecambe but drop to third.

Great Eccleston had their first victory of the season against Whalley, Barrow beat Thornton Cleveleys and Preston had a home win against Carnforth.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 4

Garstang v Longridge

Garstang won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and put the visitors into bat, Longridge got off to a terrible start losing four wickets cheaply, Lahiru Madushanka did the damage, With the third ball of the innings he trapped Joshua Mullin lbw for 0 (3 balls), 0-1, Louie Trayers came in at three, in Madushanka's next over he took wickets with his first and last balls of the over, opener Rhys Morgan was caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 0 (5 balls), 4-2, incoming batsman Matthew De Villiers was next out caught by Tom Higson for 0 (5 balls), 7-3.

Luke Platt joined Louie Trayers but did not fair any better falling to Cory Cater caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 0 (4 balls), 13-4. Rob Hollinghurst was next in and with Trayers tried to rebuild the innings, Danny Gilbert came on first change and with his third ball had Louie Trayers lbw for 14 (27 balls)(3x4), 35-5.

Alex Mason was next in but two runs later Rob Hollinghurst fell to Madushanka caught by Tom Higson for 13 (31 balls)(2x4), 37-6. Kieran McClintock replaced Hollinghurst but disaster struck for the visitors both falling on the same score, Alex Mason went first caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Danny Gilbert for 9 (18 balls)(2x4), 47-7, Joe Lyth came to the wicket but Kieran McClintock became Lahiru Madushanka's fifth wicket caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 0 (8 balls), 47-8.

Jonathan Millward was the new batsman but with only six runs added was bowled by Danny Gilbert for 0 (9 balls), 53-9, Jake Durnell came in at eleven but soon became wicket number six for Lahiru Madushanka bowled for 3 (2 balls) as Longridge were bowled out for 56 in 20.1 overs with Joe Lyth 0no (10 balls).

Garstang used only three bowlers, Lahiru Madushanka took 6-5 from 10.1 overs, Danny Gilbert 3-16 off 5 and Corey Cater 1-25 from 5.

The Garstang openers Tom Higson and Michael Walling got off to a steady start but two wickets in two balls by Kieran McClintock caused a stir, he had Tom Higson caught by Luke Platt for 9 (16 balls), 23-1, he them bowled number three Joseph Pearson first ball for 0, 23-2.

Lahiru Madushanka came to the wicket and with Michael Walling saw the hosts to victory closing on 57-2 in only 10 overs, Michael Walling was 19no (39 balls)(3x4) and Lahiru Madushanka 13no (13 balls)(2x4).

For Longridge Kieran McCLintock took 2-30 from 5 overs and Jonathan Millard 0-26 off 5

Kendal v Carlisle

Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and invited Carlisle to bat first, The openers Zephania Arinaitwe and Marc Brown got them off to a brisk start but on reaching 20 Marc Brown fell lbw to Louis Backhouse for 6 (9 balls)(1x4), 20-1, Calum Rowe was the number three but with only six runs added was out lbw to Matt Jackson for 0 (3 balls), 26-2.

Michael Slack was the new batsman and he supported Arinaitwe until he was caught behind by Finlay Richardson off Louis Backhouse for 8 (31 balls), 61-3, Ben Davidson replaced Slack but soon became Louis Backhouse's next victim caught behind by Finlay Richardson for 0 (7 balls), 75-4.

Logan Edgar came to the wicket but then Louis Backhouse claimed the vital wicket of Zephania Arinaitwe caught behind by Finlay Richardson for 60 (51 balls)(2x4,4x6), 80-5. Freddie Newton joined Logan Edgar and they took the score past the hundred when Freddie Fallows bowled Edgar for 14 (42 balls)(1x4), 112-6.

Nico Watt was Freddie Newton's new partner and they took the score past the 150 mark then disaster struck losing their last four wickets for 3 runs, Freddie Fallows had Freddie Newton caught by Louis Backhouse for 39 (69 balls)(4x4,1x6), 154-7, Matt Jackon came back into the attack and took three wickets in an over, his second ball bowled saw James Lythgoe bowled for 1 (7 balls), 156-8, fourth ball incoming batsman Kieran Titterington caught by Cole Abrahams for 0 (2 balls), 156-9, Craig Manchester came in at eleven and saw on the sixth ball Nico Watt caught by Louis Backhouse for 13 (25 balls) as Carlisle were bowled out for 157 in 41 overs, Craig Manchester was 0no (1 ball).

The Kendal bowling was Matt Jackson took 4-38 from 8 overs, Louis Backhouse 4-53 off 15, Freddie Fallows 2-49 from 15 and Chris Miller 0-13 off 3.

In reply Kendal lost both openers early, James Bowman was bowled by Michael Slack for 4 (17 balls)(1x4), 15-1, Finlay Richardson came in at three but two runs later lost Darren Nightingale bowled by Nico Watt for 12 (12 balls)(1x4,1x6), 17-2.

