St Annes swoops for Pitchers

Xander Pitches

St Annes Cricket Club have completed the signing of South African Xander Pitchers as their New Professional for the 2015 Campaign.

The all rounder from Kimberley in South Africa opens the batting and is a clean hitter of the ball. He also bowls off spin, and is excellent in the field.

Xander moved to Namibia and cemented his place in the national team with some good displays.

He also played for Worcester Cricket Club last season helping them to the League title and gaining promotion to the Birmingham Premier League.

Xander replaces Toby Bulcock who was last seasons professional.

Cricket Chairman Andy Kellett says "I am pleased to announce that our new Professional for the 2015 season is South African 1st class/Namibia International Xander Pitchers. I am sure we will all give Xander a warm welcome when he arrives in April".

Xander confirmed he is looking forward to joining us, saying "Thanks for the opportunity to come and play for St Annes, its really a massive honour and privilage. I cannot wait to get over and play some quality cricket with you".
