Luis Reece returns to 1st XI action this weekend, and is joined by Michael Penney and Craig Outram, who were unavailable last Sunday; Mike Taylor retains his place after impressing with bat and ball in the Thwaites Cup Semi Final against Preston last Sunday, but Mike's brother Chris Taylor, veteran Dave Newton, and Luke Melville return to the 2nd XI, whilst Bash Moore is unavailable with work commitments. Jamie and Andy Hogarth continue to enjoy a family holiday in Jamaica.

With Tony Yasin (can't swim anyway) unavailable due to work committments and Nick Lewthwaite (can only do the doggy paddle) away as best man on a stag do, 2nd team skipper Alan Thompson (taught Phelps all he knows) along with Mark (The Fish) Phillips come into the side.

Our 2nd XI face a double-header this weekend, starting with a trip to Darwen on Saturday and culminating with a home tie against Netherfield in the last of our re-arranged league games, before sitting out the rest of August.
2nd XI - Saturday 16th August - Away vs Darwen, Meet BCC 10:50 - Griffiths (capt) (w/k), Armstrong, Bain, Booth, Bracewell, Clark, Melville, Newton, Taylor (C), Tidmas, Wall

With the 2nd XI unable to call upon players who may feature in the equivalent 1st XI game on Saturday 23rd August, and 1st XI captain Paul Danson keen to ensure he has a strong squad to select from, Luke Melville is forced to miss out on Sunday, as well as captain Andy Griffiths(Christening) and Mike Tidmas, who alongside Michael Penney, Ben Heath and Alex Smith, will form part of the Blackpool Under 17 team who will be in action in the Final of the Palace Shield Under 17 competition this Sunday where they take on Longridge at BAC Preston.