Finlay Richardson had a new partner in Cole Abrahams, they were scoring quickly until Finlay Richardson was caught by Freddie Newton off Michael Slack for 18 (10 balls)(2x4,1x6), 45-3. Freddie Fallows was the new batsman but Michael Slack struck again having Cole Abrahams caught by Ben Davidson for 22 (28 balls)(3x4), 67-4.

Bradley Earl was next in but was soon out caught by Marc Brown off Nico Watt for 7 (9 balls)(1x4), 82-5. Lewis Richardson replaced Earl but three runs later was bowled by Nico Watt for 1 (9 balls), 85-6. Disaster struck the home side losing three wickets for two runs, two on the same score, Christopher Miller joined Freddie Fallows who was next out lbw to Michael Slack for 18 (29 balls)(2x4), 89-7.

Louis Backhouse came to the wicket but soon became Michael Slack's fifth wicket caught by Calum Rowe for 0 (10 balls), 91-8, Matt Jackson was the new batsman but saw Christopher Miller fall lbw by Nico Watt for 2 (10 balls), 91-9.

Last man in was Alec Carradus and seven runs later saw Nico Watt claim his fifth wicket and victory with Matt Jackson out caught and bowled for 0 (1 ball) as Kendal were bowled out for 98 in 24.1 overs with Alec Carradus 5no (10 balls).

Carlisle only used two bowlers and they both took five wickets, Nico Watt took 5-46 from 12.1 overs and Michael Slack 5-51 off 12.

Leyland v Chorley

Leyland won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and asked the visitors to bat first, Alfie Dobson and Edward Guyton opened , The visitors got off to a bad start losing Edward Guyton in the second over caught behind by Reiss Carrington off Andrew Jacques for 0 (4 balls), 0-1. The Chorley number three was Edwin Moulton, the batsmen had to work for their runs, Andrew Jacques struck again having Alfie Dobson caught behind for 13 (33 balls)(2x4), 23-2.

Keegan Petersen was in next and with Moulton began to build up a score, Liam Hurt was introduced into the attack and in his first over had Keegan Petersen caught behind by Reiss Carrington for 13 (25 balls)(1x4), 71-3, Miller Childs was the new batsman but was soon out caught by Taj Ballantyne off Sam Oldham for 1 (12 balls), 77-4.

Will Moulton came to the wicket but six runs later fell lbw to Liam Hurt for 0 (16 balls), 83-5. Kieran Yould replaced Moulton but was Liam Hurt's next victim bowled for 2 (10 balls), 85-6. Luca Doyle was Edwin Moulton's next partner and they took the score to 100 when Luca Doyle was caught by Taj Ballantyne off Sam Oldham for 12 (32 balls)(1x4), 100-7.

Harry Barclay came to the wicket and with Moulton were making some progress. Andrew Jacques was brought back into the attack and he caught and bowled Harry Barclay for 7 (22 balls), 136-7. Maxwell Seedall joined Moulton was quickly out caught by Liam Hurt off Will Smith for 4 (7 balls), 141-9.

Number eleven was Ed Catt and with Edwin Moulton saw Chorley close on 172-9 in their 50 overs, Edwin Moulton was 78no (127 balls)(5x4,2x6) and Ed Catt 17no (19 balls)(2x4).

The Leyland bowling figures were Liam Hurt took 3-36 from 13 overs, Andrew Jacques 3-45 off 14, Sam Oldham 2-48 from 15, Will Smith 1-19 off 4 and Taj Ballantyne 0-14 from 4.

The Leyland openers Zak Willox and Xander Eyre got them off to a great start with an opening stand of 117, Luka Doyle made the breakthrough Xander Eyre caught behind for 50 (80 balls)(6x4), 117-1. Lloyd Tennant was in at three but with victory in sight fell caught by Edwin Moulton off Ed Catt for 27 (40 balls)(2x4,1x6), 165-2.

Sam Oldham was next in and hit a six for victory as Leyland closed on 175-2 in 38.5 overs , Zak Willox was 77no (111 balls)(8x4,1x6) and Sam Oldham 7no (6 balls)(1x6).

For Chorley Ed Catt took 1-13 from 3 overs, Luca Doyle 1-55 off 11.5, Maxwell Seedall 0-18 from 7, Miller Childs 0-27 off 4, Will Moulton 0-29 from 8 and Edwin Moulton 0-31 off 5.

Settle v Blackpool

Settle won the toss at the Marshfield ground and put the visitors into bat, Blackpool got off to a terrible start losing two wickets in the first over bowled by Harry Snowden, from the third ball of the innings Ben Howarth was bowled for 0 (3 balls), 2-1, next ball number three Matthew Taaffe was out lbw for 0 (1 ball), 2-2.

