Preview of weekend 18th and 19th August

DIVISON 1

Division One of The Northern Cricket league sees League Leaders Barrow travel to face a tricky encounter against an inform Lancaster . Barrow extended their lead at the top last weekend capitalizing on Fleetwood's set back to Darwen.

Lancaster have improved, with Timyacen Maruma, impressing with bat and ball. Ben Simm has breathed new life into the team ever since taking on the captaincy.

Fleetwood face a big weekend, where they travel for a local derby at Blackpool on Saturday before facing Kendal at Shap Road in The Readers Cup Final on Sunday.

Mat Clark's team will be keen to bounce back from the shock setback with Darwen as they face a Blackpool side that are looking to get some form back before the end of the season.

The Readers Cup final, gives Fleetwood an opportunity to add another trophy to their cabinet to add to their TWP Wealth Twenty-20 Finals Day success

Third placed Kendal are also in action as they travel to face Preston on Saturday before the massive Readers Cup Final on Sunday. Its also the last weekend for Jamie How who goes home early, with Kendal acquiring the services of Werner Coetsee as sub professional for The Barrow game the following weekend.

Kendal have been in fantastic form and still have an outside chance of winning the league, and of course it could be a memorable Sunday if they come out victorious in the cup final

For the rest, Netherfield host Chorley at Parkside Road , with Netherfield looking to finish the season strong after a bad run of form.

Morecambe host St Annes at Woodhill Lane ,with St Annes also in league action on Sunday when they host The Lancashire Colts.

The final match sees Darwen fresh from their league success at Fleetwood host David Makinson's Leyland at Birch Hall. with Leyland looking to bounce back from last Sundays Readers Cup set back.

Carnforth have the weekend off

DIVISION 2

In Division 2, Barrow will be looking to stay top when they host bottom side Lancaster, Leyland host Darwen, with Chorley hosting Netherfield. Fleetwood entertain Chorley , whilst St Annes host Morecambe
