"We like a number of teams feel as though we can make a title challenge as we have a well-balanced squad and will be looking to go all the way in all the cup competitions.

The Northern league is all about picking the points up into September which Fleetwood did well last year.

They were consistent in gaining maximum points and thats something we will be looking to address in our pre season preparations.

We have recruited well in the return of Scott Clement who will add experience to our bowling line up, we have also added a genuine all rounder in Mark Ousby and an exciting young batsman in Greg Hall.

We have made a fantastic signing in Colin Ackermann as Professional who adds strength to our batting and bowling line ups.

Having spoken to Colin a few times he can not wait to get over and get stuck into the Northern league and club life at Netherfield CC."

Colin Ackermann spoke of his delight at joining Netherfield Cricket Club.

"I've always heard that the Northern leagues are the best in the country so I'm looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.

I am sure the club would love a trophy in the cabinet and I will try my best to make this happen.

It is a massive life experience to play cricket overseas, I am sure I will meet some great people and make some lasting friendships during my time in the North West"