Ali Usman was next in but soon lost his partner Dylan Henshall caught and bowled by John Hughes for 1 (10 balls), 11-3. Joshua Boyne was the new batsman and with Ali Usman took control, their partnership was 166 when Ali Usman was caught behind by Andre Roach off Sunny Singh for 75 (135 balls)(4x4,4x6), 177-4.

Omar Tarqir was next in, Joshua Boyne reached his century and shortly afterwards Omar Tauqir fell lbw to Sunny Singh for 2 (11 balls), 201-5. Stuart Ashford came to the wicket with fifteen balls remaining, Josh Boyne was out caught by Joe Pickles off Harry Snowden for 119 (131 balls)(7x4,5x6), 211-6.

Alex Ryder replaced Boyne but without any further addition Stuart Ashford was stumped by Andre Roach off Sunny Singh for 0 (5 balls), 211-7. Joe Waterhouse was the new batsman and with Alex Ryder saw Blackpool close on 213-7 in their 50 overs, Joe Waterhouse was 2no (4 balls) and Alex Ryder 0no (did not face a ball).

The Settle bowling figures were Sunny Singh took 3-44 from 15 overs, Harry Snowden 3-73 off 15 overs, John Hughes 1-30 from 7, Joe Pickles 0-9 off 2, Gus Ogden 0-14 from 2, Benjamin Hulse 0-14 off 1.2 and Will Davidson 0-19 from 7.4.

Will Davidson and Benjamin Hulse opened for the hosts, In the third over Jamie Thomson struck with two wickets in three balls, he bowled Will Davidson for 12 (9 balls)(1x6), 15-1, he then bowled number three Harvey Green for 0 (2 balls), 15-2.

Andre Roach was the new batsman, Disaster struck for the hosts losing four wickets for four runs, Khalil Patel started the collapse having Andre Roach caught by Joshua Boyne for 9 (11 balls)(2x4), 38-3. James Snowden replaced Roach but became Jamie Thomson's next victim bowled for 1 (7 balls), 39-4.

Sunny Singh came to the wicket but without any addition to the score Benjamin Hulse was caught behind by Ben Howarth off Khalil Patel for 15 (26 balls)(3x4), 39-5. John Davidson joined Singh but three runs later became Jamie Thomson's fourth wicket bowled for 3 (12 balls), 42-6.

Joe Pickles was Sunny Singh's new partner and they tried to rebuild the innings but once again we had a mini collapse three wickets for two runs, Ali Usman had Joe Pickles lbw for 7 (27 balls), 63-7, Harry Snowden was the new batsman but one run later saw Sunny Singh fall caught behind by Ben Howarth off Ali Usman for 15 (30 balls)(3x4), 64-8.

Gus Ogden came to the wicket but soon became wicket number three for Ali Usman lbw for 0 (16 balls), 65-9. John Hughes was in at eleven and when he was bowled by Alex Ryder for 2 (6 balls) Settle were bowled out for 72 in 28.1 overs with Harry Snowden 3no (23 balls).

All the Blackpool bowlers took a wicket, Jamie Thomson took 4-31 from 8, Ali Usman 3-3-off 5, Khalil Patel 2-26 from 9 and Alex Ryder 1-11 off 6.1.

St Annes v Netherfield

St Annes won the toss at Vernon Road and chose to bat first, Zain Abbas and Ashton Charles came out to bat and were going along nicely until Zain Abbas was run out by Oliver Sanday for 19 (26 balls)(3x4,1x6), 26-1. The St Annes number three was Evan Dobson and with Charles took the score approaching the hundred, Isaac Medhurst broke the partnership having Evan Dobson caught behind by Richard Everett for 34 (62 balls)(7x4), 97-2.

Lukman Vahaluwala was the new batsman and was the next man out caught by Abdu Dayyaan Galiem off Oli Wileman for 10 (36 balls)(1x4), 131-3. Adam Patel was the incoming batsman and with Ashton Charles were making progress until Charlie Parkinson returned to the attack and in his first over had Adam Patel caught by John Huck for 29 (25 balls)(4x4,1x6), 184-4.

Harry Birkman was in next and was soon out lbw to Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 0 (3 balls), 185-5. Rory Urquhart replaced Birkman, Ashton Charles had been holding the innings together and he was out next caught by Oliver Sanday off Abdi Dayyaan Galiem for 83 (132 balls)(8x4,2x6), 197-6.

Ryan Birkman joined Rory Urquhart with three overs to go, Charlie Parkinson claimed two wickets in three balls, Ryan Birkman was bowled for 1 (3 balls), 200-7 incoming batsman Muhammad Patel two balls later was caught by Josh Wills for 0 (2 balls), 202-8.

Alex Urquhart was the new batsman but lost Rory Urquhart bowled by Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 11 (12 balls)(1x4), 209-9. James Bradley was in at eleven and with Urquhart saw St Annes close on 211-9 in their 50 overs, Alex Urquhart was 3no (6 balls) and James Bradley 2no (4 balls).

