MORECAMBE CRICKET CLUB:

First Team Captain:
Josh Dixon
Professional:
TBA

Morecambe Cricket Club have had a relatively quiet winter down at Woodhill Lane, with no players departing the Club. They have however appointed Josh Dixon as the new First Team Captain taking over from Tommy Clough.

They have also signed up a Professional after the move for Corne Dry fell through but at this stage they are unable to reveal the name of the player.

New captain Josh Dixon looks forward to what he hopes will be a good season where he also welcomes a new face into the side:

" I'm very much looking forward to the coming season, and I am extremely proud to have become skipper of Morecambe CC.

We currently have no outgoing players and have strengthened in the bowling department with the signing of Ed Read from Settle CC. Who I hope will shine as he has done in the Ribblesdale league.

We unfortunately missed out on Corne Dry due to champions league commitments with the Knights. Therefore we have been working tirelessly and we do have a pro 99.9% in place but I am unfortunately unable to reveal him officially.

Ultimately I never like to make predictions as I feel it adds unnecessary pressure. But I want my side to be competitive in all forms of the game. We have some talented players in our side and I think we may shock a few.

I am looking forward to a season of competitive cricket and let's see where it takes us.

We obviously start with a week off so we will be using that to great effect by playing a full strength Ramsbottom side.

Here's to an exciting season."
