An Interview with George Linde by Richard Edmondson

Darwen's South African Professional George Linde has taken the Northern League by storm in his first season. Linde who has amassed 590 runs and taken 52 wickets has impressed Darwen so much so that they decided to resign him for the 2015 campaign.

His performances with bat and ball have been one of the factors behind Darwens top 4 position in the league table. With 5 matches left of the current campaign I caught up with George who gave me his thoughts on his stay at Darwen as well his opinions of the Northern League

Here is what he had to say:

"I like it up here and especially to play in the Northern League. I always heard about this league when I was playing for Lytham. This is a different league than the others I played in.

I felt this was the most challenging one for me so far especially in the beginning of the season when it was wet especially the pitches so I had to adapt quick.

I love it up here at Darwen they are treating me well and it is a very young side so we are building for the future. I was struggling a bit in the beginning of the season so I had to adapt quick and I think I had and everything is going well now.

The highlight of my season was when I scored a century against Preston and then followed it up with 9 wickets as well against them.

The aim now is to help the team to stay in the top 4. "