The Netherfield bowling was Charlie Parkinson took 3-49 from 8, Abdu Dayyaan Galiem 3-53 off 12, Isaac Medhurst 1-22 from 6, Oli Wileman 1-33 off 10, Oliver Sanday 0-22 from 6 and Josh Wills 0-27 off 8.

Reece Irving and Richard Everett were the visiting opening pair and gave them a good foundation, Zain Abbas made the breakthrough having Richard Everett caught by Rory Urquhart for 33 (56 balls)(4x4,1x6), 66-1, Abdu Dayyaan Galiem came in at three and saw Reece Irving fall caught by Zain Abbas of Adam Patel for 39 (65 balls)(4x4), 82-2. Ben Barrow was next in but in Adam Patel's next over he had Abu Dayyaan Galiem caught by Harry Birkman for 8 (25 balls)(1x4), 85-3.

John Huck replaced Galiem and with Barrow were making good progress, the introduction of Rory Urquhart had an immediate effect having Ben Barrow caught by Muhammad Patel for 15 (36 balls)(1x4), 117-4. Will Beeden was the new batsman but soon became Rory Urquhart's next victim caught behind by James Bradley for 9 (11 balls)(2x4), 129-5.

Charlie Parkinson came to the wicket and with Huck were looking dangerous when James Bradley stumped John Huck off Alex Urquhart for 44 (55 balls)(5x4,1x6), 155-6. Oli Wileman joined Parkinson but ten runs later Charlie Parkinson was caught by Ryan Birkman off Zain Abbas for 7 (10 balls)(1x4), 165-8.

Oliver Sanday was Oli Wileman's new partner but was quickly out stumped by James Bradley off Adam Patel for 1 (2 balls), 166-8. Josh Wills came to the wicket and with Wileman got ever closer to the target, eighteen runs were required from twelve balls, with ten balls remaining Oli Wileman was caught by Evan Dobson off Adam Patel for 18 (18 balls)(1x4,1x6), 194-9.

Number eleven Isaac Medhurst and Josh Wills required 14 runs off the last over bowled by Zain Abbas, Isaac Medhurst fell stumped by James Bradley for 8 (6 balls)(1x6) as St Annes claimed victory as Netherfield were bowled out for 205 in 49.5 overs, Josh Wills was 13no (17 balls)(1x4).

The St Annes bowling was Adam Patel took 4-55 from 15 overs, Zain Abbas 3-48 off 14.5, Rory Urquhart 2-40 from 8, Alex Urquhart 1-20 off 4, Muhammad Patel 0-18 from 4 and Lukman Vahaluwla 0-22 off 4.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 5

Barrow v Thorton Cleveleys

Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and invited the visitors to bat first, The got off to a bad start losing Will Weber bowled by Daryl Wearing for 0 (7 balls), 9-1, Sam Curwen came in at three and with Josh Borrell were slowly building the score, Dan Adams broke the partnership having Josh Borrell caught by Declan Tyson for 27 (73 balls)(3x4), 55-2.

Joshua Sackfield was next in and with Curwen continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over, Simon Chadd was brought into the attack and in his second over trapped Joshua Sackfield lbw for 35 (53 balls)(4x4,1x6), 99-3. Jude Elphick was the new batsman but two runs later he was caught and bowled by Declan Tyson for 0 (6 balls), 101-4.

Joshua Rolinson replaced Elphick but quickly lost Sam Curwen caught by Hardus Coetzer off Declan Tyson for 24 (87 balls)(3x4), 107-5.Jacob Sackfield joined Rolinson, Simon Chadd struck again having Joshua Rolinson caught by Declan Tyson for 9 (14 balls)(1x4), 119-6.

It was becoming a procession as no batsman seemed to be able to stay, incoming batsman Christopher Hedges was soon out caught by Hardus Coetzer off Declan Tyson for 2 (6 balls), 129-8. Evan Chandler joined Ethan Elphick but one run later was stumped by Oliver Whalley off Simon Chadd for 0 (6 balls), 130-9.

Anthony Ellison was the visitors number eleven, Simon Chadd claimed his fifth wicket Ethan Elphick caught by Daryl Wearing for 15 (12 balls)(1x4,1x6) as Thornton Cleveles was bowled out for 140 in 47.5 overs with Anthony Ellison 1no (7 balls).

Simon Chadd took 5-24 from 7.5 overs, Declan Tyson 3-41 off 14, Dan Adams 1-14 from 7, Daryl Wearing 1-20 off 10 and Hardus Coetzer 0-31 from 9.

The Barrow reply did not start well Simon Chadd bowled by Joshua Rolinson for 2 (11 balls), 7-1. In at three was Oliver Whalley and with Luke Callow were going well, Joshua Rolinson struck again having Oliver Whalley caught behind by Sam Curwen for 21 (33 balls)(4x4), 63-2.

