THE LEWIS TOMLINSON INTERVIEW

Williams Joins Netherfield

Chris Williams

Chris Williams has decided to join John Mason's Netherfield after leaving Morecambe at the end of last season.

Williams who also represents Cumbria had this to say about his move:

"I had two good years at Morecambe, Netherfield is a strong young side and I'm looking forward to the cricket and the dressing room atmosphere. John as built a strong side, especially in the batting side of things and after speaking to him a few times, I really wanted to be a part of things at the club."

Williams who last year scored 568 runs with an average of 30 and also took 24 wickets is regarded as an excellent signing by Netherfield captain John Mason.

When I asked Chris Williams about his new sides title chances he replied:

"We all believe we'll be up and around the top teams at the end of the season. We've got one of the strongest batting line ups in the league, from Marc Brown at the top of the order to the likes of Chris Parry coming in down the order. On top of that, Cobus is a top signing as professional and will no doubt do a good job for us. We've just got to make sure we hit the top form with the ball and take every game as it comes."

Chris Williams first game for the Parkside Road based club will be at home to last years champions St.Annes on saturday the 14th of April.
