The battle at the Top of Division One continues as the Northern Cricket League enters into Round 19 of the competition.
With eight rounds of the season to go the titles in Division One and Division Two are still up for grabs.
As well as the league battles the Readers Cup enters into its final stages for what promises to be an action packed weekend.
DIVISION ONE:
League leaders Morecambe make the tricky trip to play Barrow at Ernest Pass. Potentially a very difficult game for Josh Dixon's team against a side that have not consistently reached the heights they were hoping to achieve.
The game of the day though is at Broadwater as two title rivals collide in Fleetwood and Darwen, both are in the running for the League title.
Fleetwood's David King with 984 runs is closing in on a Northern League record for League runs scored in a season held by another Australian Callum Ferguson
Darwen are three points behind the leaders having played a game more. Victory in this game for either side would give them the momentum needed in pursuit for the Division One Crown.
Blackpool make the trip to the Lake District to play a struggling Kendal side, they are still in the mix as they aim to defend their crown, for Kendal it is about building on the win at Preston and climbing up the table for what is a very young side.
At Windsor Park, Chorley will be looking to regain some form when they host a misfiring Netherfield, whilst Lancaster entertain Preston and St Annes host Penrith.
DIVISION TWO:
Both Netherfield and St Annes will be looking to capitalise on Leyland's free weekend as victory would propel one of the sides into top spot.
Netherfield are at home to Chorley and St Annes travel to Penrith.
The other games see Blackpool host Kendal, Darwen entertain Fleetwood and Barrow make the trip to play Morecambe with Preston and Lancaster going head to head.
SUNDAY 2ND AUGUST
READERS CUP
Sunday sees Leyland host Fleetwood in the last remaining Quarter - Final match of the Readers Cup. The winners are at home to Lancaster
Darwen host Blackpool in the Readers Cup Semi Final at Birch Hall
The Division Two Readers Cup Semi Finals see Blackpool host Darwen and either Lancaster or Penrith entertain Leyland depending on the outcome of the Bowl out on Thursday.
The Readers Cup games start at 1.30pm with the exception of the Darwen v Blackpool which starts at 1-00pm
NATIONAL TWENTY/20 COMPETITION
Netherfields Nitros are also in action, the defending Twenty/20 holders compete in the National competition where they face Ormskirk and Egerton.