Hardus Coetzer was the new batsman and with Callow were approaching the hundred when Luke Callow was caught and bowled by Joshua Sackfield for 41 (69 balls)(7x4), 96-3. Sam Dutton joined Coetzer and they saw the hosts home closing on 141-3 in 30.5 overs, Hardus Coetzer was 34no (40 balls)(2x4.1x6) and Sam Dutton 33no (32 balls)(5x4,1x6).

The Thornton Cleveleys bowing was Joshua Rolinson took 2-31 from 12, Joshua Sackfield 1-36 off 6, Christopher Hedges 0-15 from 3, Even Chandler 0-28 off 5.5 and Anthony Ellison 0-27 from 4.

Fleetwood v Lytham

Fleetwood won the toss at Broadwater and decided to bat first, The Fleetwood openers were soon parted Andy Drake caught behind by Stewart Davison off Josh Holden for 4 (14 balls)(1x4), 9-1. Muhammed Hurraira came in at three and with Jeremy Davies were scoring around four an over, Sabbir Patel was brought on to bowl and in his second over had Jeremy Davies caught by Archie Banks-Smith for 29 (67 balls)(3x4), 85-2.

Harry McAleer was in next but soon became Sabbir Patel's second wicket caught by Ryan Norris for 10 (12 balls)(2x4), 103-3, Tomas King came to the wicket but one run later was caught by Myles Child off Sahhan Sahaan for 0 (7 balls), 104-4.

Charlie Clark was the new batsman and was out in Sahaan Sahaan's next over bowled for 0 (6 balls), 106-5. Dean Bell joined Hurraira but he quickly became wicket number three for Sahaan Sahaan stumped by Stewart Davision for 2 (4 balls), 114-6.

Declan Clerkin replaced Bell and played his part in a stand of 59, he was next out, Sahaan Sahaan's fifth wicket bowled for 32 (43 balls)(2x4,1x6), 173-7. Hassan Mughal came to the wicket but soon became another Sahaan Sahaan victim caught by Sabbir Patel for 1 (12 balls), 175-8.

Matthew Siddall was Hurraira's new partner, Muhammed Hurraira's innings came to a close caught by Josh Holden off Sahaan Sahaan for 88 (116 balls)(8x4,1x6), 188-9.

Sherzai Wali came in at eleven and one run later was caught by Sahaan Sahaan off Sabbir Patel for 0 (2 balls) as Fleetwood were bowled out for 189 in 48.5 overs with Matthew Siddall 3no (11 balls).

The Lytham Bowling was Sahaan Sahaan took 6-62 from 15 overs, Sabbir Patel 3-59 off 14.5, Josh Holden 1-24 from 10, Archie Banks-Smith 0-10 off 3, Charlie Nixon 0-16 from 3 and Henry Roberts 0-17 off 3.

The visitors reply got off to a poor start losing both openers early, Myles Child was first to go lbw to Hassan Mughal for 8 (19 balls), 17-1, Number three was Stewart Davison but one run later Edward Fiddler was caught by Charlie Clark off Declan Clerkin for 7 (27 balls)(1x4), 18-2.

Henry Roberts joined Davison and they were going well approaching the hundred when Matthew Siddall bowled Stewart Davison for 18 (53 balls)(1x4), 90-3. Sahaan Sahaan came to the wicket but he soon lost Henry Roberts lbw to Matthew Siddall for 53 (62 balls)(8x4), 98-4.

James Fiddler was the new batsman but he became Matthew Siddall's next wicket caught by Sherzai Wali for 3 (12 balls), 109-5. Josh Holden was Sahaan's new partner and they looked to be making progress. Declan Clerkin returned to the attack and in his second over bowled Sahaan Sahaan for 18 (37 balls)(1x4), 134-6.

Ryan Norris was next in but before they could settle Matthew Siddall caught and bowled Josh Holden for 16 (33 balls)(2x4), 148-7. Archie Banks-Smith replaced Holden, Jeremy Davies was brought on to bowl, on the sixth ball of the over he bowled a wide, having to ball another ball he took the wicket of Archie Banks-Smith bowled for 2 (6 balls), 158-8.

Charkie Nixon was next in needing thirty runs from four overs. Declan Clerkin decided the result taking two wickets in three balls, he trapped Ryan Norris lbw for 17 (39 balls)(2x4), 170-9. in came Sabbir Patel but two balls later he was caught behind by Harry McAleer for 0 (2 balls)and Fleetwood won bowling out Lytham for 170 in 48.3 overs, Charlie Nixon was 2no (3 balls).

For Fleetwood Matthew Siddall took 4-32 from 15 overs, Declan Clerkin 4-39 off 14.3, Hassan Mughal 1-9 from 5, Jeremy Davies 1-52 off 10 and Sherzai Wali 0-30 from 4.

Great Eccleston v Whalley

Whalley won the ross at Hall Lane and chose to bat first but got off to a bad start, Alexander Rhodes bowled Theo Keniford for 0 (5 balls) in the first over of the match, 1-1, Richard Palmer was the Whalley number three, Alexander Rhodes struck with a wicket in consecutive overs, opener Aman Singh was bowled for 5 (19 balls)(1x4), 10-2, in his next over incoming batsman Frankie Jackson was also bowled for 0 (4 balls), 10-3.

Sam Jack joined Richard Palmer and they started a revival. Mohamed Nadeem was introduced into the attack and in his second over had Sam Jackson caught by Matt Moat for 12 (35 balls)(3x4), 43.4, Hamish Mullavey- Clark was next in but one run later was caught by Matthew Lawrenson off Jim Proctor for 1 (5 balls), 44-5.

Ethan Jackson was Richard Palmer's new partner but Mohamed Nadeem struck again bowling Richard Palmer for 16 (75 balls)(3x4), 52-6. Thomas Cameron was the new batsman and with Jackson took the score past the hundred, Tyler McGladdery made the breakthrough having Thomas Cameron caught by Mohamed Nadeem for 19 (44 balls)(2x4), 109-7.

Edward Burrow was next in and with Ethan Jackson had the scoreboard turning over, Disaster struck for the visitors as Tyler McGladdery took two wickets in three balls, Ethan Jackson was first to go caught by Alex Swale for 53 (52 balls)(3x4,3x6), 136-9, Joshua Dentith was the new man in but fell two balls later lbw for 0 (2 balls), 136-9.

Toby Birtwistle came to the wicket but became Alexander Rhodes's fourth wicket bowled for 5 (9 balls) as Whalley were bowled out for 146 in 44.5 overs with Edward Burrow 7no (19 balls).

The Great Eccleston bowling was Alexander Rhodes took 4-35 from 11.5 overs, Tyler McGladdery 3-23 off 6, Mohamed Nadeem 2-29 from 11, Jim Proctor 1-25 off 12 and Phil Booth 0-25 from 4.

The hosts did not start well losingWill Smith caught by Hamish Mullavey- Clark off Frankie Jackson for 1 (6 balls) 6-1. The man in at three was Tyler McGladdery but he soon lost his partner Matthew Lawrenson bowled by Joshua Dentith for 2 (24 balls), 22-2.

Alexander Rhodes joined McGladdery and had put on 42 when Alexander Rhodes was caught and bowled by Joshua Dentith for 28 (28 balls)(4x4,1x6), 64-3. Mohammed Fazil was the new batsman and with McGladdery saw the hosts to victory closing on 150-3 in 25 overs, Tyler McGladdery was 66no (61 balls)(5x4,3x6) and Mohammed Fazil 33no (39 balls)(4x4).

For Whalley Joshua Dentith took 2-50from 12 overs, Frankie Jackson 1-37 off 7, Toby Birtwistle 0-19 from 2 and Hamish Mullavey-Clark 0-37off 4.

Morecambe v Euxton

Morecambe won the toss at Woodhill Lane and put the visitors into bat, Josh Tolley and Max Harper gave them a very good start, Lloyd (Adam) Smith broke the partnership with Josh Tolley caught by Lewis Smith for 38 (44 balls)(6x4), 60-1. James Bone was Euxton's number three but with only ten runs added lost Max Harper lbw to Siddarth Ahhuja for 15 (42 balls)(2x4), 70-2.

Ben Houghton was in next and the score went past the hundred when Ben Houghton suffered the same fate as Max Harper out lbw to Siddarth Ahhuja for 20 (24 balls)(3x4), 103-3. Josh Boyden was the new batsman but disaster struck the visitors losing two wickets on the same score, James Bone was run out by Joseph Bradshaw for 14 (45 balls)(1x4), 112-4, Nishan Peiris came to the wicket and was bowled by Stefan Dixon for 0 (2 balls), 112-5.

Jack Shovelton joined Josh Boyden and they kept the scoreboard ticking over, Stefan Dixon struck again bowling Jack Shovelton for 24 (25 balls)(4x4,1x6),145-6. Jack Morgan replaced Shovelton and with Boyden took the score past the two hundred, Joseph Bradshaw was brought on to bowl and with his first ball had Josh Boyden caught by Lewis Smith for 50 (61 balls)(2x4,4x6), 212-7.

Joseph Barker was next in but fell lbw to Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 6 (5 balls), 219-8. Louis Sweeney was Jack Morgan's new partner, there were ten balls left when Jack Morgan was caught by Michael Bland off Joseph Bradshaw for 36 (41 balls)(7x4), 227-9.

The visitors number eleven was Joseph Bowden and lost Louis Sweeney bowled by Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 1 (8 balls)as Euxton were bowled out for 231 in 49.4 overs with Joseph Bowden 2no (3 balls).

The Morecambe bowling figures were Lloyd (Adam) Smith took 3-47 from 9.4 overs, Joseph Barker 2-13 off 2, Siddart Ahhuja 2-24 from 15, Stefan Dixon 2-59 off 9, Lewis Smith 0-36 from 7 and Michael Bland 0-42 off 7.

The hosts got off to a good start but then lost four wickets cheaply, Lewis Smith and Andrew Creech opening stand was 50, Joseph Bowden bowled Lewis Smith for 24 (46 balls)(3x4), 50-1, Joe Davies was number three, Nishan Peiris came on to bowl and in his second over bowled Joe Davies for 0 (6 balls), 51-2.

Siddarth Ahhuja joined Andrew Creech, in Nishan Peiris's next over he took two wickets in four balls, he had Andrew Creech caught by Joseph Bowden for 24 (48 balls)(3x4), 56-3, George Battersby came to the wicket and hit the first ball for six, no run off the next and was stumped by Jack Morgan off the next for 6 (3 balls)(1x6), 62-4.

Joseph Bradshaw was the new batsman and soon became Nishan Peiris's fourth wicket lbw for 7 (14 balls)(1x4), 87-5. Stefan Dixon was in next and supported Siddarth Ahhuja, they were making good progress, Joseph Bowden was brought back into the attack and with his fifth ball took the prize wicket off Siddarth Ahhuja caught behind by Jack Morgan for 41 (49 balls)(4x4,2x6), 119-6.

Luke Pearson joined Dixon but two runs later Stefan Dixon was caught and bowled by James Bone for 8 (29 balls)(1x4), 121-7. Reuben Orr came to the wicket but fell one run later caught and bowled by Josh Boyden for 0 (3 balls), 122-8.

Lloyd (Adam) Smith replaced Orr and with Luke Pearson kept the runs coming until Nishan Peiris claimed his fifth wicket bowling Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 9 (21 balls), 159-9.

Michael Bland was the hosts last man and with Luke Pearson saw Morecambe close on 195-9 in their 50 overs, Luke Pearson was 51no (69 balls)(5x4) and Michael Bland was 10no (15 balls)(2x4).

Penwortham v Fulwood & Broughton

Penwortham won the toss at Middleforth Green and invited the visitors to take the first knock, Ewen Mansford and Matt Smith gave the visitors a good start broken when Matt Smith was caught by Isaac Roberts off Charlie Parker for 23 (15 balls)(4x4), 39-1, Ben Rosbottom was in at three but two runs later two wickets fell on the same score, Ben Rosbottom was out lbw to Isaac Roberts for 0 (5 balls), 41-2, Charlie Rossiter was the new batsman but immediately lost Ewen Mansford caught by Kriston Yearwood off Charlie Parker for 16 (23 balls)(3x4), 41-3.

Clayton Stone was the next man in and became Charlie Parker's third victim caught by Nathan Walmsley for 6 (22 balls)(1x4), 64-4. Simon Kerrigan joined Rossiter but with only four runs added Charlie Rossiter was caught by Matt Halliday off Nathan Walmsley for 13 (23 balls)(1x4), 68-5.

James McWilliam replaced Rossiter but Nathan Walmsley struck again bowling Simon Kerrigan for 2 (18 balls), 78-6. it soon became 83-7 when James McWilliam became Nathan Walmsley's third wicket caught by Kriston Yearwood for 6 (32 balls)(1x4).

Jon Fenton and Ben Parkinson were the new batsmen and had the task of rebuilding the innings, they steadily built up the score but on 119 Ben Parkinson was trapped by Nathan Walmsley for 21 (40 balls)(3x4), 119-8. Lewis Wellings came to the wicket and was scoring at a run a ball when he fell bowled by Kriston Yearwood for 24 (24 balls)(1x4,2x6), 163-9.

Number eleven Chris Brookes supported Jon Fenton, Nathan Elliott brought the Fulwood & Broughton innings to a close on 180 all out in 48.1 overs by bowling Jon Fenton for 35 (73 balls)(2x4) and Chris Brookes was 6no (15 balls)(1x4).

Nathan Walmsley lead the Penwortham bowling taking 4-39 from 15 overs, Charlie Parker 3-24 off 11, Kriston Yearwood 1-14 from 3, Nathan Elliott 1-22 off 7.1 and Isaac Roberts 1-56 from 6.

Kriston Yearwood got the hosts off to a flying start hitting the first ball of the innings for four and the second for six, however in the next over bowled by Jon Fenton he was out caught by Simon Kerrigan for 19 (8 balls)(3x4,1x6), 19-1. Matt Halliday came at three but was quickly out caught by Ben Parkinson off Chris Brookes for 0 (2 balls), 21-2.

Robbie Sumner joined Jonathan Hothersall and they moved the score along, Simon Kerrigan was introduced into the attack and in his first over had Jonathn Hothersall caught by Lewis Wellins for 30 (39 balls)(3x4,2x6),67-3. Nathan Elliott came in next but six runs later was caught and bowled by Simon Kerrigan for 2 (11 balls), 73-4.

Kane Donaghy was the new batsman and supported Robbie Sumner until he was caught behind by James McWilliam off Simon Kerrigan for 6 (24 balls)(1x4), 85-5. The Penwortham innings was following the patten of the visitors, Robbie Sumner's new partner was Charlie Parker who was bowled by Lewis Wellings for 5 (7 balls)(1x4), 91-6.

Ian Walmsley Jr joined Sumner but in Lewis Wellings's next over was bowled for 0 (2 balls), 91-7. Ed Cox came to the wicket but did bit last long bowled by Lewis Wellings for 1 (8 balls), 108-8.

Nathan Walmsley was next in and he dug in and with Sumner were scoring at a steady pace, Ewen Mansford was brought back into the attack and in his second over claimed two wickets in three balls, Robbie Sumner was the first caught by Clayton Stone for 48 (99 balls)(4x4,2x6), 141-9. Isaac Roberts was number eleven and took a single off his first ball, Nathan Walmsley had the same fate as Sumner caught by Clayton Stone as Penwortham were bowled out for 142 in 39.3 overs with Isaac Roberts 1no (1 ball).

All the Fulwood & Broughton bowlers took a wicket, Simon Kerrigan took 3-22 from 13 overs, Lewis Wellings 3-31 off 7, Ewen Mansford 2-24 from 7.3, Jon Fenton 1-24 off 6 and Chris Brookes 1-38 from 6.

Preston v Carnforth

Carnforth won the toss at West Cliff and asked the hosts to bat first, the opening pair of Sajid Patel and Navazish Ali got off to a brilliant start with a stand of 92, Jaco Beneke made the breakthrough Sajid Patel caught by Tom Parkinson for 21 (77 balls), 92-1. In at three was Imran Mehmood and he was next out lbw to Jaco Beneke for 11 (26 balls)(1x6), 128-2.

Suhel Patel joined Ali and they had the score moving along nicely, Navazish Ali reached his century and in the next over was caught by Jack Huntington off Freddie Whatmuff for 101 (114 balls)(9x4,6x6), 173-3, Ahmed Bariwala was in next and the score went past the two hundred and Dylan Conroy took three wickets in five balls, Ahmed Bariwala was stumped by Harry Wiles for 18 (21 balls)(2x6), 207-4. Rizwan Banglawala joined Suhel Patel and two balls later Suhel Patel was bowled for 28 (43 balls)(2x4,1x6), 208-5, next ball incoming batsman Arbaz Khan was caught by Freddie Whatmuff for 0 (1 ball), 208-6.

Sajid Nalbandh was the new batsman but Dylan Conroy took two wickets in two balls, Sajid Nalbandh was caught by Jack Huntington for 1 (4 balls), 212-7. incoming batsman ShaidHusain Haji was bowled first ball for 0, 212-8.

Talha Patel joined Banglawala, Jaco Beneke bowled the last over and with his first ball caught and bowled Rizwam Banglawala for 4 (9 balls), 213-9. Last man Ismail Patel with Talha Patel saw Preston close on 216-9 in their 50 overs, Talha Patel was 2no (3 balls) and Ismail Patel 2no (3 balls).

The Carnforth bowling was Dylan Conroy took 5-33 from 7.3 overs, Jaco Beneke 3-57 off 14, Freddie Whatmuff 1-50 from 10, James Park Johnson 0-17 off 4.3, James Parkinson 0-20 from 11 and Tom Parkinson 0-27 off 3.

The Carnforth openers were soon parted Harry Wiles falling caught and bowled by ShaidHusain Haji for 2 (4 balls), 12-1, James Park Johnson came in at three and with Ryan Nelson slowly moved the score along, James Park Johnson was the next man out lbw to Ismail Patel for 20 (61 balls)(1x4), 61-2.

Freddie Whatmuff was the new batsman but suffered the same fate as Park Johnson out lbw to Ismail Patel, Jaco Beneke joined Nelson but five runs later Ryan Nelson was caught by Navazish Ali off Ismail Patel for 31 (105 balls)(5x4), 72-4.

Sam Frith was Tom Parkinson's new partner and they began to make good progress, disaster struck for the visitors as Tom Parkinson was run out by Ahmed Bariwala for 23 (26 balls)(2x4,1x6), 122-8.

Jack Huntington was next in and went on the attack but he became Ismail Patel's fifth wicket caught by Ahmed Bariwala for 33 (19 balls)(4x4,16), 158-9. James Parkinson was the Carnforth number eleven and with Sam Firth saw Carnforth close on 174-9 in their 50 overs, Sam Firth was 21no (34 balls)(1x4) and James Parkinson 12no (12 balls)(2x4).
